During our swamp tour we had a few minutes to kill so we came in here for drinks, The lady bartender when we asked what they had she didn't seem to have much of a clue? & the beers we mentioned they didn't seem to have so we ended up getting Modelo beers, not bad they were nice & cold. This joint is definitely the definition of a dive bar , the look the crowed the location it's like what are the chances u will end up here again on purpose? ahh not likely! The bar serves its purposes for drinks & killing a lil bit of time , not bad at all. read more

Honestly from the outside this place doesn't look like much however we were pleasantly surprised with how amazing it was! The chef literally waved us in from outside, sat us at our table and took our order. He then made the food and brought it to us. Talk about a 5-star experience! Excellent local bar. Their tagline was Where Everyone Feels Like a Local and it really it fitting! The entire bar turned to greet us as we came in before our swamp tour. Some of the best food I've had on my visit down to New Orleans! The locals (shout out Ray) were so welcoming and friendly. Mike, the chef, was also accommodating for my sister and mom who don't eat meat or seafood! We hung out here before and after our swamp tour and had some strong drinks and laughs. Highly recommend; this is as local as you can get and we will definitely be coming back. read more

I LOVE this place! We had missed our swamp tour and things were looking grim. We saw Mona Lisa's and thought we might as well get some oysters while we're out here. One of the cooks was outside and welcomed us in with open arms, it felt like you were with family rather than a bunch of strangers! We ordered some crawfish egg rolls and chargrilled oysters that were AMAZING! The owner came and chatted with us for a while and she was a great conversation. One of the locals offered to take our picture for us as well. The people and the food were high quality! I would definitely stop in for a beverage and some food if you're out this way! read more

We tried crawfish boil for the first time tonight and Chef Youngblood's crawfish did not disappoint. His seasoning was on point and he even gave us a tutorial on how to twist off the tail, suck the head, open the tail to get more meat, and then crack open the claws for the last two bites. We were with kids, so we ate outside at one of their picnic tables. And before leaving, I asked the bartender Marsha for one more can of Coke. I only had my credit card with me, so Marsha offered to pay for it. I politely declined and then a regular customer jumped in and offered as well. I accepted his offer and thanked them both. Tony booked our fan boat tour. Made it simple & handed us a few beers for the tour. We came back through after the tour to sip some more and play pool. All the locals are laid back chill and fun to communicate with. We are so happy to find a lil hole in the wall so welcoming to us from Austin Texas. read more

We saw the amazing exterior on our way to a very fun swamp tour and knew that we needed to drop in. The friendliness is unreal. We walked in and got a "TOURISTS!" Shout out and it was awesome. I think they go get food at the seafood center across the lot for what they serve each day. All the food was 10 bunch and was real good. The regular who gave me the napkin flowers was the master of the jukebox and had an awesome eclectic mix. Nothing like 50 cent and lynard skynyrd in one sitting. It was awesome. This place brought out my inner Westbank... I thought I hid it all those years ago when I left the Westbank to live on the Eastbank.. but the minute I walked into this establishment, the Westbank in me came out ready to party! The use everything to put this bar together, the DJ outside playing every westbank song you can think of, the bartender who has been there for so many years, the bikers, the bachelorette party, and just every oddball in the joint. We stopped by this place for a quick drink after taking the swamp tour. Let me just say I am glad we did! The hospitality we received right when we walked in was amazing! Everyone was absolutely friendly and welcoming! Marsha, the bartender made the best hurricane ever! Strong but not overpowering and not too sweet, just perfect! When they found out we were there on our honeymoon one of the locals bought us a round . Unfortunately we didn't eat since we were still full from a big lunch but if we ever go back we definitely will try the food! They sell shirts and koozies and they have a tradition of passer byers writing a message on a dollar bill and taping it to anywhere on the bar, so make sure you do it! read more

The 5 star rating for the Mona Lisa lounge is more than fitting. My boyfriend and I stopped by while we were waiting for our swamp tour nearby. Everyone was so welcoming and hospitable, even the guests. We had some deliciously strong hurricanes. We couldn't have asked for a better atmosphere! Coming to this bar was by far one of my best experiences in New Orleans! Before our swamp tour down the street, we stopped by and grabbed three buckets of beer. After the tour we came back for more hurricanes and crawfish. The owner Tony is an amazing guy! Thanks to his southern hospitality he made it the best day of our whole bachelorette trip! He cooks an amazing crawfish boil! I left stuffed! This is a local bar where you can get that down home feel! All the locals are friendly. Even had the pleasure of hanging out with some baby raccoons. Not many people get to do that! If you are in the area please stop by this place, you will not be disappointed. Next time I'm in The Big Easy it'll be one of my first stops. Thanks again Tony for your generosity and hospitality, you made our day a blast. You're a real gem! read more

Very cool dive bar! Great pricing on drinks and they have some choices of food that gives you a taste of Louisiana! The new cook they have is great and very helpful. This was our second trip to New Orleans and we always stop by here on our way to do the Swamp airboat tour right across the street. A great way to get a bucket of beer and enjoy your airboat experience. I definitely recommend if you want a Louisiana experience. read more

Stopped by this amazing dive bar close to the ultimate swamp tour adventure, these people couldn't have been nicer. They have a sign out front that reads "tourists welcome" how could a guy like me from the north, refuse such a thing? I'm telling you New Orleans and the cities surrounding it like this one are everything I love. Setting dark, want to smoke a cigarette, you can. Play a game of pool? Sure ! Darts ? Yup ! Juke box check. Poker machine you bet-cha see what I did there? The help, well on this day Corkey and Betsy (like the hurricane) are aiming to please. They suggested a hurricane drink, and how could I refuse? It was fantastic, not all sugar, just right homemade deliciousness. So if you are out chasing gators like I was all day and sitting in 100 degree heat like I was, be sure to stop in here and support the local community and drop a few bucks. They are nice enough to put a sign up to invite you, why not return the favor. God bless America and god bless places like these. read more

Super cool local bar. If you are doing the nearby swamp tour grab yourself some drinks and grub at Mona Lisa's before and after. The hospitality of the locals is a rare and special thing. Ray and Hurricane Betsy took us under their wing and made us feel welcomed. Mike was super welcoming and also made us some delicious boudin balls and fries. Bloody Marys are tasty here. I had such a fun time at the ML lounge that I actively missed my tour bus ride back to NOLA and ate a $50 uber to continue hanging out with these awesome folk. Best hurricane I had all weekend, and that's saying something because I had a bunch. read more

I ordered a Ferdi (half ham, half roast beef) and a cup of gumbo. The chicken and sausage gumbo was delicious! The roux was dark, the seasoning was perfect and the temperature was piping hot. The Ferdi was equally delish. The bread came out crisp as it was put in the oven for the cheese to melt. Perfect. The meal was so simple but amazing. I will definitely be back to explore more of the menu, but it will be hard not to get the Ferdi and gumbo again.

THIS Mona Lisa, makes the famous art work under the same name look like a drunk 3-year olds finger painting. If you want to experience real art, have Leonardo take a rain check and point your compass in the direction of Weswego, no paint brushes needed. Well, Is the food good you ask? The seafood balls, the wings, and the crawfish are INCREDIBLE. It's been said the crawfish around here actually jump out of the water and dry-drown themselves, in hopes of being added to a pot in the kitchen of the Mona Lisa. That's their Super Bowl (pun). The owners and servers here are so charming and kind. You will feel so indebted to them, that you'll start washing dishes and taking their orders in hopes of paying them back a fraction of the pure bliss they have so effortlessly given you. When you put this all together - the food, the people - what you get is nothing short of electric. You'll leave the Mona Lisa feeling like you operate on a different frequency than the rest, like the experience charged batteries in you you didn't know you had, like you could square up with a lightening storm. Spotted this dive bar before going on ultimate swamp tour and got a hurricane before the boat ride. Everyone was very welcoming, friendly, and attentive. They figured out we were out-of-towners and gave us great reccomendations. After the tour we went back in for more hurricanes (very refreshing and not too sweet) and lunch. I don't like seafood but I tried the seafood balls and Creole stuffed bread and both were amazing. Great people, great quality, and cheap prices! I'd go here again for sure. Ray was one of our favorite parts of visiting and the reason we came back for lunch. He will show you a good time! read more

Omg!! Don't ever judge a book by its cover! Lucked up on this place! Was going on a gator boat tour and just so happened to go in for a drink before the tour. And was this a great decision! The people were the best! Instantly felt like family! Southern hospitality at its Finest!! Chef Lonnie, bar tender Beth! Love them! Meet the owners, they hung out with us talked, told stories. We couldn't believe this little jem tucked away next to the seafood market. Great drinks. Great prices. Awesome locals. The food was incredible. We shared shrimp poboys (fried and blackened), swamp fries and mango chicken wings. Couldn't have been fresher or better. Stopped in real quick to try the chargrilled oysters. It was a bummer to hear that they were out of them . So we ended up getting the fried oysters with fries. They were delicious! Found this place walking to the truck after a swamp tour, met Tony the owner, he was cooking jambalaya in the parking lot, what a neat place, had some complimentary jambalaya with a few drinks, great mom and pop place, off the beaten path, exactly what we look for when on vacation, will go back by if ever in the area !! This is the best food I've had in New Orleans. Chef Lonnie's blacked shrimp and swamp fries are unparalleled. The bartenders make hurricanes better than you'll ever get in the city. Went here before the swamp tour. You can buy buckets of beer to take along with you. Food is amazing. The chef is classically trained and it shows. Had the shrimp po'boy and burger, both were great. Two dollar cans and three dollar bottles of beer. Those prices can't be beat. read more

This was one of my favorite places we happen to visit during our stay. The staff (Corky) and owner (Tony) are great folks. Corky made the best Hurricane you'd ever have. Plenty of locals and tourists to match the old school music, pool tables, dance floor and dart board. read more
