Better than our UW hospital experience by a long shot! I heard they changed ownership in past couple of years. Anyway, the Nurse Practitioner, nurses and CNAs have all been wonderful and caring. It's a little bit outdated inside but it's very clean and the care is wonderful, so who cares? In addition, they cook their food from scratch (recipes apparently come from corporate) and my Mom loves the food. They also did very well on their last state audit. Not one nursing tag... impressive! Great job Crossroads!!

I am gonna have to hold off on the care part of my review because the jury is out on this one and…read moreonly been recent that we moved a loved one to the assisted living from the independent living arrangement. it really is a long involved convoluted story , way to many details to write about. the move process to assisted living lacks support and any process. the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. the actual move in day was supposed to have a nurse meet with us,but this never happened. we were accused of not arriving on time, even though we did. We had no idea when dinner would be served, or when the meds would be administered. I asked multiple staff members for help and who I should be talking to since our arrival meet and greet never happened. I finally lost it, yes I did, and demanded to speak to "the nurse". I did not yell, but was real firm and stressed out in talking with one of the care coordinators and so was our loved one. Finally the person who was to meet with us earlier in the day comes barreling in the room like she was ready for war. We were accused of yelling, yes yelling at her staff. Not true, yes I was firm, but did not raise my voice. she starting spewing that she had 60 people to care for! Guess our loved one was not in that number. She lied about an email that was sent to us about dinner times, nope nothing like that existed. we asked where she was for the agreed upon range of time for our arrival, said she didn't see an email or have a call. we emailed her at 7:40 am and called when we arrived. only could leave a voice mail. We had to fight to have a TV installed, another story for another time. Lastly the most rude and appalling comment out of this persons mouth was that if we didn't like it we should go back to where we came from. my loved one is not only stressed out because of this encounter he witnessed in his room (she should have had the professional courtesy to suggest that we go to her office to talk) but he is afraid that he won't get the care he needs! BTW we are paying $6500 for this type of treatment. Pathetic to say the least.

And as a result of a profit making organization, profit comes before residents comforts which is reflected in the mediocre quality of the facility. The quality of the resident's furnishings is 2nd hand at best and NOT clean. In the double rooms only a flimsy curtain separates the to roommates each with own television but no was to view when other resident's is on. Bedding is also of extremely poor quality and beds a never made the appropriate way: fitted sheet, too sheet, blanket and uncomfortable plastic pillow. Single room bedding not appropriate either. Housekeeping is indifferent. The nature of the resident's need will determine the CNA's performance. Unfortunately, the facility is woefully understaffed. This is reflected in the extremely long wait times for resident assistance. The quality of the CNA staff is worth noting notwithstanding the shortage. Mediocre, at best, appears the average performance level. A few superior CNA's and even more that need more training. Professionalism among the CNA's is marginal. Not so for RN's. There is NO consistency in the execution of tasks by CNA's. Everyone does things differently. There appears to be no policies for the work done by the CNA's. The food is absolutely disgusting and inedible. All canned and frozen. Nothing fresh. While the quality of the therapist is great, the equipment available to the PT department is either run down, I'll repaired or broken. The PT gym has very little quality equipment for the therapists to use. The front of building's public areas have been recently remodeled and look nice. However, this belies the grungy quality of the private, resident rooms. None of the above characteristics would provide a resident comfortable recovery. PLEASE DO NOT CHOOSE ARIA of Brookfield for rehabilitation therapy.

It started off with a cup of vegetable soup that, with the addition of just the right amount of crumbled up Ritz crackers, warmed my soul to the core. Next came a deliciously prepared grilled baloney sandwich with melted cheese on a toasted brioche bun. This sandwich took me back to my youth, much the way Ego was transported when he ate the ratatouille dish created by Rene in the movie. The masterpiece was made even more amazing by perfectly seasoned, fried shoestring potatoes. The climax to the meal was a masterful rendition of cake and ice cream presented in the form of a heavenly piece of devil's food chocolate cake topped with the creamiest of peanut butter frosting that would make a Reese's peanut butter cup weep. All of this was paired with a scoop of spumoni. An amalgamation of the most delicious chocolate, pistachio and cherry ice cream. The likes of which I have never experienced before. This experience would not have been possible had it not been for the flawless execution of our guide, Sherry, through this culinary excursion
