Absolutely loved this place! The baseball theme is super cute and there is a large yard where you can dine with your dog. My husband and I each ordered a flight of their brewed beers and enjoyed all 6 samplings! The Country Strong was a particular favorite. We shared the Curse of the Goat specialty pizza and it was out of this world! The sausage had amazing flavor, the crust was chewy in the best way possible, and the goat cheese and peppadew peppers made the whole thing an amazing combination. I remember eating at the one in Grand Rapids. We enjoyed the food items we had in the past. Last night we ordered a build your own pizza with peppers, olives and ham. Stayed at the little Airbnb next door to this spot over last Thanksgiving and definitely had to try this spot. Small interior, but staff was nice and quickly got me set up with a sampler. Ordered some pizza and got set up at a table to start checking out their beers while I waited for the food. Their oktoberfest was pretty solid, and their stout and peanut/crackerjack porter were both great. We are Saugatuck locals, and due to previous experiences, have not been to Mitten for a while but we decided to give it another try. While our service was great out in the beer garden, our pizza again was not prepared as we requested. I have mixed feelings about this place. My husband and I stopped by on a Wednesday evening to grab a beer and an appetizer before our reservation at another restaurant. We had 40 minutes to kill and assumed it would be enough time. We told our server that we had reservations at another place at 6pm. Our beers came out quickly (and were very good), but we waited forever for our cheese bread. Our server largely disappeared so we asked another server to get her for us. Since we had not received our food and we HAD to go, we asked if it could be taken off the bill and we were told "no" despite us never having received it. So we waited to have it boxed up (might as well since we paid for it!) and ran to our car to drop off the bread and then sprinted to our actual dinner. At this point, I was not happy. This review was going to be one MAYBE two stars. We ended up eating the bread in our hotel room later that night out of spite and it was fantastic. So thanks to the bread, this review gets 3 stars instead of 1. I will be giving this place another chance primarily due to the cheesy bread, but the customer service and order delays make me hesitant. I'll update this review next time I go here. read more

We could have used more marinara sauce, but the bread itself was crisp on the bottom with plenty of cheese. For pizza we got the Curse of the Goat and were impressed with how much flavor it had. The beer, as per my recollection, serves one as always - forever pleasing, suberb in every way. Honestly, we tried all the the IPAs on tap (that is the kind of kids we are!) plus a pale, it would be difficult to say, "YES! This is my favorite!" They are all SO good, and tantalize one's palate exquisitely. What one chooses to dine on, could be the deciding factor in this matter - what might potentate the flavor best?! I settled on the NE IPA. Mmm. My Ran the Pale Ale. The pizza which accompanied the fine brews was chosen with difficulties - too many fine choices! We settled on the "Curse of the Goat" Pizza. We were not sad about our choice. The medley of well blended flavors made one's palate sing. Paired with with our brews - matches made perfectly! Go. Go to the Mitten within the Mitten. So the wait was 20minutes you put your name down and the girls call you when table is ready. No biggie ! So why the 3 stars well ... we sat , we sat and we sat then I had to ask for the waitress. Ok 1 menu per table. Humm. Then finally the order taken... sat some more and sat some more. Ummm can we get our drinks But we Sat some more .. finally ready to order ...great. Pizza and a calazone and 2 soft drinks... no follow up and Now cups are empty.... sat some more ... choking here cuz .....I would really would love a refill or some water,... Yes water would be great.. I look to the left and right and left and my neighbors obviously suffering the same dilemma,...though he gets up to find the waitress. Yep we are still waiting. .... 1 hr plus later. A voice states oh we are short in the kitchen... ME: and you didn't mention this earlier why???? So I am thinking ...We are all in a state of flux and all have an extra amount of patience because it's Covid ... but damn COMMUNICATE with your customer and everyone will understand just do go hide... yet we are still waiting. This is a phenomenal place to stop if your in the area. Great local brewery. The food menu looked outstanding too. I just had the great tasting beers tho. Walking up it looks like a house. With a wrap around porch and tables to allow guests to sit. It was pretty busy on this Saturday night and def family friendly which I always appreciate. Small bar once Inside and this includes the kitchen and wait staff area so it gets cramped inside easily. I chose the light beer and it was cold, smooth refreshing, not hoppy and golden crisp to it. It was so good I had a couple. Since I was in a beer tour I kept it to two. Great buzz off of it tho. Out back was a fenced in yard with a horseshoe pit, fire pit and picnic tables. It was a great atmosphere. Very laid back and cool vibe of people. Staff was super friendly and helpful when it came time to choose a beer. They have a merch stand too. But I didn't buy anything. What an awesome location for a second spot/taproom. We've been to the GR location and really enjoyed ourselves, however did not try the pizza. This time, we went with the pizza flight. I enjoyed every single one. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! I stared in aw as the jumbo pretzel came out. I don't think I've ever seen a pretzel that large, and it looked delicious. I also really enjoy the concept of the roasted peanuts being served in the baseball bat shaped dish. The staff was great, and the atmosphere was outstanding.
