I got my hair colored by Ashley last week... I have naturally brown hair and went all black. After one week my brown hair color is already coming thru. I was told taking hot showers would do this although I've had my hair colored before and never had to adjust my shower water. This was after being charged extra for "extra dye". Altogether I spent $300 for something that's already gone a week later. Will never go back. **An adjustment was offered after this review was made and only then. Which i'm sure would be sooo comfortable for me to go back at this point. read more

They canceled my appointment a hours before my scheduled time. I shouldn't be writing a review when I'm this upset, but here we are. I don't get to just take days off work whenever I want. I had scheduled this a week in advance, took the time off work, and just got a call saying they have to cancel it (they said they called early this morning and left a voicemail, but I dont have a call history from them. What I do have is a text at 11am today confirming my appointment, though, so..) I don't ever get my hair done. I'd needed this forever and I had the ONE day to do it. It's increditbly unprofessional to cancel someone's appointment just a few hours before, and not provide a quicker solution other than "sometime next week." I cannot stress enough how hard it is for me to get a day off, so I dont really care about the reason for the No Show - that's not my problem. My problem NOW is that I used a day of PTO for you guys to just up and cancel same day - fit me in with someone else same day. I dont care. My card was requested to be on file before the appointment incase I cancel same day. What of it on your end? You've made this a problem for me. Now I have to waste my time finding another salon. I'm aware I'm being dramatic here, it's just hair, but it was a big deal to me and combined with wasting my PTO this just sucks. read more

I had a funky left over green tinge in my hair that needed to be...eliminated (it was my bad, I had blue hair). I've never been here prior so que the hesitation. It was incredibly easy to book an appointment online so thats a win. I went in with 50/50 expectations. So Ashley listen to my wild ramblings of why i needed this green color gone and was incredibly polite when I couldn't tell her what I actually wanted instead "just...no green". Well off to the races with Ashley. She did a once over of my noodle and accurately stated that I have some reds (I was born strawberry blonde, spot on Alex!) She mixed up a color she thought suited me and dang was she spot on again. 10/10 I love the color I left with. It was a reddish brown and really and truly suited my skin tone. It was a nice multidimensional color. It looked great in the dark and in the sun. The price was 100% reasonable too. I was expecting to spend an arm and a leg but left with all my extremities. Two months later and it still looks great. I'm looking forward to going back! read more

I love this salon! It is decorated so cute and everyone was so welcoming and friendly. I was very hesitant on going because I haven't found anyone who works well with my hair color and texture but I am soooo glad that I found Alex! She is so talented and one of the most fun and friendliest people I've ever met. She truly took the time to see what my ideal hair looks like and also took the time to understand how my hair is so that she could get me to the color that I wanted. Her and Kelly are so much fun! You can tell they really love what they do. It was a tad bit pricey but it was expected for the first session from going black to light colored hair. Can't wait for my second session to see the final results! I would definitely recommend this Salon and Alex! The only downside to this salon is the parking situation but the results are totally worth it. read more

This place does not deserve even the one star. I made an appointment for color, cut and style. And I specifically told the stylist my goal was to cover the grays. I showed her a picture of what I wanted. In the end I neither got the color, nor the cut or style I was promised. After spending 2 hours there when I asked the stylist what about the grays? she tells me I need to make a separate appointment for that. Why wouldn't she tell me that in the first place. The stylists at Great clips and Ulta seem way better and that says a lot. The "stylists" at Vintage don't know how to use their own products to get the right results. She rushed through the whole process. I even had a picture for reference and I was told I would get the exact results but ended up leaving with my hair worse than before. The manager is useless and not at all helpful. I had already paid $286 with tip for crap service, on top of that she tried to put the blame on me saying I probably had henna on my hair that's why the lighter didn't work (I didn't even know that henna can be put on the hair I thought that only goes on the hand) and she wanted me to pay $100 more to fix their mistake that I had paid for in the first place. Don't go by their website description it's a trap. Please call and record your conversation with them to be absolutely sure you get the results you want. That was my first and last appointment. NEVER AGAIN!!!!! read more

Such a cute salon in downtown RoundRock! I found shaded parking on the side of the building and had a short walk to the salon. Inside there's a mini fridge for guests to help themselves to refreshments as they wait. There's also an "Instagram" wall to take pics after ur glammed up! Initially there was a mix up with my appointment time so I did wait quite awhile, BUT Alexia saved the day! She fit me in right away and redeemed my low expectations with stellar service! She was so sweet, friendly, and super excited to give me a beautiful retro shag cut. She really gave me the best haircut of my life! She also featured me on her Insta and I felt so special LOL! I've been getting my haircuts (and color - shhhhh) from Ashley for years, but this new place is just awesome! Right off 35 and 620, the building is vintage but modern, and way more spacious inside than the old place. And I didn't think I'd care about the adjustable shampoo bowls she was raving about before the move, but they are noticeably more comfortable. Not to mention you can actually park nearby now since there is a private lot here. All in all, this is a great upgrade from the old place! read more

It was like I was invisible. No one acknowledged me, Alex should have popped her head around the corner and said "give me 10 minutes; something. Anything. Nope, just invisible. First I would like to say this review is for this salon and Jennifer with J Style Hair and Nails who used to apparently work in their salon. I bought a gift card for my mother at Vintage Beauty Salon for HAIR and NAILS. Not mens hair and nails. Apparently since buying it these two ladies separated, and im assuming not well as they are both passing me off to one another! My mom is moving and cant use this anymore, Vintage Beauty said it would be for nails only I have to call Jennifer even though hair is written on here. It does say J Style on the coupon so okay understood. Jennifer only does men's hair... She said I could use the coupon but and said she would be willing to cut my hair, but this does not sound appealing to me since your experience is with men's hair you say. So no thank you. Plus I dont want to cut my hair - it would be for color. I cant use the nails because with my job there is no point in doing my nails. Frustration is this gift certificate was purchased for a women hair and nails and they knew that. Ok not big deal, but I asked for my money back and they both have told me not doable. How is this not stealing. An elderly woman has to move so she cant use it, and I would love to but I am not a man, and I dont need my nails done. It is still money I gave you for services to be rendered. If you cant do that because of some feud you ladies had, then give me my money back. This is just exhausting, and poor customer service, and complete immaturity between you two owners! I would love to right Jennifer a review as well, but I am not finding her on Yelp. read more

Jenny is the bombdotcom. I contacted her about price matching then booked a spa pedicure and then later decided to add on a manicure service but there were no times available online. I texted her and went for lunch and then she called me as she had a noshow and was able to take care of me without cutting into her next appointments. I did the quick gel manicure with the unicorn added on top of the blue after she was able to pickup what I couldn't quite explain. It's so cute in person and my date thought my nails looked amazing and complimented them several times. She has a great personality, is bubbly and happy to have you in her chair. And the hot stone massage was an extra wonderful treat for my legs after standing all day. I just moved to RR and was in desperate need of a cut a color. I was easily able to book an appointment with Alex. She was bright and friendly. Confidently walked me through the initial consultation to understand what I was looking for. She offered no pressure suggestions. The environment was warm And inviting. It was my mistake booking an appointment on Friday afternoon for Saturday... I arrived on time but I had to wait because the stylist was talking to her previous client; who she admitted she knew for many years... I could forgive that if the cut was worth the wait, but unfortunately, it was not. She did not style my bangs correctly and she did not cut enough off of the rest of my hair. Disappointed, I left the place with crooked bangs and split ends. You would think that the owner of a salon called Vintage Beauty would know what Betty Bangs are. This was truly Super Cuts quality. I cannot believe how much I paid for this. Cutting hair is an art form. It requires a creative eye and skillful hands. Not everyone can do it. Update: After seeing my review, the owner contacted me to express her concern. She was sincerely sorry that I was dissatisfied. She said that she would have fixed it if I had talked to her about it. I cannot say enough nice things about Kelly. She cares so much about her clients, and what she does. Every cut and color I've gotten done by her has been awesome. I usually get fun colors in my hair (pink, purple, blue, green), but am going to be growing it out for my wedding next year so I decided to go back to black. Well, one color later it looks like I never had all of those colors in my hair. My hair is super healthy and shiny after this, so you know Kelly is using the best quality products. I made an appt here, said I wanted my roots back to Blonde (Platinum)she said highlights? I assumed that's what they call it in Texas. I was just visiting and desperate ! I said several times make sure my blonde is not yellow, white blond she said ok I even asked for the Money Piece, she knew what that was.. Did not get that!!... I left the salon hours later with only my old blond on the bottom and red orange on the top!! and paid $206.... Horrible experience! My hair looked nothing like I asked! A simple root touch up turned into a complete disaster. the manager offered to put in blonde I couldn't imaging how she could get blonde into my now red orange hair... Christine is the best! Honestly! I used to work with her at another salon, and then we both went our separate ways work wise, but reconnected about a year and a half later and now she's the only person I let touch my hair! She gets what I want out of a color and cut, and she isn't afraid to be honest when it comes to what she thinks would work and wouldn't work on me. All the other stylists are incredible and so friendly, the clientele that comes to this salon are awesome and you can always have a nice conversation. Unfortunately, I had to stop getting my hair done for awhile, but I can't wait to finally book my next appointment with Christine. read more

Well I wanted to refrain from writing this, but after asking for at least a partial refund twice and being denied, I figured I'd at least warn others. The stylist offered to re-do it, but when it looks this bad and you work 7 days a week, it's not really an option. I walked in with brassy looking highlights that I wanted touched up, and really bad roots. I now have equally brassy hair with random lilac streaks and terrible roots. I waited months to have it done, was willing to spend whatever was needed to make my hair look good and it WAS NOT WORTH IT. Not only was it a waste of money, but now I'm having to spend that same amount at a different salon to have it FIXED. I spoke to both the owner and the stylist and both of them gave me the run around about getting a refund. Before this all happened I even recommended this place to friends but retracted my statement with photos of how bad it looks. I don't plan on ever returning. read more

With an exquisite old building which retains much of its original architecture, and sweet touches of vintage decor placed about, she properly named her space. While her studio is named "Vintage" Beauty Salon, she is quite up-to-date with her color, technique, skill, and education. Can I give this place half a star? Anyway, On the hunt for my lifelong hairdresser, but until then, DO NOT go to Vintage Beauty Salon off Mays. Here's my story. 1st, ERICA, was 45 min behind. Then after those 45 she sat me in her chair, only to blow out another girls hair next to me. At this point, I should have just got up. Ok so here's the beef: I went and had a color and cut on Friday. I left in tears!!!!! My hair was about 3 inches below my shoulder and left with a BOB! I told her I loved the length and wanted to only cut split ends. (Which I hardly had much) My highlights also looked blotchy and as if they were grown out for about 2-3 months. AWFUL brassy color. Not the caramel color I requested. Since I wear a uniform everyday, I cannot walk around looking like a cheetah so I had to use a box of hair color today. And it hardly helped. So I'm screwed. Since my back was to the mirror the entire time, when she turned me around I almost lost it in front of her. I was like OMGGGG where is my hair!! She nonchalantly said, awe I'm sorry. It will grow back. I pulled my cape pissed and threw my wet hair in a halfway thing. I was so pissed. Like a dummy I paid. With 35% (deal I saw on The People of RR & Yelp), it was slightly over $100. (I'm also a very generous tipper.- sorry. No tip. At. All) I called my husband on the way home in tears and of course it angered him. When I got home and saw my head, he was livid to say the least. He got in the car and drove to the salon. The hairdresser must have heard his loud talking and hid in the bathroom until manager made her come out. I've had bad cuts. But never anything to put me in tears. Bec it's just hair. But this, this is...Bad! I look like a cheap tramp. DO NOT GO TO VINTAGE BEAUTY SALON off Mays.
