My father recommended this deli along University Drive that has stood the test of time for forty-five years. It was lunch time and the main dining area was busy although a separate room to the left side was empty, so we sat at a table near the window to not feel claustrophobic. The menu was enormous which scares me due to waste issues. The server was friendly and instantly greeted us and brought waters then had to flag him down a few times, but no real issues. Ordered the mushroom omelette with homemade potatoes and a slice of toast. Drizzled ketchup and salt on my eggs and dug in. The omelette was not massive, but fluffy and loaded with shrooms. Although tasty, I would have enjoyed my potatoes more well-done. The price was at mid-level for $13.99 and knew just to order tap water instead of coffee. There are only a few deli style restaurants in the Town of Davie so if you're feeling a liitle under the weather you can stop in here and grab a quart of Chicken Noodle or Matzo Ball soup for $11.99. Ordered two BEC toasted with ketchup. Salt and pepper. Woman who was very nice said it should be right out. It was not. I kind of feel like they forgot about me. Sandwich was not toasted and two ketchup packets were thrown in the bag with two Salt and one pepper packet. Not even on the sandwich. Disappointing for $10.31. Although the bagels are very delicious there comes a point when you have to say Are you kidding me?? I asked for two bagels in a bag to go and it was $4.90. I am always willing to pay a little bit more for better quality food. The tower deli has high-quality salads and meats. They make their own pastrami and corned beef on site and they were delicious. I was doing takeout for my family and the lady at the counter talked me into getting a black-and-white cookie. These are my weakness, my kryptonite. I found them very tasty with a good ratio of cake to icing. My family also did a small critique and found a similar review. They were not cheap at $4.29 but they were delicious. they also bought a whole loaf of rye bread, which was super fresh and very tasty. I did not care for the macaroni salad, which was a bit sweet for my taste. I have been there a few times before and I have to say the Front staff is excellent at their job. I had a bad experience at Tower Deli today. Grant it, it was on a Sunday, so I know it's busy. I gave my name to the hostess with red hair, and she told me it could be like 20 to 30 minutes, so I told her I would wait outside because it was very crowded in there with people waiting to be seated. I made it a point to tell her I'd be waiting outside, and she said o.k.. I knew I would be taking a chance because when the hostess has all these people in front of her inside, she may be more likely to skip over me, as I was only one person. I went outside and proceeded to wait like 50 minutes, and kept watching people leaving and she still never called me. I then decided to set my phone timer for 5 minutes and if she still didn't come out and get me, I was going to leave. Which is what ended up happening. I ended up having go next door to Dunkins and eat.. After I ate at Dunkins, I went back over to Tower Deli and searched out the hostess to voice my displeasure with her. She saw me and said, "Where did you go? I called you out there, and you were gone." So I said, I was waiting outside for like 50 minutes and you never called me. Which she responded, "Why didn't you come back inside and say something." Which I responded, because you're supposed to come out and get me when there's a table available! In which she replied, "O.k., come on, I have a table over here." I told her, no, I already ate! Which she replied, "O.k., bye!" And flippantly dismissed me with her hand. The remedy for this is for her to follow the order of her list. I can understand if there's a bigger booth that opens up before me, then it's o.k. to take a bigger group before me, but as soon as a two seated booth or a smaller table becomes available, she should take me! Very good for south Florida! Came here on Christmas Day, and was shocked by the high prices for sandwiches. I will say the portions and quality match the price tags. My tuna melt was delicious and our service was great. I hope to be back soon to try their breakfast. The front of the diner is under construction so it may be a little tough to find. For the last 20+ years, Tower Deli has been a family tradition. We're in a first name basis, we get that extra tour of personal service, and we always have a great time all thanks to my grandparents, Sandy + Jerry Lundy, who've taken us here regularly over that time. Nana and Papa visited almost daily, and we used to joke that Nana and Papa were keeping the place in business. Each time we'd visit we couldn't wait to go with them. Looking back, I now understand why this place meant so much to them. There's no doubt it was reminiscent of the Sunday brunches of yesteryear that my grandfather himself would host for his family and extended family, and this was his way of keeping his own tradition alive with the family he had created. We always felt fortunate to gather with them there, and now I know why. They treated the staff as family and they knew everyone by first name. The same could be said about the staff's relationship with them. We always got that extra personal service, and I will never complain about that. When Nana left us, Tower was there to keep our bellies and souls fed. It was a real comfort during that time for all of us, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Sadly, Papa left us earlier this year, and in true form, Tower was there again. Beautiful and bountiful platters of all his favorites arrived at the house and were shared with friends and family. Even after Nana passed, Papa continued to dine at Tower regularly. I actually think it was the healthy helping of lox and friendly banter with the team that added several years to his long life, and for that I'll be forever grateful. Papa also made many friends at Tower. Richard, Dan, Leslie, to name a few. I know they'll keep his seat warm and his memory alive too. And as long as we're visiting Plantation, we'll be in too. My kids will hear the stories and know why a neighborhood deli holds such a special place in our hearts by hearing about their great grandfather from those who knew him. read more

Dined in with friends yesterday and they were a little busy two servers only but Jen was absolutely amazing. Brought us everything we needed checked on us multiple times and was very warm and friendly. You can tell she's been doing this for a long time.. We have been to Tower Deli a few times now and it is turning into our go to breakfast/brunch spot. The bagels have always been fresh, however as a tip - on the weekends if you don't go early they run out of many of the flavors. Coffee is always hot and fresh. My husband has said that the Chef salad is his favorite. My favorite is the potato knish (try it with a side of sauerkraut). My daughter loves the open faced Nova on a bagel. Service is hit or miss as far as speed, but they are always friendly. It would be nice if coffee was refilled more often but again, service is friendly. All in all, it's been around for a long time for a reason. The food is delicious, the prices are reasonable and the service is friendly. read more

We ended up here when the first place we tried to go had no place to park. Its a nice place, there is quit a bit of items on the menu, and ok service. My wife, she had something simple, a bagel with cream cheese. On the other hand I had soup and half a sandwich. I had matzoball soup, it was good. I had half a turkey pastrami on rye bread. I really enjoyed it, I don't normally see turkey pastrami on the menu. The only negative thing was it came with coslaw. " I hate coslaw!" The menu never said anything about it coming with my meal and if she would have asked me I would have asked for something different. We also ordered pickle fries, (fried pickle chips). Now they were good! The pickles weren't sliced to thin, nicely breaded, and not over fries to a crisp.
