Absolute joke of a business. Ships damaged goods, do not stand behind their products. Customer service is non existent. Offered a couple solutions as damage was not very major just a couple minor cosmetics. Offered a potential rebate to my card/ or a new one shipped out with a return label, as why should I have to wait even longer for their messup (tried to blame UPS when the damaged part of the bumper was in a section of the box that was 100% perfect) I was then belittled, harassed, and stalked on facebook by Josh Smith. Who told me he has my address as if he was gonna travel to it, as well as saying I was extorting them/ taking money from his and his coworkers family and kids cause I said I'd keep the bumper for a refund of some of the money, he then proceeded to tried to take jabs at my financial status due to shoes I had on in a photo from 2014, and then told me I was not a decent human. Why? Because you shipped damaged goods and can't provide decent customer service? I would never recommend this company to anybody. read more

Had a car starter installed on my wife's car. This was a Groupon deal and I had never dealt with them before. However, they were very punctual in getting the installation done and did a professional job. They explained the system to me when they were done. I wrote in an email looking for help, after 3 days unanswered I called and spoke with Megan. I was told they only do call backs, and I must not have picked up. Crazy how cellphones show missed calls and Voicemails.... Anyways I had my model information and was told a pretty crazy price. I asked for a break down of what cost what and I was told it doesn't work that way. I have a manual transmission which only requires additional wiring not parts, according to the manufacture. I was told that would be considerably more due to needing more modules and parts. Again, couldn't tell me what parts, or how much. They are currently running a group-on deal that I wanted to purchase and pay the extra fee's. But apparently that isn't applicable to my wildly exotic 2012 Suzuki Sx4. They only want to install a low budget starter system that costs 40 bucks on Amazon while charging you hundreds. Its a real bummer, I'd gladly pay the few hundred for the work, but I just can't bring myself to spend 600 on a starter that is only $180, and then have to suck up $420 in mystery labor and parts. I was trying to spend my money at a local small business, but learned a lesson in why they are slowly falling by the way side. Hopefully this review saves some people from these wildly vague invoices that can't be added up by their own employees. read more

I have got 3 car starters from my friends at guru and I could not be more pleased. They are always on time and the prices are the best around town. I also get my car detailed from them about every month and they do a fantastic job with that also. Definitely would recommend them for any electronic, detail, or tint job for your vehicle. read more

I purchased a groupon for a remote car starter for my Mom for Christmas. I live 2 states away and when my Mom called to schedule her appointment she was told she would be charged another $110.88. It isn't the fee that bothers me. It's the fact that people purchase these groupon's as gifts and with these "additional fees" the gift recipient is left holding the bag (or in my case left waiting for another check to arrive in the mail, so she isn't paying for her own present). The total cost for the purchase should have included all fees. It is extremely poor customer service on the company's part. read more

Bought a Groupon for a car starter in November '14 but they couldn't get me in until late January. Whatever, it's a busy season. Dropped my car off the day before and then showed up the next day around 5 pm and they hadn't started the install yet. Kind of irritating but they put it together in about 45 minutes. Car starter works great, no issues so far, everyone was really nice and helpful. My only other complaint was that my car smelled like some smoked an entire pack of cigarettes in the driver's seat, had to drive home with the windows down. Overall, satisfied with the service, not overwhelmed or disappointed in any way. read more

We were doing EXTRA on your vehicle because we had the time...or so we thought. And you didn't wait 15 minutes when you got here. You walked up to the door, glanced in...and when I saw you I ran out to talk to you. And the detailer pulled the car out immediately. Did you mean 15 seconds? Groupon Review: (February 16, 2014): Bought interior detail deal. Still dusty inside. Got call from manager at 3:45p saying it was done, but keys would be in car because he was going home. Made it there in 15 min only to wait another 15 for car to actually be finished. Never returning.} I'd like to take this opportunity to explain further my poor experience. This was not the first time my household has given MEG business. We purchased two Groupons. Each time, the manager opened after 9 a.m. (The first time he didn't arrive until after 10 a.m.) This past weekend he reeked of marijuana. As I mentioned above, I was told my car was ready but would be left in the parking lot, keys inside. Upon my arrival, the car (thankfully) was not in the lot. After waiting 15 minutes in the car, I got out to look around. The open sign was off, front door locked. See, the last time we used the Groupon, we waited inside for 15 minutes after receiving the call it was ready. As for the claim of 'EXTRA' clean: it's either clean or not. There is no extra. In my car, there was still dust on the dashboard and rear-view mirror, and the driver side door compartment was dirty. Instead of taking criticism with sarcasm, MEG should take a look in the mirror and improve it's service before it doesn't have an opportunity to correct its shortfalls. read more

This is an unprofessional business as far as my experience goes. My car's original CD player stopped working, (it's an AM/FM/CD player/receiver) so I went in to Mobile Electronics Guru and paid over $200 for an AM/FM/CD Receiver which he installed. The FM stations came in and the CD player worked, but there was NO AM Radio at all! He tells me, "You can't get AM Radio down here - in the valley." "They don't pay much attention to having after market car radios get AM anymore" and he was angry at me and said, "You didn't ask for AM!" Yet, I had purchased an AM/FM/CD Receiver (a good one: Pioneer brand, nothing wrong with the radio). He would do nothing for me when I complained that there was no AM Radio. I drove to another location (several around town) to see if I got any AM radio, but there was not even one station coming in. So, the next day I went down the street to Mickey Shorr Mobile Electronics and they installed an AM/FM/CD Receiver and it gets every AM radio station, every FM station and the CD player works. I drove to the location of the Mobile Electronics Guru ("down in the valley where 'you can't get AM radio'," as he says) and I get every AM radio station just like I wanted.'' I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as this business operator told me untrue things: "you can't get AM radio" Yes, I can and do now that I have a properly installed radio/CD player! And: they advertised that they provided a service (installing AM/FM/CD receivers) that they do not provide since there is no AM (and owner says you can't get AM which is ridiculous!) When I asked him if there was ANYTHING at all he could do to get AM radio, (and I was willing to pay more to get the thing working) even a signal booster or something, he said, "No." Well, he was wrong about something so utterly basic, that the only conclusion is that (while he may know something about other areas of his business) he doesn't have a clue about AM radio or proper installation, or what is possible or what should be done to properly install these car AM/FM/CD receivers (if he really believed that "you can't get AM radio" on an aftermarket car radio. Either he believes what he told me, which means he's not a professional and clueless about his own business, or he lied to me. I do not know which one. Now, I'm waiting to see if I get a refund for service that did not provide what I paid for (and a refund for the radio which I am returning in the box unusable as installed!). I would never go to this business again, not just because of the incompetent service, but because the owner was rude, raised his voice to me, and blamed me for even asking for AM radio, as if that was a crime.... The technician said that on my car the cost would be $208.00, $99.00 additional. I'm waiting to see if Groupon honors my refund request. read more

Took my car into Mobile Electronics for window tinting (35% all around). They did a great job and I have zero complaints. Went around the entire car a number of times and couldn't find any bubbles or blemishes. Looks awesome! Price was really good as well. Very happy. read more

HORRENDOUS customer service by the OWNER! I had a Groupon Remote Starter installed, returned to store to ask questions about how it operates and point out my vehicle REEKED of cigarette smoke. Unprovoked the owner was yelling and screaming at me in the parking lot! Saying things like "are we a bunch of losers and hacks?" Not my words, his! He said "I've installed thousands of these pieces of crap." I wanted to ask why are you selling something you think is a piece of crap, but honestly could not get a word in while he ranted and yelled at me.... his paying customer! I will NEVER buy anything there again, and suggest you don't either! read more

These guys are a complete joke. I had them install a remote starter in my vehicle a few weeks ago. Since then the car has fried two batteries and I am on the third. I called Josh, who's customer service is non existent, and tried to explain to him what the issue was. He said there was no way that this was his problem and that he wasn't going to do anything to help. I again explained to him what the issue was, he told me that I could bring it in for him to take the remote car starter out but he wasn't going to refund any of my money. I then explained to him that this was unacceptable at which point he hung up the phone on me. THESE GUYS ARE COMPLETE JOKES! A couple of hacks trying to pose as legitimate business owners and experts. I just filed a complaint with the BBB of West Michigan and will be contacting a lawyer depending on the nature of the full repair. Time to take the car to some one who really knows whats going on. read more

Wow! Terrible customer experience when I dropped my car off to have a remote starter installed. I scheduled an appointment 2 months prior to the visit and was told the install would take 2-3 hours. I gave them information about the make and model of my car. They said that I would also have to purchase a bypass which I was expecting. No problem. However, when I dropped off my car they said that the install would take all day. The guy at the front desk said that with all of the cars ahead of me that day that there is no way it would be done in 2-3 hours and that my car was the absolute worst for remote starter installation. Not being a "mobile electronics guru" myself, I had no idea about the install or the time that it would take. I assumed that a business who did these sorts of jobs would schedule appropriately. But instead recognizing that there may have been an issue with communication or scheduling, both men became very defensive. They all but called me a liar. When I asked for the time of completion to be put in writing to avoid further "miscommunications", the owner very grudgingly wrote a time on my invoice and stormed out to the garage. Really loud music and swearing started coming from the garage. As he told me twice, he may very well be "the best installer in GR", but his business acumen is amateur and rude. Several friends have indicated that they would like to have a remote starter installed and I have told them to avoid this place. I am hoping and praying that he is better at installing than building relationships with customers. I had read other reviews of the business on yahoo and noticed that the owner also derided the reviewers online. I guess I should have expected this and stayed away despite the great Groupon deal. read more

Terrible service. We had the first appointment of the day so we dropped our Civic off before they opened. They were supposed to be completed by 1 or 2 but didn't finish till 6:30. Scheduling issues arise so we shrugged it off happy that we had our remote starter. I drove the car for one round trip to work and then it sat over the weekend. Then Monday morning my car wouldn't start because the battery had been drained. I waited till they opened and then called asking for assistance. They said that it's not possible their installation or hardware was causing the issue. They said they could run a diagnostic but if it wasn't their problem it would cost me $100. And seeing how they weren't open to the possibility of it being their problem we decided that would be a waste of money. Mistakes and hardware failure happen... good customer service is about how a company responds to them. read more

Just go and read all the review on Facebook and google, you will easily see they have no problem arguing with customers even on public forum where all can see it, so just imagine it being worse when you are in their place of business. radio and detailing done. Upon pick up they forgot to detail the inside. They put in a different radio than asked for. The trim around the radio was not attached and fell off. Also the am/fm does not work. When we brought it back they said it was due to weak signals, but funny stations work on every other radio I own. BTW trim still not attached. read more

If I could rate this place as no stars I would. I bought a groupon for this place for detailing. To my surprise I call and got someone rude on the phone and said they were 2 months out. I shrugged it off and tried a few months later before the Groupon expired. they still said 2 months out not to mention the rude person on the phone again. So after waiting even long and now the Groupon is expired I called again and guess what same rudeness and same 2 months!!! Sounds like a scam to me! I talked to Groupon and they told The electronics Guru to call me. Its been a week and a half no response. Stay away from these guys. Check out the google reviews as well. Sad. read more

Do not be fooled by the Groupon being offered, it will cost you far more in the long run. I bought one of the Groupons and called in to set up an appointment and inquire about the 'bypass' as none of the other places I had looked into had mentioned it. I was informed that the bypass was an additional $100 and was needed on almost all cars made after 2005. I called around and realized two things: 1) the bypass was not mandatory for my vehicle or this model of car starter, there were multiple ways around it. and 2) this exact model being advertised as a value of over $300 was being installed at MULTIPLE other shops for $199 and these installs did not require an additional cost of $100. When I called back and brought this to the attention of the shop I was told I could go somewhere else if I wanted a "piece of s**t car starter". I promptly called Groupon and returned my certificate. The woman that helped me was not surprised, and apparently I was not the first to want a refund for this particular certificate. Judging by all of these reviews - not to mention the responses - I was one of the lucky ones. There are MANY shops in town with great reputations that won't cost you any more than this "deal". I spent $225 out the door. read more
