The updates are nice and opens up the restaurant, but I kind of miss the tall "wall" dividers that made it seem really private. We were sat in the bar area, which wasn't preferred for our anniversary dinner. But we were trying to just go with it. Our server and his trainee were very nice and accommodating. They were attentive and helpful, which made up for the loudmouth lady in the booth next to us. We had plenty of food and enjoyed every course. The corn on the cob "slices" were a little hard to eat, but all of the other veggies, fruits, meats, chicken and fish were great. The servers reviewed cooking times, but a visual at the table would help. I ended up looking online for reminders. Overall, we had a nice visit. I visited with my boyfriend's family for Christmas Eve dinner while we were in town. We had a reservation for 5pm and were sat probably 15 minutes late. I will say it was decorated nicely for Christmas and had a roomy waiting area with couches. They offered a tiered menu, which included 4 courses (cheese fondue, salad, main, and dessert)--the entire table had to then agree on one of the tiers, which were separated by cost (meaning everyone gets the same cheese, salad, etc., aside from the cooking style for the main)--the whole thing was a bit confusing. Although it was busy, I still feel that our waits for drinks and between courses was fairly long. The servers definitely seemed to be doing their best--perhaps the kitchen was a little backed up? Overall the food was pretty good, and the experience was fun. Although I would avoid the grill cooking option-- it was just a little too labor intensive in my opinion for this setting (and everything was sticking to it pretty bad). read more

There's a time in place for this restaurant. If you want to come here, take your time and celebrate, it makes sense for that. If you're ready to just come in and eat, this might not be the place. You have to cook each of the courses you're served excluding the salad and if you don't want all four courses for two people, by the time you buy an entrée and a salad you're paying the same price. The best thing about this restaurant is the service and the holiday cocktails. Our dining experience was pleasant enough. The atmosphere is nice. It was quiet on a Sunday evening. Our server was very friendly and we enjoyed the food. My only complaint is that I had looked at the website and saw that they had a special running Sunday- Thursday for 3 course $55 per person. I didn't see this anywhere on the menu and had to ask the server. Then she brought out these special menus. Seemed like they were trying not to tell customers about the special offers which seems a little shady. Visited Melting Pot last weekend with my partner to celebrate our anniversary. This was our first time doing a dining experience like this, so we went in with no expectations. You can choose from two full experience's or go with their a la carte option. I did reservations on OpenTable to reserve our time. I highly recommended doing reservations, because they book up quickly. We were greeted by the hostess, which was super sweet and we got seated pretty quickly! I had booked through OpenTable -- for roses to be on the table with candles and a single rose, which was on our table when we got seated. (Nice touch & can be done for an extra cost, see their available packages and pricing on OpenTable) The restaurant had a great ambiance dim, romantic lighting, comfortable seating. It's really loud in here though between folks having conversations and the steam/sounds of cooking all around you. If you want more of an intimate experience, plan for an early dinner. The later it gets the more folks begin to pour in. Our server, Matt, was excellent. He walked us through the menu with ease and provided several recommendations when we couldn't decide. Make sure you look over the menu well, you will need to place your whole meal (besides dessert fondue) before your experience begins. We went with the Classic Alpine for our cheese fondue. It was alright, but had a harsh aftertaste after eating multiple bites with it. You get bread, seasonal fruits and veggies to dip in the cheese. If we went again, we'd probably pick a different cheese option. We both had the house salad for our next course. It was your average house salad: I got ranch, my girlfriend went with honey mustard. We both wished there was more dressing on the salad, but I ate all of it anyways. Moving to the entree, we with the "big night out" option with the Coq Au Vin cooking style. We set timers on our food to ensure we were cooking everything properly. They give you three skewers to cook the items. They also bring out a dish with several different sauce options for your meat. Everything was pretty good, nothing over the top though. I wasn't that big of a fan of the Coq Au Vin taste. For our chocolate fondue, we picked the original (milk chocolate). This was by far the best part of the course. The dippers and the chocolate was delicious together. We would've ate more, but we were stuffed from everything else. Our server brought out a plate with "Happy Anniversary" on it, which was a nice touch. Overall, it was a unique experience for sure. Our server was very attentive during the whole experience. He kept the food coming out and checked back often to see if we needed anymore dippers, utensils, or drinks. Come with an empty stomach, because you will be consuming a lot of food. The price is the thing that got me. It's a unique experience, but probably a one and done for us unless we come back for a round of dessert fondue. read more

First time at the melting pot, and it was soooooo cool! They have thursdate night event going on every Thursday, which consists of their big night out dinner for two and special chocolate fondue. We got the complete dinner for two instead. Despite having to share the cheese, entree is one set each! So you get to choose what meat you want! We ordered the Quattro Formaggio for our cheese. Our cooking pot was Coq Au Vin, which was a good broth base. But mixing it with Quattro Formaggio, the wine taste was kinda strong. Would recommend a different cheese fondue instead. Since you can keep the cheese to dip with your entree, we felt a little tipsy eating The highlight of this is probably the cookie and cream chocolate fondue! I absolutely love it! It's dark chocolate with marshmallow and oreo cookie crumbles. They even pour fire down the pot to melt the marshmallow! It's so pretty and amazing! It's free refill on the dippers. You just tell them what you would like and they will bring you more. Highly recommend the brownie! It tastes amazing with the chocolate fondue! We did the 4 course dinner for 2, with the tabletop grill option. Service was absolutely incredible. Aside from that, my main suggestion would be to NOT suggest the grill your own option. There are several reasons why i wouldn't do this again but mainly, the grill takes the burner up on the table, so your cheese pot just sits and gets cold. The start with I'm giving three stars because my wife won't let me leave less. We had a reservation for 5:15 for 6 plus a high chair. We were seated at a table for 6 with a high chair at the end and then the had us move to another table because they didn't want a high chair at the end. (Then they should have given us a larger table to start with) Once seated our server came and took our drink order and presented us with menus. After being gone for quite awhile she came back with our drinks and explained the menu. One in our party has to have gluten free food which they said they could accommodate. We all ordered and his was kept separate. We were all careful not to dip or cook anything in his gluten free pots except for his wife who also ate the gluten free food because she use to it. After the cheese fondue round they cleared the table and brought out the meat round which took forever to get. Again he was the only one using the grill as the rest of us used the oil pots. This was over two hours after we were seated. They seemed to be in no hurry. After eating they again cleared the table. Several times we had to ask for our drinks to be filled. Our server offered a pitcher of water for those of us that were drinking water but she never brought it. Not long after our meat round was finished my son in law ended up in the men's room doing what happens when he has gluten. He was in there well over 30 + minutes. During this time he was texting his wife to say that he may not be out for a while. After waiting and waiting for our dessert round we had to flag down a manager to see if she could speed things up. She did and at that time we were into hour three of being there. Needless to say my son in law missed the dessert round and at that point I'm sure he didn't want it anyway. When he came out they immediately left for home while the other four of us finished eating and paid the bill. As they were getting up my four year old granddaughter who was extremely well behaved this evening scooted out of the booth only to have a different server yell, "excuse me" at her in a not so nice of a way. He could have been a little nicer about it seeing that she was a small child. Our total for the evening was in the $400's which is about what I expected and that doesn't bother me at all. I don't know why but my wife added 25% as a tip which IMO was way over what I would have tipped this server. Needless to say I was not happy with the service or what I believe was cross contamination of the gluten free food with the regular meals. Just be aware that if anyone in your party has special food needs they may not receive it. Three plus hours for a table of six adults to be served regardless of the noted four rounds is ridiculous. As for the steak we received it was tough regardless of how we cooked it. Everything was pre-seasoned which my wife wasn't a fan of. I think my favorite part was the Caesar salad but wish they had left the little sweet things off of it. Fortunately I could pick them out. Food was good. Server was sweet and perky but very slow leaving us waiting way too much. We had 5 people in our family group. We were there going on 4 long hours! A lot of just sitting and wondering when she was coming back. Also I asked for more potatoes 3 times. It wasn't until my husband asked while I was in the restroom that she finally brought them. I also stopped on my way back to ask another server to ask her for them bc I could not find our server. After all that I found a long hair buried deep inside my raw meat but hanging out the end. So gross! I didn't say anything to anyone else except my husband bc l figured it was an isolated problem and I didn't want to ruin their meals. Later after we left I did mention it and was told they found the same thing in their food. Now I'm really grossed out!!! Bottom line, too slow leaving us twiddling our thumbs. Server did not follow through on bringing us extra things after asking us if we'd like more over and over again. And there was disgusting hair in the meats on both ends of our table! We were there going on 4 hours. Took away from our game playing time we had planned with our grandson after we got back home. It has never taken this long there before and we have been many times. Wow! What an experience! The food was amazing and so were the servers. We had 5 people and got 2 pots which was plenty. I personally got the Caesar salad and "the classic" for my entrée. Both were delicious but I couldn't eat all of my entrée because I was so full! It was delicious. WARNING: you receive all of the food raw so if that bothers you, take that into consideration. They give you two plates...one for the raw food and one for the cooked. If the raw touches the cooked plate, they will bring you another. They are also very considerable about Gluten free which was amazing. They have a gluten free dessert plate and most of their other food was gluten free. They were also willing to bring out another bowl so there was no cross contamination. She also mentioned a separate kitchen for it! They had 6 sauces and each table had a plate of veggies. I got the Court Bullion pot as well as the Coq Au Vin pot. Both were delicious but I prefer the Coq Au Vin. Lastly we had dessert! We got the Flaming Turtle and the Yin & Yang. We went here for our second year anniversary and reserved a table with that premise. We did The Big Night Out. The atmosphere felt romantic but fun. The waiting staff was great but they did seem a bit busy. I will say I was a bit disappointed when we arrived and saw nothing romantic setup considering I let them know a week in advance, then day of, this was a special day... I figured maybe they were going to surprised us. She just wanted a Shirley Temple and I got an adult beverage. We then placed our order and the appetizer came out. It had an array of different things from bread to veggies to dip in the cheese (forget what we got, I believe it was just the one recommended). The appertizer was definitely fun. We then got our salads which were delicious and fresh. I was still hoping maybe they would surprise us with champagne or something like many other places at this price range do... but I had hope for dinner. Dinner comes around and we got the Big Night Out with the wine style (also recommended) cooking oil. Another fun experience and we learned it's best to put in a few skewers at once to not overcrowded. Everything was tasty. No drinks so I gave up home. Dessert was last and we got the turtle and it was absolutely amazing. Don't get me wrong I love filet, I love flank, I love chicken, I love shrimp but this was great. Playful, romantic, fun, and more important decadent and delicious. Wish I could have brought it home but pretty sure I'd end up diabetic... and I don't even like sweets much (unless it's soft served). Anyways, it was a very fun experience and great food. It was romantic but also playful and interactive. My only complaint is that anytime I spend that much money (plus a 25% tip) and they know it's a special occasion I figure we will atleast get a "Happy Anniversary" at the least but I was hoping for similar to what they do THURSDAY EVERY THURSDAY lol... or like most places, a complimentary glass or champagne or dessert (probably not here) With that said I'd probably come here with a group of our friends but would likely never celebrate a special occasion here. The melting pot has been around for quite some time. To me, it's a classic restaurant that I even loved in high school. My boyfriend wanted to take me here to celebrate Valentine's Day early (we both are incredibly busy!) and I was super excited. It has been countless years since I have stepped foot into a Melting Pot. He told me he made reservations ahead of time, selected the four course special and added flowers and lit candles for a romantic experience. I was heart pumping excited and ready to dip and dunk in the cheese and chocolate fondue! We were taken to our table after it "was prepared" which only took a few minutes. There was rose petals (extra $7), six roses in a vase (extra $25) and a LED flameless tea light candle. It looked great and had me smiling when I saw it! Next time though, I would skip on these extras. They just didn't seem to reflect the price of each item. The roses were snipped so short they were falling out of the vase and we expected a real candle lit. When booking the reservation, they follow up with a call to confirm details and slide the extras in there. My boyfriend had no idea of the extra fees for the above until we got the check. The four course meal was quite the experience. We had no idea we would end up being there 3 hours and time went by fast. We started with salads which were fresh and delicious. Then we selected the spinach artichoke dip for our cheese fondue. You get a nice selection of items to dip into the cheese and it was good. They combine salty and sweet, which gives you options. Next we got our meat selection (we went with steak) and our base to cook it in. There was a nice selection of steak, chicken, pork, shrimp on our platter. The base we got was full of flavor and we enjoyed that. You also get a very small portion of veggies that come with the meat to cook with as well. There is a nice selection of sauces for the veggies and meat that come out as well. My two favorite was the Green Goddess Sauce and Gorgonzola Port Sauce. I think I covered each item on my fork with one or the other. I wasn't a fan of the other choices personally. For the best part of the meal, we got the S'mores chocolate fondue. The description, the picture it all looked great! It's a milk chocolate swirled with marshmallow cream and topped with graham cracker. They light it on fire which makes the marshmallow look like a fireside s'more. The items we got to dip were great. Our favorite was the shortbread and rice crispy to dip into the chocolate. I thought it was good but I wasn't like this is soo good I could drink it. It just didn't have the wow factor I was expecting. Overall we had a great experience during our time there. Our waitress PJ was great and very attentive. It was a fun, one and done kind of experience for us. I'm glad we did it and added the romance of Valentine's Day. I would suggest making sure you have plenty of time if you do the four course meal and skipping on the extra flowers and things to save the $32! Sadly the end of a tradition for us. Went for our annual Anniversary dinner. Might as well have visited a fast food joint. The waitress was extremely rushed, for whatever reason. We typically love the experience, which is why we go once a year, just us, no kids. Usually the service is great and they take the time to talk about the food, experience, your reason for dining. She could have cared less. Made several mistakes because she was literally in such a rush. We asked the difference in two of the cheeses, she told us twice which one we were getting. Never explained the two dishes, just told us which one we were getting. Just an overall off putting experience. Anyway, I could go on, but I guess the point is she clearly wanted us in and out. We were going to try out the restaurant week special, but decided to go with the standard 4 course. We tried the Wisconsin Cheddar, it was so good! The dessert we tried the Flaming Turtle, oh my goodness, I could have ate that everyday. It was so delicious. The part that wasn't for us, was the main course. It was just a strange concept cooking meat in the pot. All the meat came out with the same texture, which just wasn't for us. Flavor wise, we chose the Mojo for our pot. It was good, lots of citrus. The herb crusted chicken was good in it. The table and surrounding area is really nice. Again, can't be said enough, the staff was so awesome! I suggest spending the extra for a better cooking sauce bc I can't imagine just the broth would have been good. The Melting Pot has always been a go to for my family - my mom has been going to Melting Pots since she was a teen! Naturally, it had fallen on my rotation whenever I want a nicer dinner in the area and this location has been consistently great for the past couple of years for me. They offer a la carte and a four-course option - generally I go for the a la carte and just get the cheese and entree portion since that is more than enough for me! For the cheese I always go with the classic alpine which is perfect for those who love a good garlic, nutmeg, wine, and cheese combo. They give lots of bread, apples, and carrots and you can always ask for more "dippers". For the meat, I do a create my own with the beef teriyaki, garlic pepper steak, and herb-crusted chicken. The bourgignone is basically oil that you can fry your meat in and it is my personal favorite with the tempura batter. The service here is always excellent and they will be sure to make any special occasions stand out. It is a very collaborative service environment so while you have one waiter, there is a whole team that's helping change out your pots and bring drinks.
