Tasty lunch that felt both cozy and slightly upscale. I got a Fisherman's Stew which was warming and hearty, but not heavy. Also beautifully presented. And split a couple of cookies with friends. Really enjoyed the ginger cardamom one! If hungry, I would recommend getting a couple items (like pick 2 between their soups, salads, and sandwiches). The portions were on the smaller end.

During a heat wave: Hands down best ajo blanco soup and matcha lemonade of my life. FLAVORFUL! Got the (new to the menu) $14 cherry tomato salad.... amazing! Would get again and again. The Indian family next to us asked our advice and I exuberantly said to get the tomato salad as well, which has Indian spices in it, and they loved it and said how excellent it was too! Also great service should be mentioned.

Easily one of the prettiest and most historic coffee shops I've been to! I opted for their vanilla bean oat milk latte, which was absolutely wonderful. I went shortly after open, so selection of pastries was abundant as well as wait time being short and quick. The service was great, but the deck and dock as the sun rose over Crystal River, which the Mill sits on, was just a perfect peaceful pairing for my morning sip. Thank you, and I cannot wait to be back!

Absolutely best dinner experience! From the service to the incredible food and ambiance. Our table of 7 had the asparagus salad, cucumbers, scallops, duck meat balls, hash browns, sweet potato, a burger and a few orders of the teres major. For dessert we finished with the cheesecake, dark chocolate and the sourdough ice cream. Everything was nice and light with fresh ingredients. Each dish was made with thoughtful and cohesive flavors. I can't wait to come back. This will be a new staple in our annual trip to Glen Arbor.

We loved the setting. The crystal river is beautiful and the historic building has been restored perfectly! I am so thrilled this old building has been saved! Now the food... it was delicious but it was super expensive. We ordered two sandwiches for a whooping $41.00. The sandwiches were delicious but a bit over our lunch budget. I would have loved a flavored iced tea or a soda of some type but the options were limited to coffee, wine, or a couple of juices. We opted for water. The sandwiches were premade meaning we could not remove any items. The bread was fresh baked and delicious. Overall it was a good stop but expensive.

We stopped for lunch on a snowy Tuesday, and were greeted warmly in the cafe. The owners have preserved much of the old mill, including original beams, walls, and flooring. The person behind the counter explained the lunch setup, and answered all our newby questions patiently. The lunch menu offers some old favorites as well as novel selections. I had the Gruyère, collards, and mushroom sandwich, served hot. There is wine by the glass on offer, as well as beer. I had a rioja which was a good pairing for the sandwich. Speaking of which, the sandwich was super yummy and enormous. I'm a big eater and I couldn't finish it. When we come back in the summer we'll be back to The Mill for dinner.

Horrid staff. Below average food. Coffee and treats in morning over priced. Vegetables were fresh though

We had a nice lunch and enjoyed sitting on the patio. We recommend giving it a try. Also a nice coffee shop.

Fantastic sandwich and pizza option if you're headed to or from Sleeping Bear Dunes!…read more We came across Shipwreck Cafe after stopping for gas next door on the way to Sleeping Bear Dunes. We wanted a kid friendly option and came in for the pizza, but ended up being blown away by the massive sandwich menu! Don't be discouraged by the line - it moves FAST!!!! The young people at the register and in the kitchen are efficient and so nice!!! We arrived about half an hour before the sign says pizzas are ready, and the lovely man at the register said "sure!" when we asked if we could order a pizza. The menu has something for everyone - Including plenty of vegetarian options (I think they even had a vegan option). I loved my Griffon, and the meat eaters in our group enjoyed the SS Noronic (a BLT) and the Fitzgerald. Our kids devoured their cheese pizza! They also carry Great Lakes Co Chips, which are some of the best potato chips we've ever had. Our sandwiches were all so inventive with delicious, fresh ingredients, amazing condiments, and the most freshly baked "pretzel rolls" ever. If this place wasn't a vacation stop for us, we'd be back all the time! Our kiddos favorite part, bedsides the pizza, were the tiny plastic swords that came in our sandwiches holding them together. When they each wanted one more sword, we went back inside and the staff inside was so used to kids asking for more tiny swords that their response to "May we have two more swords?" Was "Sure! What colors?!" Very different from what the response would have been where we're from. :) We even came back later in the day for the frozen custard!!! All in all, it was a great experience with great food, great service, plenty of outdoor picnic tables under umbrellas, and something for everyone to eat.

The smashburgers were perfectly executed--juicy, flavorful, and layered with the kind of detail you can taste in every bite. The chicken wings had that ideal balance of crisp and tenderness, and the potato salad? Comforting, creamy, and done right. But the real standout for me was the cannoli pizza--creative, indulgent, and completely unforgettable. Beyond the food, what truly sets Pond Hill Farm apart is the experience. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and effortlessly charming--exactly what you want for a night out in Northern Michigan. As a fellow local business, I also deeply appreciate how supportive they are of the community. It means something--and it shows in everything they do. If you haven't been, go. We were there during dueling piano night. It was pretty crowded, but the folks behind the bar were doing a great job of getting everyone served. We waited about an hour for our pizza, but we were okay with that. We shopped the little market and took pictures of the beautiful flowers. If you're staying in Petoskey or Harbor Springs, it's worth the pretty drive.
