We talked through my previous experiences, discussed future ideas I had, and she gave me a fabulous cut and style quickly and very reasonably priced. My receipt reflects a premium service labeled "Platinum AF." I paid $650 for what I believed would be master-level platinum blonding. Instead, approximately 70% of my foils were placed by an assistant who graduated cosmetology school in June 2024 and had only been working at the salon for three months. The lead stylist repeatedly stepped away to service other clients. She was not consistently present during application and did not meaningfully evaluate the foils until removal was nearly complete. The assistant also performed all foil removal. Platinum blonding is one of the most technically demanding chemical services in the industry. It requires precision placement, careful saturation, and close monitoring. That did not happen. The final result was objectively poor: * Large orange and yellow hot spots throughout * Uneven processing * The nape of my neck partially unhighlighted on one side * Patchy tonal inconsistency * Noticeable dryness and signs of chemical damage This was not a subtle "slightly off tone." This was visibly uneven, brassy, and inconsistent work -- especially unacceptable at this price point. When I expressed concern immediately in the chair, I was told it was "the lighting" and reassured it was platinum. I was not shown the back of my head before leaving. When I got home, my 14-year-old daughter walked in and said, "Your hair is yellow." I had not said a word to her. The issue was obvious. I returned the next day requesting a partial refund because I did not feel comfortable allowing additional bleach on already compromised hair. I was told refunds are against policy. Charging premium, specialist-level pricing while delegating the majority of a complex platinum service to a newly graduated assistant -- without clear and direct informed consent in the chair -- feels like a deceptive practice. Clients deserve transparency about who is performing a chemical service on their hair. If I am paying for a master blonding specialist, I expect that specialist to perform the work. At $650, there should be a clear transformation and a "wow" moment. Instead, I left with uneven, brassy, partially unprocessed hair and no accountability. Future clients should ask very clearly who will actually be performing their service before agreeing to premium pricing.

The attached straight-hair photos were taken at that time, before I left the salon. That's when "one" area was acknowledged and a few lowlights were added. However, the broader concerns regarding the harsh lines, visible demarcation, and lack of blending throughout the rest of my hair were largely dismissed. I was ultimately told the result was "not that bad" and that I might simply need time to adjust to having highlights. That response is ultimately why I did not return for corrective work. Had my concerns been acknowledged, I would have been open to working toward a solution. Instead, I left questioning how the issues could be corrected when they were not being recognized in the first place. The attached wavy-hair photos were taken two weeks later. By that point, the harsh lines, visible demarcation, and lack of blending were even more noticeable, leaving me embarrassed and self-conscious about my hair. I sought a second opinion from another salon, where the stylist immediately saw the same issues I had raised during my appointment. They explained that significant corrective color work would be required, expressed sympathy for the experience, and were unable to understand how I had left the salon with a result like this. The correction required additional highlights, lowlights, toning, and blending to soften the harsh lines and create a more natural result. Initial service - $300 Corrective service - $462.50 Total spent for an outcome that was not my initial goal - $762.50 Attempts to contact the salon owner through both Instagram and the salon's website gmail received no response.

I initially went to her for a red balayage and she took my inspiration picture and put her own personal touch to truly give me a custom hair color. Ever since then I've gone to her for regular up keep and trims, and she always slays it. Even in between visits, my hair will fade like normal, but still looks fantastic and natural. That's how good she is! Heather also has tons of hair knowledge and experience, but also makes sure to dedicate time to educate herself further to pass down. When I first started seeing her, I would fry my hair with straighteners and not really know how to manage it. Now my hair is at it's healthiest, and regular haircuts from Heather help to keep my curls in place even though I have blonde in place.
