I had a late lunch. As soon as I stepped in I was greeted. I sat by the water outdoors. There is outdoor of indoor seating. All staff were super friendly, several checked in on me. They def knew their menu. Immediately brought water with cucumber and lemon, very refreshing. I ordered the bread with butter to start, it was excellent. That butter just melts on every bite, taking the bread to the next level. Staff recommended the Rachel pastrami. It did not disappoint. It was very simple. However the combination of the thousand Island, sauerkraut, the pastrami and buttered bread just made it so delicious. It was decently meat packed too. The sandwich came with fries which I inhaled the ketchup that they brought me extra. It also came with two types of coleslaw both were delish. They were not overwhelming with dressing. The yellow one was interesting bc I thought it was turmeric but it was slightly sweet. Delish as well. Also ordered their Italian prosecco. I'm into red wine but for some reason perhaps the environment I felt the prosecco would work and it did! It was bubbly refreshing, tasty, and not dry. Their restroom was big and clean. Such a cute, quaint little spot tucked away in Glen Ellen! The setting is beautiful, especially with the historic water wheel running alongside the restaurant. It has a cozy, rustic charm that makes you want to slow down and enjoy your meal. Here's what we tried: Lemon Drop Martini - Refreshing and well-balanced. A solid way to kick off lunch. Della Fattoria Bread - Our waiter hyped it up as "the best bread in California." Maybe my expectations were a little too high because...it was just okay to me. Good, but not the showstopper I was expecting. Brussels Sprouts - These were really good! Perfectly roasted with lots of flavor. Spicy Sweet Chili Wings - THE STAR OF THE SHOW! These were hands down the best thing we ordered. Crispy, sticky, sweet with just the right amount of heat...absolutely delicious! I'd honestly come back just for these. Clam Chowder - Creamy, comforting, and a nice starter. Bacon Cheeseburger - A solid burger that definitely hit the spot. My only real complaint? The wings. Not the flavor--the portion size. For $20, I think the order should include at least 8-10 wings. You get six (the sixth one is hiding under the garnish in my photo ), and one of them was noticeably smaller than the others. They were so good that I just wished there had been more! Overall, I really enjoyed my visit. This review is not specifically for the food itself, but for the manager, the staff and the service. We got here right when they just opened for lunch on a Friday. We didn't have reservations, but they get us seated right away. My girls were tired and hungry so they started to cry. Some other people from the tables around us showed some irritation. I told the manager and staff to pack our foods to go because I feel bad for making people feel uncomfortable with my crying children. The manager reassured us that we were fine. She even brought the girls some fruits while we waited for our food. We ended up taking our food to go, however we appreciate the thoughtfulness. We definitely will be back! read more

We came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and can't wait to come back to celebrate more happy times together. Staff hustle and bustle here. There's plenty of parking in their lot. Get the pork chop, very succulent. Last time the gorgeous patio was not open; it is now. The little walk through the mill is so cute with mini waterfalls flowing through the creek and birds chirping. They have a decent menu of cocktails, beer and wines...never an empty glass of water btw. They have Della Fattoria bread FTW! Who doesn't love Della Fattoria fresh breads, not really a question! Came here for Mother's Day and unfortunately it did not meet the star ratings on yelp. Granted, the menu did warn us upon sitting that it's hard to find staff and that the wait maybe a little long. That being said, it took about 2 hours to get our food. Other tables seated after us got their food before we did. My husband's $45 pork chop was thin and dry. My filet was pretty good but nothing special given the price of $65. The servers were all super kind and working very hard which is why more than one star, but I can't say the food was worth the wait unfortunately. Be sure to ask to sit outside-it seems to have a beautiful deck with great tree cover. We were inside and there were flies buzzing about. read more

Our group of 6 were touring Sonoma Valley and selected The Mill as our lunch spot. We made reservations ahead for their outdoor patio, and our table was already ready for us when we arrived. The outdoor patio was perfect for the lovely sunny day. Large umbrellas provided shade while the many plants and decor on the patio, and the greenery surrounding the patio, gave a charming vibe. The wait staff was terrific. The server explained the menu and recommended customers' favorites. Our group had their wonderful clam chowders, caesar salad, fire oven pizzas, and wagyu burgers. We loved that where we were sharing dishes, the kitchen thoughtfully split the entree or appetizer into separate plates/bowls. I think they also increased the portions a little as well which was really generous of them. The chowder and burgers were really good as our server promised. We enjoyed a nice sunny afternoon without feeling rushed. We would come back again for the terrific food and great service. read more

My friends and I are confused by how highly rated this restaurant is. Food was below average tasted like it was reheated in a microwave. Service was amazing. Everyone was so attentive and so sweet. The environment was beautiful and cozy. Loksa: 3.5/5 the udon noodles had a weird texture. They should be pretty smooth and bouncy but this one tasted overcooked? Or maybe the noodles were sitting in the soup for too long. Veggie pizza: 3/5 absolutely nothing special about this pizza. The breading just broke apart, like a stale piece of bread. The cheese had no flavor tomato sauce just tasted straight out of a tomato paste can. Overall, I felt like everything we ordered was pretty bland in flavor. This is a hidden gem, which should rightfully deserve much more recognition. The atmosphere, staff and service, and food hit every mark I'd expect at a high end restaurant. Stopped in for a birthday dinner for my birthday weekend and truly felt like a king. Right from the start, we were greeted by friendly staff and promptly seated. Before even getting settled in, we were offered fresh cucumber and lemon infused ice water, and like clockwork, our wonderful waitress, Alex, gave us a quick run down of the menu and top hits. We ended up ordering the bread, Brussels sprouts, clam chowder, and pork chops. Every dish was fresh, tasted amazing, and had the presentation of an upscale restaurant. Even the birthday treat and celebration by the whole staff made me feel warm, welcomed, and appreciated. Our service could not have been any better. Due to confusion with a reservation, the manager comped part of our order. The bread that is crisped and dipped in olive oil with Parmesan is to die for. My friend enjoyed their black bean soup very much - loads of veggies and not too chick. My Caesar salad was a bit blah although large- I was unable to finish. We had a wonderful experience here. We came to celebrate my dad and my husbands birthdays. The entire staff was wonderful. Everybody that worked there went above and beyond and we really appreciated them making it a special evening. The food was fantastic! We ordered a bunch of dishes and did a family style meal and everything was out of this world. You can tell that everybody there really takes pride in giving you a well rounded meal/experience and a lot of care is put in into running this business. The atmosphere is very charming and relaxing. May 2, 2025 Exceptional. The food, the service, and the outdoor garden patio seating next to Sonoma Creek all made for a wonderful dining experience. We arrived, with our pup, just as they opened. We were able to get a table with a view overlooking Sonoma Creek. The outdoor patio is filled with beautiful plants and flowers, hummingbird feeders and hummingbirds. You feel happy just being there. The servers are friendly and pretty much amazing. We were treated like special honored guests. Our puppy was given a water bowl and a giant milk bone. Service was quick, and attentive. Our water glasses did not even get half way to empty before they were filled again. And the food! We ordered the Warm Della Fattoria ($10). It was delicious, served with parmesan, butter and olive oil. I also ordered a wonderful glass of rose'. For our main course, my husband and I decided to split the butternut squash ravioli (with braised greens, butternut squash, roasted chestnuts and a luscious lemon cream sauce). The kitchen split the meal for us, beautifully individually plating each serving. A++++ Everything was so delicious, we could not leave without having dessert. Just a wonderful experience from start to finish. After arriving without a reservation for lunch, the staff graciously accommodated us with water and a bench. This is worth the drive. The venue is beyond gorgeous and the food is so good and the staff is very friendly and attentive. I chose to sit on the patio because of how beautiful it was. Inside was nice too. I started the bread, which was covered in olive oil, basil and parmesian. So good. Next I had the House green salad which was almost too pretty to eat. The entree was the New Zealand rack of lamb. This was so well prepared and came with garlic mashed potatoes and beautiful vegetables. I ended the meal with the Basque cheesecake. We had the masala potatoes, the house salad, the wagu burger, a chocolate cake and the cheesecake - all extremely yummy! My boyfriend wanted the chocolate cake and I wanted the cheesecake so I agreed to the chocolate cake but they brought out a complementary cheesecake .Tony and Sasha took really good care of us. Enjoyed dinner here: mix green salad with delicious vinaigrette, brussel sprouts, house pizza, churros. Brussel sprouts were roasted well - bacon bits, balsamic glaze and grated cheese were an excellent mix. Churros came with dark chocolate sauce, caramel sauce and berries. Caramel sauce was so tasty and not your typical grocery store syrup. Some of the best service we've had at a restaurant in Sonoma (where service is already pretty good overall.) Service. Greeted immediately and open seating so we grabbed a spot above the creek but later realized it was on the way to the service entrance for the kitchen. Ambiance. We were taken aback by the clutter and random struggling plants and planters and colored lights that appeared to be leftover holiday decor. The aesthetic didn't align with the historic building or setting so it was a mismatch. Rather distracting and odd to have an igloo cooler on a shelf outside the kitchen - what was in there? Food. It was ok. The menu has a lot of Indian dishes which was surprising. Maybe the chef or owners are Indian? Prices seemed high for quality and presentation. In Sonoma, I am thinking of more farm to fork cuisine but we saw other reviews. We tried the flat bread with fried chickpeas and goat cheese spread? While it was good, I'm afraid the flatbread was premade and they just reheated with a few toppings. Split the wagyu burger and while it was good, it was also a premade bun not bakery quality with prepackaged Cole slaw and the pickled vegetables appeared to be the same Cole slaw with spices. The fries were also in oil that didn't taste good. I walked by the neighboring Songbird and was pretty sad it was only open for dinner as it is more of what I was thinking of. This was the standout experience of our trip! Looks pretty unassuming, but the creativity and attention to the craft of cooking is stellar. We were a party of six and ordered a variety of dishes. All were terrific (except for the pizza which was just okay). The noodle soup and the vegetarian croquettes were so good. And the bread appetizer dish is something I think about regularly. Order that for sure. Sounds simple, but the flavor combo is fantastic! Also, the service was impeccable. I've had some great experiences there but not all of them. If I had the pre-Fix meal the first time I went I would not have gone back. Love the butternut squash raviolis but I got maybe half the regular size and nowhere near as pretty as set up with the shaved parmesan. You need to look to see what the specials are prior because you may want to go for scallops like my friend but they didn't have them that particular night. The pork chops are thick and nicely grilled but mine was overcooked both times. The brussels sprouts are to die for! I don't really care for any of the desserts but I'm not a huge dessert person anyway. Especially the one with the coconut rice, no thank you. I've only had wine there once I had their house white and I hate to put any winery or place down but it tasted very watery to me. I got a second glass to stick with the same thing and that tasted the same. I can get buzzed on wine pretty easily and I wasn't driving but I felt nothing so I've never ordered wine again because as you know the bills add up very quickly. That being said I love the atmosphere and I love the deck outside and if you're inside the fireplace is really nice. It's an old historic mill and it's beautifully rustic and next to a stream so give it a try! The pizzas are pretty good but so far the only thing I would really return again and again for is the butternut squash and the brussels sprouts. I have gone back several times for those! Very friendly, very accommodating people that work and manage the place. Overall ambience, it's one of my favorite places. read more

We saw this restaurant on Yelp and decided to try it. We were very impressed with the setting, service, and food. Our lunch was the wagyu burger and Brussels sprouts. This is one of the few places that doesn't charge for split plates. We left full and very satisfied. It's about a 12 minute drive from Sonoma and well worth the trip. Found this place on our way into Sonoma as a stop for lunch. Lovely setting and great friendly service. Our host and waiter was most gracious and quickly helped with suggestions. The wine and the lunch was fabulous. So much so that we booked a reservation for Saturday night dinner. Upon return we were greeted by our same host and we were quickly shown to a nice table. Again we took his suggestions and everything was perfect. Some of the best lamb chips I've ever had. He suggested a dessert and bragged about his Equatorial coffee. Spicy chorizo flatbread, salads (a bit overdressed for our taste), the udon soup and fettuccini with grilled chicken special. All delicious! The cocktails were lovely too!
