Training of staff has much improved. Prompt and quality service. iPad cashier is quick and easy. Not a fan of the tip prompter in check out. Great selection of teas and coffee beans-will grind for sell whole bean. Small holiday coffees or goodies make great gifts for house guests or family-wish they were vacuum sealed. I adore this coffee shop! I go here at least once a week either to hangout with friends, study, or simply sip my favorite peppermint granita (frozen coffee slushy) and enjoy the atmosphere. The staff are friendly and efficient. All different types of people frequent the shop. The atmosphere is very unique and cozy. There are many different places to sit, and well as an off to the side quieter room for those that want to read. Just had a mexican hot chocolate whilst reading some homework. Amazing stuff. One of my favorite atmospheres to read in, and of course they have excellent coffee. The atmosphere and style of both locations is one of laid-back rusticity; a bit hipster, but everything is high quality as far as I experienced, and the employees and their customer service is top-notch. I've been going to this chain for many years since high school, and it has been a consistent favorite for me. Doesn't disappoint. Try it out! read more

I tend to be a bit of a coffee snob. I dislike some of the chain coffee places that have a roast that taste burnt. I have been pleasantly surprised by the different roasts of the Mill coffee beans. I have been purchasing the beans as part of a Lincoln East fundraiser for the last year. Though I have tried numerous, Nebraska Blend and Prescott Blend are my favorites. read more

Today I was near the College View Mill and wanted a cup of coffee, so stopped in here. I never get their brewed coffee because I think it is weak and pretty tasteless. (When I do go I get an Americano, which I think are fantastic!) But I hadn't tried just their coffee in years so thought I'd give it another try. Unfortunately, it hasn't gotten any better. I am completely perplexed by all the good reviews. I know The Mill is an institution in Lincoln and I think people are sentimental about it. I also think lots of people get sweet espresso drinks and don't know what good brewed coffee tastes like. The Mill has been offering the same weak coffee for decades. Why can't you offer one bold blend?! Hey Mill management: go taste the coffee at Cultiva. (No, I don't work there, but I do think this is what coffee should taste like.) read more

I love this place. The coffee is always brewed well, the options are fantastic, and did I mention they have The Cookie Company treats sold at the pastry counter? Staff is pleasant and knowledgeable. The only thing holding me back from the five star review is the styrofoam take-away cups (though you do get a discount if you stay and use a mug!) and the steep-ish prices. I know, I know....you get what you pay for, coffee connoisseur, et cetera et cetera. It just means limiting my Mill trips to one, maybe two a week. And that's the bummer! read more

This is one of my favorite coffee shops in town. Small town feel, good places to post up, kind and knowledgeable staff.

I've been going to the downtown mill for about a year now. I really dig the atmosphere. The wooden floors are a bit on the noisy side, so be prepared for people staring at you while you balance your coffee/tea as you make your way to a chair. Besides that, the coffee is the best in Lincoln I believe. read more

I would admit to being a coffee addict... i love coffee, espresso, mocha, lattes... all of it, and i really dig a chill place to hang out. All of these things should make the Mill a slam dunk in my book, but it isnt. A majority of my friends love going there and i have no idea why. Its cozy and friendly but i have yet to taste something delcious there. the pastries are usually old and there are usually grounds in my coffee/espresso drinks. There are tons of great of great places to get coffee in Lincoln so i usually try and avoid the mill read more

This place is always solid. The staff is always friendly and the coffee is as good as anywhere in town. If I am going to go out to get a cup of coffee in Lincoln, the mill by Union College would be one of my top spots. read more
