The Mash House, located at West Fork Whiskey in Westfield officially changed hands on June 26th 2026. I'm not sure what they will be calling it now. All I have heard is that the new owners are called "Hat and Stick," a more interactive and sports bar type establishment. I believe there will be than more than one place to eat there in the future. I will miss my favorite bartender there, Yvonne, and of course the Hush Puppies app and French Toast Whiskey!! Looking forward to what comes next. read more

I am in town for a work event and this was our selected night out location. It is sad to see this place closing/selling as the food, drinks and service were excellent. I had the Wings, Cheese Curds, Fried Pickles and Barrel Wood Pork Nachos. For dinner I had the Mash Signature Pork Tenderloin Sandwich, which was huge and delicious. This place was a fun stop on the road. We made a reservation here after our daughters soccer game in Westfield. I hate posting negative reviews for businesses but this one had to happen. Mash House has been a constant for us. Great food and service, close to home, all of the good things. I don't know if things have changed with the upcoming change to Stick n Hack but...things have changed. The upside is, our food was good yesterday. The downside, the service was awful...awful. The restaurant was pretty empty and they didn't have our table ready for our reservation so we waited, no problem. However, once we finally ordered our food and received it, our server didn't once come back to check on us. No extra napkins, refills, etc. Where was she? Sitting down on her phone. After clearing the table, she went back to sitting down and didn't come back to give our check, etc. What was she doing? Sitting down again and....vaping. WTF....our kids saw it and commented on it. We were nearby at the Grand Park Sports Campus and were thrilled to see a nice lunch spot so close by. Sometimes you really, really want to give a restaurant a good review, but you can't do it. The Mash House, located inside West Fork Whiskey, is one of those places that I would love to fully support, but all three times I've been there, the word "mediocre" even sounds like I'm being charitable. Food: I've been here three times, and all three times I've been disappointed. The sliders had a massive, dry bun, which ruined the entire concept. Keep in mind that White Castle is where the whole 'slider' concept came from, and their buns are steamed, almost to the point of melting in your mouth. I should never almost choke on a slider bun. Service: Last night's service was decent, but my other two visits left me wondering if anyone actually works here. Drinks ran dry, and huge groups of guests sucked all the attention away from a couple (my wife and I) just trying to order dinner. Ambiance: So, I'm a fan of whiskey, Bourbon, and distilleries in general. But, this place is loud. I mean, really loud. There's a "Chipotle" type of industrial decor thing happening here, and all that wood and metal doesn't absorb sound. Then, when you add a guitar-playing 1-man-band downstairs, you'll be screaming just to be heard. There are a lot of reviewers who have given this place great ratings, so take my review with a grain of salt. Visited The Mash House for Tenderloin Tuesday. The Tenderloin Sandwich was huge. I cut the tenderloin in half and took it home for a full size sandwich the next day. It wasn't cheap ($14 regular price) but I was participating In Hamilton Counties Tenderloin Trail so I had a $2 off coupon. Definitely worth that considering it made two lunch meals. My wife got the Pulled Pork Sandwich for $14. Again, not the cheapest lunch ... she did not have leftovers. But it was delicious and we would both get our meals again. Service was wonderful. The Mash House is the restaurant inside West Fork Whiskey. It feels slightly elevated (for Westfield), yet still casual and family-friendly. Like your best pair of cargo shorts that have been freshly pressed. I visited for a Yelp event years ago, but this visit, I spent my own paper, so now I get to review it. And what paper I spent! I guess I should start with the fact that my family of four spent over $90 for lunch. Holy mashed balls! Two adult meals, two kids meals, two soft drinks, one beer. I don't regret it, but I also might not pick this place as a place to take my family again any time soon. I would probably come back for appetizers and drinks by myself or with a friend. The meatloaf sandwich caught my eye, and because it's only on the lunch menu, I had to get it. I love a good meatloaf sandwich. This one at The Mash House is open-faced, served on thick bread and smothered with brown gravy. You eat it with a knife and fork. To me, it's less of a sandwich and more of what my mom used to make for dinner, which my dad called $@%# on a shingle. This shingle was very tasty, though. I just wouldn't call it a sandwich. It's served with fries. My children both got the kids' cheeseburger. Kids meals comes with your choice of fries or fruit, and my kids both chose fruit. (What! It's a miracle!) Please note: The kids' cheeseburgers here are made like a grilled cheese: hamburger and cheese between slices of toasted bread. My youngest protested at first, and was complaining that his burger wasn't a burger. But after I explained that sometimes burgers come in all shapes and sizes, and sometimes they look like patty melts, he was satisfied and ate all of his burger. I mention this to help other parents. Kids like what they like, and they sometimes don't like the things that they like to look like other things that they've never seen. So, head's up. Someone in my party made the brilliant decision to order the corn puppies, which are seven balls of corn and maybe curry and other heavenly things, served with the most delicious maple butter ever created. Remember how I said that next time I visit, I'm getting an appetizer and drinks? An order of corn puppies and a glass or two of beer or wine would be the most perfect meal. Get the corn puppies, is what I'm saying. The service at The Mash House is top-notch. The servers know the food and are quick and friendly. Happy hour wasn't very happy. First off, the place looks great, it's nice and modern, clean look. We came in at 4pm on Thursday. The place was empty, just a few guys at the downstairs bar. We, party of 10, got seated upstairs within 10 minutes, again no one else in the restaurant. No one greeted us as we came in or anything. The hostess, young blonde, seated us and was less than pleasant. She didn't say anything to us as we entered. She was unwilling to move 2 tables together in a empty restaurant to accommodate 10 of us so we split 7 and 3 at 2 tables. Then she returned with the menus and threw them on the table and walked away. The waiter, Larry, who might have been a busser, was in a hurry it seemed. He brought out water bottles which were the bourbon bottles filled with water that oddly he filled up out of a 5 gallon bucket. Not sure where the bucket came from but the water tasted horrible. We ordered appetizers and drinks, pretty fast turn around, and received the drinks in just a couple minutes. We drank our first round then waited around for another 10 minutes or so, no Larry in sight. He came back and got a few more drinks orders, about 5 minutes later he came back with appetizers and drinks. By this time it was 4:40 and 3 of us had a tour downstairs for 5:00. No time to eat for us so the rest of us ordered entrees. The food all around was really good, we had a variety of dishes but the service was just not up to any standard of good. The drinks were a crapshoot, some being good and others not at all. The tour was great with Calvin, and one of the owners walked through while on tour and was very nice. Not sure if it was an off day for the staff in the restaurant but a do not appreciate attitude when I'm coming to have a good time with friends and the staff is seemingly irritated with our presence. It would be a solid 4.5 without the staff problems but with it a 3.3. Extremely slow with the waiter coming back for drinks, it's a distillery, people come to drink, checking every 25 minutes if you need more drinks is unacceptable. I only had 1 drink myself because of the slowness. The pork chop is a banger, excellent. The salads were pretty good. The pulled pork nachos were very good and healthy portions. As far as drinks, the Slamma was the best by far, rest of them weren't great, they need a better mixologist as the ingredients sounded good but executed poorly. After we 3 guys left for the tour, the girls sat and drank more but they also said the service was still slow and bad, not professional at all. read more

My husband and I tried The Mash House which is also, West Fork Whisky for the first time and had a great experience! Our server was awesome I wish I remembered his name! He gave great recs for whisky sampling. My husband actually loved their house whisky the best. I'm not a whisky drinker but was pleased to see they offered Ash & Elm Cider (another local fav). The Old Hamer bourbon was terrific, probably because it comes from MGP not their distillery. I don't have enough time in my day to waste it here. Would not recommend. read more

The Mash House, located at the beautiful West Fork Whiskey in Westfield, is a beautiful space with tons of potential. Their location seems to accommodate larger groups well with lots of seating options downstairs and in their upstairs loft area. I'm sure this extra space will be useful given their proximity to Grand Park sports complex. Mash House has done a good job keeping the menu simple enough to get dishes out quickly on busier nights and still quality with fresh, local ingredients. I ordered their Double Mash Burger based on a server recommendation and it had a nice signature sauce and perfectly cooked Fischer Farms beef patties! I would definitely order it again whenever I return. All in all I enjoyed my experience at the Mash House. As they continue to get established in the area, I look forward to seeing more experimentation and new, unique concepts on the menu. read more

Wow, first off this facility is stunning. We first stopped at the mash house portion for lunch. This is their second officially day open and they are doing great. They definitely started getting busy so I would recommend a reservation if you don't want to wait. However, they have stuff to do while you wait like the Stave Lounge and tastings! I went here with a bunch of friends who had been here before and were raving about it. We ordered the corn puppies as the appetizer and recommend having 6 people to eat them. Each puppy is HUGE! The kids chicken tenders were fabulous, how do we get this on the adult menu?! I ordered the rigatoni Bolognese and it had so many fresh herbs added to it, it was very delicious! My husband ordered the mushroom and bluecheese burger. He said it was very good but wished the plate was larger to maneuver how big the burger was. The fries I stole from his plate were perfectly fried and salted just right. My friends order the chopped southwest salad and fish and chips, everyone enjoyed their food. Going to summarize the experience and food we had here on two visits. Cocktails here are definitely better than most places around..but our favorite would be the Walk the Line. Giddyup was also quite good. For appetizers we have tried the Corn puppies as well as Pork Rinds. Corn puppies are pretty good with its taste and texture. Pork Rinds was actually good for the most part, however there were few rinds off and on in the huge pile that had been cooked in low temp oil and hence was hard and oil soaked. My husband had tried the pork chop and the chicken pasta...the pork chop was better in his opinion. I had tried the double mash burger on my first visit and enjoyed it. Tried the tenderloin sandwich on my second visit and that was a big disappointment...nothing worse than chewy, dry meat. The tenderloin was not tenderized - it was a thick piece of tenderloin and frying it just made it chewier. I would never order that again. Overall, they have good items in their menu and perhaps not all their cooks are on par with the expected food quality? Definitely could be a great place if they can have consistency with their food. Servers are okay...first time we had a server that took forever to acknowledge and place water on our table. Our second time the server was much nicer and attentive.
