If you want a cardboard sandwich this is the place to go. No sauce, over cooked bread. Not worth $50, not even close.

My friend suggest we meet at the Sage Cafe for lunch, located inside the Carson Tahoe Hospital. I've been here before, and liked it, so I wasn't surprised at wanting to have lunch at a hospital! He said they opened the wok stir fry station that was closed for a long time. He said it was really good and you get to make up you own wok fry my just checking off on a list of ingredients of what you want. We meet up there, you just have to sign in at the front desk as you enter first. The inside looks same as it always did, open and clean. We go over to the stir fry station on the back to the right. For $8.65 you get to pick out all the stuff you want, no limit, but I do think they go my total weight, so like if you pick 2 meats, you get less of each one, still generous with the stuff you pick though. We just filled out the little forms, circling what we wanted. They even offered shrimp for no extra cost. You won't get that in any Chinese restaurant! I got shrimp for my protein and the chef put a ton of it in! My friend had a combo of chicken and shrimp. We watched as the chef tossed our stuff in the air in the wok. They run induction burners, so no giant flames ... prob a good thing inside a hospital! Our food is served in to go boxes, no plates here. Wow, the food was super scrumptious, I liked our selection of ingredients. I'd say with this wok stir fry station open now, get yourself over here and have lunch. It starts at 11 am. $8.65 with no tax is way cheaper than any Chinese restaurant these days!

I was gonna get something like fries but they had.clam chowder today so I think why not hot soup to beat the heat. The soup had some pretty big chunks of clams in it so that was nice. Don't discount hospital cafeterias, this cafe in the the hospital is pretty darn good compared to some I have tried. They definitely pride themselves in keeping the standards up at this hospital.

Everything was first class except for exceotional slow service. We were the only two people in the restaurant and ordered ONE sandwich. I realize they also have a drive thru and online orders to fulfill, but it was nearly 20 minutes. Thatt seems like at least double the time it should take to fulfil the order of your only dining room customers (based on my experience with other Capriotti's.). Otherwise, the sandwich was spectacular and the facility was clean and charming. Would visit again!

So I decided to get him a kids meal. This came with a bag of chips, the selection was weak and I picked sour cream and onions potato chips along with a grilled cheese sandwich and paid extra for a soft drink. I guess I was so focused on my grandson, not quite 3 years old, and left the restaurant without the grilled cheese sandwich. The young ( I think he was thirteen years old) boy who took my order said nothing to me. Yes, he just watched me walk off without the grilled cheese sandwich. Should I go back and ask for it? I'm not sure. I want to give a good review however, I'm not returning to this establishment again.

The service was outstanding -- friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to make sure everything was perfect. My order came out quickly, and every detail was spot on. Now the food... truly exceptional. The burger was one of the best I've ever had: perfectly cooked, incredibly juicy, and packed with flavor. The bun was soft but held together beautifully, and the toppings were fresh and high quality. You can tell they don't cut corners here. The fries were crisp and golden, seasoned just right, and the dipping sauces were actually worth raving about. Even the pricing felt fair for the quality you get. Every bite tasted like something crafted with care, not just thrown together. Overall, this is the kind of place you look forward to coming back to. Whether you're a burger lover or just someone looking for a great meal, you won't be disappointed. Highly recommended.

What a fantastic breakfast spot!! This is a little out of the way from the main South Lake Tahoe…read moredowntown but is well worth the short drive or would be great to hit on the way in / out. I ordered the deluxe eggs benedict, which they kindly added chorizo to in lieu of Canadian bacon; my boyfriend ordered the sausage, biscuits and gravy; and we shared the coconut french toast because we just really wanted to try it! The servings are large but we ate nearly everything, and needless to say we were stuffed! I absolutely loved the chorizo--might be my favorite from a restaurant. The French toast was nearly perfect too, as it was thick and soft / moist but not soggy. I loved the coconut but feel the normal French toast would've been great too. Everything tasted fresh and house-made, as they say it is. The staff was incredibly nice and I believe the owner was at the front hosting people, which goes to show the service, thought and effort that goes into this place! Will definitely come back when in the area again.

The poached eggs were done perfectly and the English muffins were not burnt. (I have, unfortunately, experienced that before at another location.) My sister's breakfast was the corn beef hash, which really did look homemade, (unlike another restaurant in the area that served me what I believed was canned corn beef hash with almost soup texture.) her fruit was ripe. I do believe she very much enjoyed the breakfast. I may not be 100% correct on this, but I was rather disappointed in the hollandaise, it was a bit 'flat'. As far as I can tell, it was not true hollandaise. Most probably it was an egg Béchamel. It had a very creamy texture, a small tendency to congeal on the top, and lacked the bright zing of lemon and buttery texture and flavor of true hollandaise. Indicators, its lack of a slightly translucent and glossy finish, the lack of the acidity of lemon juice or vinegar, and did not weep butter, but instead seem to thicken and form a slight crust as I finished the Benedicts. The egg, Benedict were very tasty, but the hollandaise sauce with disappointing. (I really do like a good hollandaise.)

Here is what we noticed: - It's a pretty unassuming place...we parked in the side lot and walked around to their main entrance. They even had some specials highlighted as we entered. - Inside there is lots of seating...when we arrived the front of the place was empty, but people were sitting there when we left and we noticed that it is much quieter in that section of the restaurant than in the main dining room. - As others have noted, chorizo is their specialty and it's in many of the dishes. And, it is worth it!...and, not spicy like you might think of chorizo. My wife and I ordered the Quesadilla and the Basque Omelette, and we split both (plus, we took some home too). Each dish was really good in its own right, and being able to have the chorizo prepared two ways was great. Their home fries were really tasty too. - Service was good....very attentive, especially considering that it took us a while to decide what to order given the breadth of the menu. - We paid cash because of their sign indicating that that was preferred. Bottom line: We'd go back to Villa Basque Cafe anytime we're in Carson City...next time, we'd like to try some of their lunch options!
