we were very very pleased with our stay at millwood. we have always stayed one of about three other properties in the area and decided to try something different. the sleep experience was quite good. bed, pillow, blanket. the breakfast experience was better than many. we where there 3 nights and the breakfast was changed up a bit each morning. the coffee machine allows you to select americano, latte, mocha, different coffee drinks which make morning coffee more fun. elizabeth in the front office was awesome - friendly, helpful and caring. read more

We stayed at Millwood while in San Francisco for a wedding. From the beginning, the staff was top notch (crib already in room, easy check in, etc). The bed and room were extremely comfortable and the continental breakfast was excellent, and FREE! We will certainly be staying here again when we are in the area. read more

I stayed for couple of days in your hotel but none of the cleanings satisfied me. You didnt change the bed sheets nor blankets and I sawa the stains everyday. I found this cute boutique hotel by accident. What a hidden gem! The room had everything you could need. Free Wi-Fi, DVD player, Elemis products in the bath, free breakfast as well. Not just a box or doughnuts, eggs, bacon, waffles, juice, coffee as well as cereal. They even had Coco Puffs!! Really comfy bed. I didn't want to wake up. They offer a free airport shuttle. I don't travel much but I will stay here next time I am in San Francisco! read more

I did a "park and stay" package at Millwood Inn. Turned out great! I'll stay here again. Booked by calling and speaking with a very helpful gentleman. Showed up to drop my car and catch their shuttle to SFO. They had a clean restroom where I could change my clothes. Waiting for the shuttle, the desk clerk informed me that 'happy hour' wine was about to close, so grab a glass of wine - it would help me sleep on my red-eye flight. Nice! I returned 10 days later for my overnight stay. Car still there in view of 24hr front desk. Desk clerk knew it was me (last shuttle of the night) and upgraded me to suite (I just needed a bed). Bed was very nice. Breakfast was good. Front desk service was great. Check in (car), check in (room), check out. Very nice people! A motel with outside rooms, Millwood has installed clear glass panels along the front, with key entry. You can see out to the parking lot, but only guests can get close to your door. Inside the room, refurbished, and like I said, great bed with lots of pillows. I am planning to stay here again 3 weeks after first visit. Shuttle to SFO was prompt and professional. I've had minor issues with other hotel shuttle drivers. The company Millwood contracts with is great. Outbound was on time and professional. On the return, as it was the last shuttle of the night (12:30am), the driver offered to swing by 7-11 or In-n-Out Burger for anything we needed. While we didn't take him up on the offer, it was nice. If you are looking to stay within a few miles of San Francisco airport at a great value for your money then this is the perfect place for you. Rooms are cute and very clean. Equipped with latest TVs and free wifi. So if you need to catch up on a game or need to be connected online while vacationing you are good to go. Free parking which a big deal especially if ur going to the city. You get to park right in front of ur room. Breakfast is excellent. Hard boiled eggs milk fresh waffle mocha coffee maker cereal oatmeal etc. For a fitness aficionado like me, I was able to get a great workout in. The gym is small but is a perfect setup w a treadmill bike free weights workout machine and a tv! The owner mr. Patel is a super nice guy and he helped me plan my trip w all the places I wanted to visit like a professional guide. Checked with me everyday if I was happy w the stay or needed anything. Gave me maps and wrote down all the tips and directions for me. Great way to visit the city and see all the attractions as it's only a few miles away. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I needed a couple of bags and coins for street parking in the city plus I left my electric brush behind which they were kind enough to mail back to me. I am giving this a definite 5 star rating. My husband has to travel to the bay area for business two nights out of every week, and has stayed at several other hotels in the area and found them more than unsatisfactory. I found Millwood Inn and Suites on Yelp and wow...what a find!!! The rooms are spotless, the bed super comfortable, and the internet and TV work perfectly (which has not been the case at other local hotels). We were unsure about this hotel before we got there because of the pics online. The front desk was very quick, kind and accommodating. The shuttle was quick and on time. The rooms have an Asian theme to them which was new and exciting. Everything was very environmentally friendly and smelled great such as shampoo and toiletries. Good value and much like your typical Best Western/Residence Inn near an airport. Perfect little continental breakfast. The property itself is well maintained, the rooms are extremely clean, and their is plenty of on-site free parking. The windowed security corridor adds to comfort and feeling of safety although Millbrae is a city you can walk around at midnight by yourself. The BART station/Cal Train is about a 15-20min walk from the hotel for access to SF or SJ and it's about the same walking distance to downtown Millbrae for good eats. Great hotel for business travelers and vacationers alike. There are a lot of options here and this is one of the good ones! If you don't like a stiff/tall pillow (at least in the room we stayed in), then think about bringing your own...but that's personal preference. read more

Very nice hotel. I was visiting SF for a cousin's graduation in Berkeley and this hotel was very close and affordable (+military discount!). Parking was good. I'm very picky about my hotel rooms and they have to be in a nice area with places around where I can eat some good food and I had no issues with that. The hotel room in itself was small but cozy for my husband and me. The bed was so comfortable. It has a refrigerator, microwave, long counter to place all of your things, a big chair to lounge in and the bathroom is a nice size. Very clean room I was very satisfied. The front desk receptionist/concierge was very professional and polite. Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone! read more

It was nice at a reasonable price, breakfast was good, everything was very clean with a lot of amenities, small fridge, microwave, dvd player, coffee maker even a pant press. My only complaint is that we were in the first floor next to the gym and ice machine, the walls/floor are very thin, they guests upstairs were incredibly loud, they made so much noise walking in their room that waked us up every time. When people went to get ice from the machine, we could hear the noise like the ice machine was inside the room. If you are going to stay, please ask for a room on the sides, without a second floor. read more

I just finished my stay at here during my Labor Day Trip. I booked the Deluxe Suite which fit for my whole family ( 6 adults and 1 kid) . The hotel is super nice and clean, they big plus for me is they have the handheld shower-head which make it easy for me to shower my kid. Free parking, free breakfast and wifi, free newspaper every morning at front desk and cheap soda, a can of coke is only $1.00, many walking distance restaurants surrounding the hotel and some open late until 1 am, The only minor suggestion is , please ready more bath towel sets ( they only gave us 2 sets ) for people who stay in the big suite. And some hooks to hand the cloths inside the bathroom. Other then that, no complains at all! read more

Having to rush for a short business trip and having problems with my credit card this hotel was able to accommodate my needs. Upon arriving the front staff gave great service and made me feel at home. I requested a shuttle pick up early the next morning and the front desk called to remind me that the pick up was on its way. The only good thing about the hotel was that simple breakfasts were provided daily,but then the hotel was nothing but a a wreck. The toilet and the hairdryer were down within 4 days,and yet, we had to take care of that by ourselves.Worse still,the staffs were impolite. So,for whoever who are interested in this hotel, my advice is try your best to avoid it. You have much better choices around you,like aloft and Best Western plus El Rancho Inn. However, if you really have no choices but to stay here,please bring all the cleansing stuffs you need for the stay cos they don't provide any of them. read more

All of the reviews except for one are absolutely spot on. Booking a room from the Millwood Inn website is the way to go because it is a lot cheaper than the other travel websites. Free parking, free breakfast, free internet, and a bed bug free room. What else could you need to have a great stay in SF. Don't worry the free breakfast is more than just bagels and toast. Our flight was delayed. Got in at 12pm, which was 3am our time, and found this absolute gem about 10 minutes from the airport. It's an old motor lodge converted to a Ritz Carlton-like make over. The outside adorned with drapes? Hanging baskets of flowers in front of each door. The grounds spotless. Owned by a Chinese-American family who seemed to pour every ounce of blood, sweat, tears into this place. You walk in the front door with your car parked outside, and you'd swear looking forward you just walked into the Ritz. Thank you Yelp for helping me find this at just the right time. read more

Just out of luck, my mom helped me select this place as the hotel for our out-of-town wedding guests. The service provided was STELLAR! They provided a nice welcome basket of snacks, water, and fruit for my husband and me. On the night of our wedding reception, they opened the "breakfast nook" for us to socialize during the after-hours. The rooms are clean and they have the most comfortable beds. The location is conveniently close to BART/Caltrain, which our guests used to get to our Sunday brunch in SF. Free Wi-Fi, free parking, free breakfast, free shuttle to & from SFO. Great value! We were very happy with our choice to stay here. The room was small, which is to be expected for the price. The room was a tiny version of a 5 star hotel room with comfortable beds, nice linens and pillows, awesome flat screen tv, fridge, nice bathroom and soaps, and it was very clean. Breakfast was what most would expect for free. They had good a good selection of coffee and the fixings. The staff went above and beyond to help us find our way to SF on public transportation and mapping out the sights for us. We would definitely stay again. Stayed here for two nights for a work training near by, and overall enjoyed my stay. The breakfast was great, and I also appreciated the wine hour from 5:30-6:30pm! The room was clean and updated which I appreciated. My only complaint would be that it was pretty loud. You can definitely hear the rooms near/above you moving around. I rarely write reviews these days and most of my reviews are of great establishments, but I am a bit heavy-hearted. I am extremely disappointed in customer service. Let me start off by saying this is not a cancellation; it is simply an adjustment to the reservation. Booking this hotel for family and the family is coming in the next weekend instead. Plans change. Life happens. I understand it is in my delay to call between 6:30pm - 7:00pm to change the schedule when they said cancellation is at 6pm. I just found out the change of plans. I pleaded that I would even pay a penalty fee just to move the reservation to next weekend and she quickly replied no. Does 30 minutes make such a significant difference to your hotel that is booked online that you cannot adjust such a small request? She claims that they must keep the fee and will not move it to the next weekend because she does not want to move it even though it isn't a cancellation. She wants to keep all the reservations because she does not want to lose money. She claims to always sell out every weekend. I asked her that if I go on your site and book the largest room again, will it be sold out. She paused and said I just can't move it for you. I know for a fact that they are not always sold out because I just checked. Booking the two bedroom suite that includes a large living area was not sold out just one night before the weekend and it is not sold out for the next weekend. Once again I asked if I can pay a penalty fee just so I can move the reservation and she replied no. How do you keep your customers happy and have satisfied returning customers if you do not try to accommodate them? Not even when I am willing to give you a penalty fee.... Wow... read more

Stayed here with friends after visiting Napa. It's a small complex but very cozy and safe. It's in a great area, close to everything (restaurants, Bart station). I'm very particular with the bed & pillows where ever I stay. We love the comfy soft bed & pillows which made our stay relaxing and had a well rested sleep. Our group loves the breakfast specially the variety of food available and the unforgettable waffle. Most of all we would like to commend the staff specially Precy from the font desk who provided us an excellent service. Highly recommended place to stay!!! read more

On Thursday night June 9th, I was so excited that I had planned to stay the night here and leave the car for 4 night trip. Upon arrival, I was told that I had not booked the correct room to leave the car... On their website it was so clear that I could sleep and park and get a ride to SFO. In my email receipt, it even gave me times of the airport shuttle. We checked in around 10pm and were so upset to learn that leaving the car was not an option because it was already full. they hold a whole TEN cars at a time. I wanted to cancel, but I had prepaid... forced to stay in a room that cost $230 and then looked up how much long term parking would be at SFO ($25/day) UGH! I didn't want to ruin my trip with this awful experience, and even tho the woman at the front desk couldn't help, she could have tried to offer a solution or get me in contact with the owner or manager. Communication is key in everything. When the website sets the bar high, just to realize you've been taken advantage of leaves a bitter taste. The hotel itself was cute but I was completely upset with experience. The whole point of booking at this hotel was to park, stay and fly out. RIDICULOUS!!! read more

The room was well-appointed, the bed comfortable, the airport shuttle timely and swift, and our car was exactly where we left it two weeks later, safe and sound. This place is very unreliable in terms of being able to actually park a car while flying out of SFO. I went through the booking process on the parking package section of their website and booked a room. When I arrived, I was told I only had a room, no parking and even though they had open spaces, would not honor the reservation for parking. It was 9:30 at night and we had to be at the airport at 5 am to fly out early the next morning. So we were left scrambling to find a hotel that would allow us to actually park. The website was screwy apparently because instead of informing me there was no parking when I went to the parking package booking button, redirected me to another type of reservation, without informing me of that redirection. The clerk at the desk kept telling me well, we have been sold out on parking since October, which I had no way of knowing from their website and other information that only someone who works at the hotel and knows their system would know. No effort to resolve the situation and take it or leave it attitude. We left it and stayed at the nearby Courtyard Marriott in San Bruno where the rooms are nicer, there is food service at night and the shuttle goes directly to the airport, instead of stopping at a few other hotels before actually arriving at SFO. I would only stay here if there were no other options, which fortunately does not happen very often in this area. read more

My family has been staying at the Millwood since 1975. We love the hotel and the staff. Vijay, the owner, is a wonderful man and has become like a member of our family. We love to visit the city of San Francisco, but the room rates inThe City can be costly, not to mention the additional fee for parking. It's great to travel just a few miles to the peace and quiet of the Millwood Inn and the much more affordable rates. It is our home away from home. Sort of picked this out of a hat because: price was good, I like independent establishments and I really like vintage motels. What a real treat this little place was. My sister and I did a stay-park-fly with them last week and were gobsmacked with how wonderful a place it is. They must have used a top flight designer to totally remodel and redo the decor and amenities. We had breakfast at the airport before leaving but they set out a very comprehensive buffet breakfast every morning beginning at 6:30. I went over at 6:30, heated 2 Danish in the microwave, slathered them with butter and brought them to our room to accompany the fresh, single serve room coffee. Linens were impeccable, bathroom small but everything in place, and not a single odor, whiff, or trace of cigarette smoke anywhere - or cloying room freshener. We slept with our window full open rather than use the A/C and it was quiet throughout the night. Nights in Millbrae being close to the bay and ocean, are cool and perfect for sleeping. Can't say enough about this Inn. It is a gem. read more
