Stopped in for a coffee this morning, and was greeted at the counter by a friendly barista. Ordered a hot latte and it was very good - smooth flavor and the perfect temperature. The ambiance is lacking a bit, not quite what you would picture a coffee shop. It's not a place I would sit for coffee, but I would definitely go again for the latte. read more

Wanted to support local, but this was robbery. The cappuccino was undrinkable (tasted of milk and left an unpleasant bitter aftertaste in the mouth- we threw it away along with the $5.00 we spent). The breakfast sandwich was actually Jimmy Dean and marked up for resale. So disappointing. Though it is veteran owned and local, there is no excuse for the poor quality of the food and drink. We will not be returning. The only saving grace was the sweet baristas behind the counter. Very kind folks. read more

Ordered a decaf iced americano with cinnamon powder on top. Was charged 75cents for the cinnamon powder because it was classified under "syrups" on the receipt / screen. With tax for a 12oz iced decaf americano with a splash of milk and cinnamon powder was $5.44 Then I saw the decaf coffee was scooped out of a plastic tub (was not grinded fresh from decaf beans). For a coffee shop this is embarrassing (how do you not grind fresh decaf beans?). Naturally the coffee tasted stale and bland. I took a few sips and poured it out onto a bush outside. With this current heat wave the plants appreciated this coffee way more than I could. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars was because the employee making the coffee was very nice. read more

Had a chance to visit this sweet little coffee shop tucked away in Apex.. Its cozy and makes you want to lounge for hrs and we actually stayed for 2. We were also able to meet the owner who was really nice and made sure to check in on us and all other patrons.. Latte was yummy and there's tons of flavors to choose from. I'll give this place 3.5 stars honestly. The service was not good. At all. The person upfront clearly did not want to be there. The scone tasted old and dried up. One of the coffees just tasted like milk. But the other Coffee was delicious and so was the pumpkin loaf. So I'm 50/50 on it. If I came in and only ordered the bad things i would never have gone back. But since I ordered a ton of things and half of it was good, I'd be open to visiting it again in the future if I'm nearby. I won't go out of my way though to visit it. read more

The Mocha Room is a veteran-owned coffee shop in Apex. We stopped in to grab a beverage and also got a muffin, it was a strawberry lemonade for me and a mocha with whole milk for my husband. They use Five Star coffee from Holly Springs (we love their coffee and story). The service, drinks and muffin were all good. Lovely, quiet coffee shop in Apex. Perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee on the couch or starting your work day off right. Parking is available out front. The employee working the counter was very welcoming and efficient. She patiently answered my questions and took my order. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. I love the set up inside since it is welcoming and provides privacy if you plan to work. I stayed for a little while to work on my computer and the environment was perfect. While I worked I enjoyed a self-made waffle, matcha latte, and chocolate chunk vanilla muffin. The best part was the waffle. In total, it took about 3 minutes to make and was very straight forward. I topped mine with blueberry and chocolate. The matcha latte tasted great, but had too much ice and not enough matcha. The muffin had a good flavor, but was too dry. It would have been better paired with a hot cup of tea or coffee. The only recommendation I have is to offer silverware to those dining in. I don't personally like eating with plasticware. Overall, I had a good experience and recommend this cafe to others! read more

This was the absolute worst coffee I've ever had. Have you ever seen those videos where people order coffee with half the cup filled with syrup? That's what this tasted like, except I just wanted a normal amount of syrup. Thought I'd just get a replacement with no syrup, and now I'm convinced they don't even add espresso it just tastes like milk. Waste of $12. read more

This was my first time going here. They had a Mother's Day bingo and breakfast. It was very cute. The food and coffee were good and the workers were super friendly! They have large indoor jenga, a karaoke machine, some books and things for kids. My daughter was most excited about the make your own waffles. Will definitely be back! read more

I have been to The Mocha Room on three separate occasions. My boyfriend and I like to support local coffee shops and The Mocha Room is relatively close to our home. Last Tuesday before traveling for Thanksgiving, I ordered a simple 20oz iced latte with dulce de leche syrup, however, it tasted purely of milk. My boyfriend's drink was to his liking, but the ratio of milk to espresso in my drink was highly disappointing. To spend upwards of $6 on a 20oz cup of milk is not how I wanted to start my morning. However, I will say that the customer service of The Mocha Room has never disappointed me. I would say that I would like to try The Mocha Room again, but I am reluctant to waste my money. read more

I saw this place as my husband and I were driving. I'm always looking for a new coffee spot, so I figured I'd check it out. I pulled up and there were no cars in front, so I almost drove away. I walked in and saw a couch and a table and then saw a sign saying to order in the back. The young woman working stood up when I came in. I ordered a medium iced vanilla latte, and for over $6, this is what I got. I was severely disappointed when I took a sip. Tasted like watered down almond milk with no flavor. The owner was very gracious to offer her place to us for the night for a small beverage purchase, but how great was that purchase. The coffee was good and pastries delicious. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because of the customer service or lack thereof. The barista was not friendly or even welcoming. I was the only person in there so they weren't exactly busy at the time. There was no "welcome, have you been in before, what can I get you, or thank you and please come back". Just grunts in response to small talk. It was a bit uncomfortable. I will go back but will try a different day and/or time to see if the customer service is better or there is a different person working. read more
