I found this spot because it was highly rated for safety on the Find Me Gluten Free app, and they definitely live up to that reputation. Their menu has a massive selection of GF and GFO items clearly marked, which is always a relief. We visited on a Sunday and joined the online waitlist ahead of time. The wait was about an hour, but as soon as we checked in, we were seated within a few minutes. The inside of the restaurant is really cool with a great retro, 50s-style vibe. The service started a bit slow, as the server took a while to greet us, though she was very polite and apologized for the delay. I started with a fresh-squeezed orange juice, which was absolutely to die for, even if it was a bit pricey at around $7. When ordering the Eggs Benedict, I made sure to tell the server I have Celiac disease. She was very knowledgeable and informed me that they could sub the regular English muffin for a gluten-free one, or use white or whole wheat gluten-free bread. When I asked about the sides, she reassured me that both the hash browns and home-style potatoes are prepared on a dedicated allergy cooktop, so I safely opted for the hash browns. The food did take quite a long time to come out. When it arrived, there were a few inaccuracies--my Benedict came with corned beef instead of ham, and it was served on the gluten-free white toast rather than the GF English muffin I had requested. However, it did come out with a reassuring allergy stick in the food, and because we were so hungry, I didn't question the mix-up. The food itself was excellent. Wrapping up the meal was incredibly convenient since you can pay with Apple Pay right from a QR code on the receipt, and our server even kindly asked if we wanted any drinks to go before we left. Overall, the Celiac protocols and dedicated allergy cooking spaces make this an incredibly safe place to eat. It was over five years since my husband and I first visited Anna's House - Holland. I was excited when I got the chance to go back. The food was just as good as I remembered it. I had 2 chocolate chip pancakes and a fruit cup. The pancakes were light and fluffy and the fruit cup was nice and fresh. My husband had the pecan and banana French toast. These were rich and flavorful. The only complaint I have is that we were seated right next to a very loud couple. I recommend Anna's House - Holland. read more

We stopped here before heading home from our trip. We were sat quickly and the servers were extremely nice. I love that each table had electrical outlets if you needed to charge something. Helpful for us that had a 4 hour drive back home! The restaurant was clean and such a cute breakfast spot. I love that they offered a variety of things. My juice prob was my favorite part of my meal! Everything seemed very fresh. I noticed it looked like they had a party room area for those with larger parties. Upon entry, we were impressed with the ambience of this location. The entryway's double doors, lobby, and waiting area were very spacious, welcoming, and inviting. Our group of six was seated promptly. We were seated at a table with three chairs and a booth-style padded bench. The bench had many crumbs like it hadn't been cleaned for a while. The table was sticky but an employee was cleaning a nearby table so we asked her to clean ours and she did. The server brought the various coffee, tea, and lattes that we ordered. One of the cups was very dirty and had lipstick on the rim. Yuck! When our server returned we pointed it out to her and she brought a clean cup. We ordered a variety of entrées and some appetizers to share. One of the appetizers, Billion Dollar Bacon, was a real favorite with some in our group. The entrées we ordered included veggie omelets, sweet potato and Brussels sprouts hash, southwest eggs Benedict, and Big Breakfast. It took a long time to get our food. But when it was served everything was hot and fresh. We all enjoyed our food. Servings were generous so some of us took home part of our meal in boxes. The staff had two small tables next to the hostess station, where they were rolling silverware in between seating customers. It is already a tight space and with the tables, booster seats and additional seats it was not very welcoming. One of the hostess continuously rubbed her thumb up and down each piece of cutlery before she rolled them into a napkin. As someone who needs gluten free food in Holland, MI, I knew my choices were limited. So I was glad to read Anna's online menu that they had options for people like me. The restaurant was big and not crowded for Monday brunch. I did not have to wait long for Chad to serve me. He understood my needs and said that they had a separate kitchen and could guarantee a gf meal. I chose chicken quesadilla which was okay as far as gf food goes. My wife and I are big fans of Anna's house in GR and normally we like the Holland one as well, however we did not have a great experience at our last time visiting. Now I know that Sunday brunch is there busiest time of the week, but we ended up waiting for 1.5 hours to get in. They have a fantastic menu, but unfortunately the portion sizes are much smaller than they used to be. I was also disappointed with their attention to detail. We had to send a plate back twice due to incorrect cheese option and type of cooked eggs. My toast was also very burnt. Easy changed but when you have to wait 1.5 hours to get in, I can understand why now. Joined the online waitlist. Quoted 23-38 minutes for a table. Drove to the restaurant. Checked in with the host. We saw 2 open seats at the counter there, so we snatched them up! A party of 40 had just been sat in another section, so we anticipated a bit of a wait for food. Ordered coffee and a shareable Loaded Tots. They arrived rather quickly and were delicious, but our server took 15 minutes to return for our breakfast order. We ordered a single entree to share. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. Someone sat down next to us. He ordered and his food came out. He finished his meal. Still no food or server. Sitting at the counter we had plenty to keep us entertained but not a single person payed any attention to us or the fact that we didn't have food. Finally, 45-ish minutes after we ordered, our biscuits & gravy entree arrived. I asked for the check immediately, as we had now been in the restaurant for over an hour. The server ran my card and brought back the receipt. While he was gone I tasted the food. On first glance there was barely enough gravy to cover the tops of the 2 very large biscuits. It had a skin on it and it was slightly warm. The eggs were dried out. Our plate had sat in the window for a period of time. It was obvious. I ate the eggs, my dining companion ate the top of one biscuit and we left. We didn't really like the flavor of the gravy. So it wasn't worth having it remade fresh as we didn't really like it anyway. I want to be clear that I always mean these reviews to be a road map for how the business could make things better. I understand that things can go wrong, and I try to limit any criticism to patterns rather than single events. I go through the Grand Rapids area a lot, and usually enjoy Anna's for breakfast. It's frustrating though that the locations as a group are so inconsistent. Some, like the one in Plainfield seem almost flawless, others, not so much. From food to service, sometimes it's great. But other times the food is not quite right, and everyone working the front acts like this is all just a temporary thing for them, and their goal is to do as little as possible to get through the day. This Anna's in Holland is the most frequently disappointing. A little eye contact and a smile can go a long way. And please stop piling everything onto a single plate. I can't speak to the whole menu, but I often get the impression that the cook didn't show up for work, and someone's cousin has been called to fill in. Nothing is "ruin your day" bad at any Anna's, but it could be fantastic, and unfortunately they miss the mark too often. read more

We chose to stop on a road trip and we're so impressed! Service and ambience for great. Sugar at the table and ketchup are organic. Portions are not small! Including cups of coffee or actually big instead of the tiny ones that get cold and have to be refilled every two minutes. My friends enjoyed their food, the fresh juice was great and refreshing. We went during the tulip festival and it was very busy, everything took longer than we had planned for. Overall our server was kind. Unfortunately I ordered a vegan meal and there was meat in it. They took it off my bill and did what they could to make up for the mistake.
