BUYER BEWARE!!!
1/7/16 Purchased 4 cases of meat from The Meat Shoppe & a small chest freezer was given (salesman-Bryon Linaweaver). Bryon assured us that the meat he was selling was top quality. He even went into very specific detail about the farms they purchased their meats from and how you can tell the meats he was selling are top quality.
Between 1/8-1/28 We cooked and ate 1 tenderloin, 2 packs of burgers and 3 pieces of white wine chicken. The tenderloin and burgers were subpar and the chicken was rubbery and distasteful.
1/29/16 I left a message at The Meat Shoppe, as well as on Bryon Linaweaver's cell number, which he provided on our sales receipt. Mike Pfeifer, customer service, returned my call. I explained that I was unhappy with the meat I ordered. Mike asked me various questions: what we tried, how much we bought, what we paid, the date of the sale and the name of the salesman. Mike said he would look into the matter and call me back, which he did. He said someone would be calling me within the next few days.
2/2/16 Bobby Trent left a message on my home number.
2/3/16 I spoke with Bobby. He explained that he was in the truck with Bryon on the night of our sale. He asked me the same questions Mike asked me and I gave him the same information. He ended the call by saying that he needed to speak with someone in accounts but would call me back shortly.
2/3/16 (later in the day) I place a follow-up call to Bobby and left a message on his voicemail.
2/4/16 Still no return call from Bobby so I called again. A child answered his phone then hung up. I called a second time. The child answered again. I asked for Bobby. Bobby came to the phone and said he couldn't talk because he was in the hospital.
2/4/16 I called Mike Pfeiffer and left a message.
2/4/16 Mike returned my call, said he would text the owners and managers (7 people) and would have this matter resolved.
2/4/16 William Tunney, the owner of the Baltimore Meat Shoppe called me. Again, he asked for the SAME information that I had given to Mike Pfeiffer on 1/29/16 and Bobby Trent on
2/3/16. He said that he needed to speak with Bryon (the salesman) to find out what quality meat he sold us and that he could call me back the following day between 12:00-2:00.
2/5/16 NO CALL from William Tunney, the owner of the Baltimore Meat Shoppe.
2/8/16 I left a message for William Tunney on his voicemail. William called back later in the day and set up a date/time (2/12/16 between 11:00-4:00) for someone to come out to our house with a check for a little over half the amount we paid, plus they would replace all the meat they originally sold us with "top quality" meat. He also asked that I call the night before (2/11/16) to confirm our time.
2/11/16 I left a message on William's answering machine saying that I would be available from 2:00 on for someone to come to our house. I left both my cell phone number and my home number.
2/12/16 NO ONE CAME. NO ONE CALLED.
2/12/16 I called Liam to let him no that no one came. His excuse was that 2:00 wasn't convenient. I pointed out that 2:00 was within the window he originally set and that no one bothered to call to say that 2:00 didn't work. He set up a new date/time (2/17/16 at 5:00 pm) and said that he would be sending one of his managers.
2/17/16 NO ONE CAME. NO ONE CALLED.
2/17/16 I left yet another message for William saying that no one came at the time we arranged.
2/17/16 Moments after leaving the message for William, Mike Pfeifer (customer service) called, asked for our home address, and said that they would mail us a check for our full amount.
2/17/16 at 9:27pm Robert Owens (marketing) called and said that he needed to come out and get the meat and freezer they sold us and he would bring a check for the full amount. He said that he would call back the following day to set up a date/time.
2/18/18 Robert Owens called and we set up 2/25/16 between 11:00-12:00. Robert assured me that he would be at our house during that time and no additional calls or reminders were needed.
2/25/16 NO ONE CALLED. NO ONE CAME.
2/25/16 (at approximately 1:15 pm) I shared this same review on The Meat Shoppe Facebook page. Almost immediately, I received a PM from The Meat Shoppe asking for my phone number, even though no less than 4 other employees already have my phone number(s). They also stated that I would be contacted by someone in customer service. I responded and gave them both my home number and cell number. At approximately 3:30pm I looked back on The Meat Shoppe Facebook page and my review had been removed. The only reviews remaining are positive ones.
