Unlike Costco or Wayfair, you can actually test the mattresses in store. I was happy to discover I really liked a model they had at a steep discount with the sale. Jackson S., the store manager, was very helpful and provided a lot of information about mattress types, warranties, brands, etc. I am new to mattress buying, so this was great information to know. He also offered to help in various ways such as assisting with warranties or the returns process if needed. Despite all his recommendations, I didn't feel like he was pressuring me to make a sale. He suggested a mattress protector, and when I asked if there were any cheaper options, he actually gave me a discount to match the price that some online retailers sell it for. The only caveat I have for this store is that the first time I visited, the store had a sign listed as "closed until 6 PM for lunch break," and it wasn't until maybe 5-10 minutes after 6 PM and someone knocking multiple times on the door that the store reopened. Relatively minor given the discount and quality of service. Now all that's left is for the mattress to be delivered, which will hopefully go well!

See our Reno 5 star review for Mattress Firm... This would have been our 3rd purchase from the brand. Quality/Quantity - Came in for the black friday sale. Maybe I should not have started the conversation with the "show me the affordable value" section?!?! Well he showed us a few mattresses but could NOT explain the difference to my daughter. He hesitantly showed us a few others after having to ask. He would not tell us the price, he said "just look at the tag." He would not tell us the current warranties, he just handed me a piece of paper. We normally would have asked the other salesperson to help, but I could tell she was not in the mood to work either... Every time we had a question, he would walk away and we would have to call him back. Atmosphere - Decent size location. Plenty of street and mall parking. Service - I get it, retail, black friday, early (earlier than usual) sales, etc. I get it, but all that does not justify the lack of service. Well no service. Actually, if anything, offensive service. For management this was on 11/29 at approximately 1pm with the man. Not busy at all, I think only one other customer. Two employees are just sitting at the desk, one female, one male. Guess he got the short end of the straw??? He also gave us a lot of wrong information on deliveries, warranties, exchanges, etc. Anyways, he kept walking away back to his desk to gossip with his co-worker. After the second time he did that, we just left. This is next level rude and lazy. I know it is hard to find good people, but this guy should NOT work with the public. I'm a 70 year old man and have had back issues for more than 10 years and hip issues for 5 years. During that time I have bought five or six mattresses, including Tempur-pedic, Sealey, Beautyrest and others that I can't remember! European Sleep Works is the only company that I know of in the San Francisco Bay Area that allows you to customize your mattress. I started out with a mattress that had two different layers of latex foam of two different grades of density. Those weren't quite firm enough so I traded the less dense one for another dense one. That was still not firm enough so they suggested adding a firming pad and removing one of the foam pads. It worked! Because the mattress is customizable, if after a year or two the foam pad softens up, I can open up the mattress and put in a new pad . The sales people were very knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating and worked patiently with me and all of my issues! I could tell that they genuinely cared about my comfort and health. The delivery guys were also very knowledgeable and friendly. Because I went from the Nordic mattress, which has two foam pads, to the Alpine mattress, which has only one, I received a refund for the difference between the mattresses and saved $400! An amazing company! I recommend it to all of my friends and even my former colleagues ( I recently retired)! Check it out!

Finally I found our European Sleep Works Mattress and could sleep comfortably again. It developed a bit of a sunk in spot two years ago so needed to be replaced. Our new mattress is every bit as comfortable as the first one. We expect it will prove equally durable. I'm so grateful we didn't need to go one a year long quest again to find a superb mattress. I did read the post mentioning mold smell in the showroom. We noticed that too. We were not there long enough to be affected and the mattresses are not made or stored there so it didn't bother us, but we felt some concern for the staff working there full time. I suspect the smell could be a big negative from a marketing perspective. Fortunately, we already had great confidence in the product.
