Incredible looking hot foods waiting to be gobbled up by hungry customers. Huge containers of chicken noodle soup for $12.00 ready to just heat up and enjoy. The staff were very friendly and explained some of their specialties in the meat section. The jumbo stone crab claws made me instantly salivate. Some of the desserts looked promising. I was trying to figure out what I should try during our short visit to Florida. Stone crab came up. As did key lime pie. I searched online for both and ran across The Market Place, a reasonable drive away. Parking was no issue since the shop is located in a shopping plaza. Their stone crab claws felt expensive at $59.99/lb, but we weren't about to buy them raw at a market and try to figure out how to cook them in an unfamiliar kitchen. We had them crack them up for us and enjoyed them with their mustard sauce. The sauce added a little something that made the sweet clawmeat little more special than your usual yummy crabmeat. The slice of key lime pie was cut smaller than I would have liked, given the price. But it was the best iteration one friend (whose favorite dessert is key lime pie, by the way) has had so far to date, and that's saying something. read more

Living in the same block for 15 years, I finally gave them a try 5 years ago and I could kick myself for not trying them way sooner when I moved. The food is great and very delicious, my go to is the Chicken Spa Salad, their salads and soups. The wedding soup is the best other than the veggie soup too. What a wonderful establishment ! We came here yesterday for the first time after looking online for a place to get a tuna fish sandwich. We were initially greeted by Tara and then taken care of by Ignacio. He was super polite in taking our order and we asked him if we could upgrade to bagels and he responded absolutely. He put together our sandwiches with such care. They were packed full of deliciousness. After a few bites he asked how everything tasted. Of course we responded with AMAZING. Upon leaving he shared with us about their establishment. Let us try their Spa Tuna, which I will be getting next time. Told us about how everything is made in house including their lunch meats (roast beef, turkey etc) and burgers. Everything was at such a reasonable price as well. If you are looking for an affordable meal packed with love make this place your stop. They have plenty premade meals including meatball, chicken, lasagna and more as well. My experience over the years with The Market Place has usually been a visit to pick up beautiful steaks or fish with freshly prepared sides of vegetables, salads, prepared Quinua or pastas, soups and just about anything we needed that we could bring home and grill with these well prepared side dishes. Even during the holidays, The Market Place prepares everything we needed to take home. Of course, there have been times my wife and I have been laid up sick at home where this has been our go to place to pick up fresh Tuna Salad, Meat Loaf and Chicken Meat Loaf and always Matzah Ball Soup. I usually do not like to bring home prepared foods to heat up, but every time we bring in food from The Market Place, it is just as fresh as if we prepared it ourselves. When you walk in, the presentation of these dishes are so appetizing, I wish I could take home some of each of them. MY NEW EXPERIENCE with The Market Place!!! Turning the clock forward to this last year, as I have developed a new passion for Grilling and Smoking Meats, I have had a great experience ordering my meats from here: Whole Briskets, Beef Ribs and Rib Roasts and several times at that. I can call The Market Place to have them prepare or trim Briskets, check on their inventory on any of the meats I need to order and sometimes can pick up the same day. They have never let me down. Every time the end result of smoking a Brisket or Beef Ribs has been outstanding. These cuts seem leaner and more tender than I have had from other places in the past and I never have to worry about how they come out in the end, as long as I do my part on the smoker, I can always depend on their meats. The Market Place has every cut of meat you can imagine a great variety of fish and shell fish, every side dish and pasta dish as well as displays of dry grocery items to compliment your meals, including marinades, sauces, stir fry sauces, vinegar, olive oils and canned goods. Loved seeing the Raos Spaghetti Sauces here. Great quality, and most of the items they stock are specialty items, not the regular brands that are in the chain grocery stores. There is also a whole shelf section of specialty chips and crackers. The staff here does not take long to get to know you once you come here regularly and they treat you special every time and seem to remember what you like when you come in. Very rare these days. Keep in mind that this is a Gourmet Butcher and Specialty Market. If you want to be assured about quality and service, it is going to cost more than the usual grocery stores or box stores, but that is why I come here. I know what I am getting every time. read more

If you're visiting Hollywood - order for delivery or make a run here! We visited and had a picnic with fresh food. Have gone to lots of wonderful restaurants but this was very needed. Cocktail shrimp so fresh, plump and large; seafood and shrimp salad also fresh and perfectly dressed and seasoned, then the soups. The Italian wedding and the Deluxe Matzah Ball. Unreal. They do platters and there were so many items we could not try. The Coconut shrimp, salmon cakes, the crab cakes ... we're ordering again!! First off I am not going to rate the bevy of prepared items in this little gourmet Market in the strip mall, as although everything I have looked at appears delicious I have never purchased their prepared items. I will review the overlooked portion of the market which is their butcher shop. At 1st glance you see a few steaks & chops etc. at the far end of the showcase, but what you don't realize is they are a full fledged butcher shop and will prepare you just about anything that you like. Over the past month I have visited this place multiple times and the owner / butcher Chris has been the most accommodating nicest individual ever. If it isn't in the case he goes in the back and cuts it fresh. If you don't like the size of the cuts, no problem back he goes makes it whatever you desire. If he doesn't have it call him give him a day or so and he will get it for you and prepare it anyway, any size you like it. Every item I have purchased from Steaks, Pork, Pork Chops, Veal, Veal Chops, Chicken down the line is the freshest top quality meat around. The shop is spotless upfront unlike many current and older style establishments. Prices are on par for what you would expect for this type of quality. I certainly can't attest to the prepared foods but will update when I get tired of cooking and try some out. For now Best Butcher around! read more

Eating at the camper after shopping at Market Place Deli was actually the culinary highlight of our stay at TY park in Hollywood. My only advice is don't go there hungry. The selection is expansive and the menu impressive. Everything looks fantastic and there's a real temptation to over indulge because it's just so tempting. Part deli, part restaurant, and part caterer, Market Place is a feast for the eyes and easy on the pocketbook. My meal of coconut crusted grouper, stuffed portobello, and cucumber salad, plus my wife's spinach lasagna and asparagus came to a thrifty $32. Far less expensive than even a low-end sit-down meal anywhere else. The service can be a bit slow when they're busy but the food is worth the wait. A great day at the beach would start with a stop at Market Place to stock your cooler, then down to the beach and boardwalk for a picnic and one of those fantastic fruit drinks from The Taco Spot. The Market Place is located in the back of a strip mall off Sheraton and Park in Hollywood. This little gem has some of the best gourmet foods around. Today I came here to get some Passover food. I usually come here for their spa tuna and their chicken meatballs. The best tuna I have ever had.They also have a large selection of prepared foods and a large selection of fresh meats and seafood. They make homemade soups which you can get fresh or frozen to take home. They make everything in house. They carry some gourmet grocery items But you would go here for prepared foods. Everything I have ordered here has been fresh and tasty. But please be aware that their prices are not cheap, but well worth the quality. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Check their hours before coming they are only open Monday to Friday from 9-6. No weekends. Erick from Market Place messaged me and said they are open on Saturday's from 9-4pm. read more

Stayed near this place for meeting the next day. Wanted healthy food-especially fresh seafood, as I don't get as much as I like since I'm from WI. Everything I had was delicious, especially the ahi tuna, recommended by regular who was there picking up some dinner- he even bought me some to try and I ended up getting a 1/2 lb-absolutely mouth watering!!! Service was wonderful, Eric was not not pushy at all:) I ended up with tuna with wasabi and soy sauce, rare roast beef with horseradish, seaweed salad and crab salad- both highly recommended, and some tasty roasted Brussels sprouts. My family would not survive without the marketplace. Everyone has their favorite dish ;the best part is you can taste the freshness in all of their prepared foods. The soups are unbelievable- we are vegetarian and they have a large selection and even their mushroom barley soup is made with a vegetarian base which is very uncommon. We ordered a Turkey for Thanksgiving and it was absolutely fabulous. It was sliced perfectly and it was easy to remove from the frame of the Turkey. Gravy , sweet potatoes and stuffing was delicious. This was the first time we brought in food for Thanksgiving having made Turkey at home in the past. In the future we will be making the Market Place our caterer. We also love there chicken wings which are the best and there Rugaleh are fantastic. They have a very large variety of prepared foods to take home and they are all great. Oh the Market Place. This shop benefits from a good location in a wealthy neighborhood, surrounded by people who know what they know, and nothing else. They don't want to drive their Lexus too far from home or golf course, so they settle for this ridiculously overpriced and less-than-fresh food market. The variety is actually great, you see a wide range of options and some of it does taste fine, but for the most part, everything is old. Of course, they gladly tell you everything was made fresh today, which is virtually impossible based on the sheer amount of food on display, their short business hours, and low customer volume. Here's something that disturbs me. The shop closes for AN ENTIRE MONTH in the summertime. Great for the employees, but alienates new customers. I don't know who this shop caters to, but their hours are worse than a bank- and they have no apologies about it. When you look through the glass windows while the shop is shuttered for vacation, there's food plentifully stocked in the chiller cases (not freezers) waiting to be "made today, sold fresh items" when they re-open for business four weeks later. Stop by in late August, the shop will be closed til September, but there's chicken breast relaxing at 43F waiting for you two weeks in the chiller case! read more

Let me start off by saying that I see people coming in and out of this place constantly. So I thought I'd give it ago. Apparently I came in there 30 minutes before they close yet they had a ton of food left which makes me wonder what they do with the left overs. I bought a small cup of their lobster/shrimp salad, 6 chicken meat balls, a mushroom spinach cheese thing and this piece of meat that he said is one of their best sellers. The chicken meatballs were dry. The mushroom spinach this was pretty good as was the shrimp and crab salad(they use real crab). However, the chunk of meat was 80% bone, fat, and connective tissue, it was flavorless and a huge let down. Even worse is I paid $36 in total! Over priced mediocre food at best. What a neighborhood gem. You can't go wrong with any of the prepared foods or fresh fish, chicken and meats. I bought a rack of baby back ribs that had an incredible amount of meat on them and were tender. Absolutely delicious. You must also check out the salmon, huge shrimp and veal chops. There is so much to choose from. The salads are yummy and you can even ask for a sample. If you have time you can grab lunch at one of their tables. Everyone is super nice and accommodating. We were on vacation here and looking for lunch mid-afternoon on a Saturday in March. My husband and I both ordered a crab salad sandwich. We took our sammiches outside to eat as we'd spent the winter in Chicago and wanted to savor every last drop of good weather before our return up to the cold, cold north. They didn't bother about making us pay up front first. The crab was fine, we were tied 1-1 in our opinion of fake vs authentic crab meat. The part that really impressed me was the service.
