We had an amazing experience. Let me start off by saying I have done this tour twice in the past but my experience this time was great. Jody the new owner was our guide and we all left with a new outlook on the city of Pasadena and its Old Town history. Second, new locations were added since my last tour. OMG! We had Sipping Chocolate & Venezuelan Chicken Empanadas from Amara Cafe, Chicken Wraps & Pickles from Sincerely Syria, Samosa's & Veggie Pakora from Tibet Nepal House, Garlic Naan, Curry Chicken & more from New Delhi Palace, Scones & Two Pots of Delicious Teas from Chado Tea Room. The Chado staff also gave us a complimentary Iced Hibiscus Tea to try. Last but not least we had wonderful Chocolate Candy from Mignon Chocolate. We were even allowed time to shop for goodies in the great Old Town specialty stores. There is plenty of parking in a garage less than five minutes from the starting point. If you are looking for a fun-filled day, reserve your spot with Melting Pot Tours. Wear comfortable shoes as you will be walking for 3.5 to 4 hours. Stay hydrated. Have fun.

She told us the history of the market and the surrounding area and then took us through the market to sample of the top places. My daughter doesn't even like falafel but she loved the one we ate. Jody told us about the vendors and food. We were part of a small group which allowed us to take our time and really feel like locals. I highly recommend their tours if you want to eat, explore and learn about LA. So fun being tourists in our own town. Can't wait to try one of the other tours. Come hungry because you leave stuffed. And these are just a couple of the goodies we tried.

Weekly selection and drop off of some amazing wines - all with a high quality to price ratio which is important to me. I entertain a lot, but really enjoy most of my wine with meals. 1855 finds the best 'everyday' table wines that are super inexpensive and super good! But when I need something special, Aaron always delivers an incredible wine. I've ordered everything from Meomi to Dom. 1855 gets it for me cheaper than I'd typically pay and I get it delivered to my door! The lead consultant, Aaron began my membership with doing an inventory of my existing wine cellar (less than 5 cases) and marking the ones ready to drink now, those that should lay down, and those that absolutely need time. He helped set up my storage so all bottles are kept in the best condition and will drink at their best when I open them. I'm looking forward to my next project with 1855 - helping me buy and arrange specialized wine glassware for my home. I also hear they do great events, and I'm looking for the right opportunity to have them enhance one of my open houses or brokers opens. Great service model and incredible wine! This concierge level service is a no-brainer for oenophiles.

I contracted 1855 to consult on my wine list for restaurant I opened in Phoenix, AZ, Joe's Midnight Run. -Aaron selected 12 wines, different categories, to fill out the list according to my typical guests' tastes. -We tasted through different styles and regions to get the best list. -He accompanied me to my largest distributor's tasting event to help with selection of wines based on taste, quality, demand and price. -His final recommendations were made in coordination with my chef; taking his time to expertly pair each wine with each entree. -Two of my best selling wines to date - Rombauer Chardonnay and The Prisoner - are still running strong on the wine list from Aaron's initial recommendation. -Aaron continued with regular wine list reviews and made recommendations based on market demand - most recent success was adding a rose to the menu. -For my personal collection, I often reach out to 1855 wine consultants. They helped me acquire the best wine for the best price. They have learned my palate, and make recommendations based on what I have enjoyed in the past. I was referred to 1855 by some other restaurant consultants, and I'm still impressed with the breadth of their services - tours, tastings, consulting, cellar management. Call these guys - you wont regret it.

Lawrence was very professional, prompt and precise throughout the entire booking process. He gave a detailed list of how much alcohol we needed to purchase based on the size of our party. He was very patient with me leading up to the event as I had to change the headcount several times and he even added another bartender to accommodate us. Drinks were great and we had many compliments from our guests. I made my own specialty drink menu and Lawrence was more than happy to accommodate it. Lawrence and his son even showed up in western attire to go along with our theme! We will definitely use Martini Express for our next party/event.

This was a special Indian celebration called a Sangheet, the kickoff to our 3 day, multicultural wedding weekend. Lawrence was helpful and quick to reply to my questions via email - he made confirming & paying easy, which was so appreciated by a bride who had her hands full already! He arrived 3 hours early to setup and as someone who is all about presentation, I was stoked to see such a nicely setup bar, complete with lights, which set such a fun mood. My sister-in-law (who hosted the party at her residence) raved about his service, especially after he accommodated staying a bit later on the spot, as our guests were having such a great time. We will exclusively use Lawrence for all our party and bartending needs!
