    Onion and pepper rings

A true neighborhood gem! Crawfish were great and they make a perfect French fry debris poboy. Also the only place I have ever had fried green pepper rings!

Hot and delicious food, served with a smile. For the first time ever, I had fried green bell peppers! Did you know this was a thing??? I didn't! We ordered the 1/2 onion rings and 1/2 bell peppers. Truth be told, the peppers were better than the onion rings. I also had the amazing seafood gumbo, cooked in a dark roux. I then split a fried shrimp poboy with a friend. All were great and Terrell, our server, made sure we were well taken care of! This place is quickly becoming a must stop for me! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the local feel and family, friendly atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Bonus points if you can get Mark, the bartender to smile. :)

Parking is very easy and they have seafood that is delicious! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's an old school feel with upbeat music and awesome food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'd have given 5 stars, but we didn't get exactly what we ordered and it seemed to be true for several other tables as well.

Finally got to check F&J's off my bucket list! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the neighbor pub vibe and the service was delightful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I haven't had a good stuffed artichoke in forever it's so great to find an eatery that makes them. Very heavy on the stuffing but hearty and delish. The eggplant parm was also good but the only sauce is spooned over the top of the eggplant and not enough to blend into the pasta but I made it work. Their marinade is wonderful. My hub got red beans and rice which are your typical no-muss no-fuss bowl of beans.

A true neighborhood gem with that classic NOLA charm! Frankie & Johnny's delivers on all fronts--great food, fast service, and a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere. The food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious--full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this is the kind of spot that makes you feel right at home. If you're looking for an authentic, no-fuss New Orleans dining experience, Frankie & Johnny's is the place to be. Can't wait to come back!

Crab cake appetizer was very nice and the Charbroiled oysters were tasty, but by pricey, 1/2 dozen for $17.99. I was disappointed with the grilled artichoke as it was SO full of breadcrumbs, it was hard to find an artichoke in the bowl (see before and after pictures). [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was ok and ambiance was ok.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat in the back dining room and almost all the tables sat empty once people left but all their leftover food stayed on the tables until they came to cleanup at 9pm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Definitely a locals place (not touristy at all).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also, all their website food pictures of the crawfish broils on the were not available as crawfish season is apparently February to June. Good parking available though.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]F & J is a SOLID choice for a great meal, casual atmosphere, comfy and cool (air conditioning is fantastic), and you walk away KNOWING you got a solid meal for a good price.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Bartenders there always 10/10. Great beer and other drink selections. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Clean bathrooms![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There is a small parking area on the side of the restaurant but when it's poplin', you may have to park on the street- be kind and done park/block a residents driveway- they will tow! My only possible constructive comment- service here is hit or miss.... Some days our server if really great, some days it's "eh". Other than that, it's a .

Perfect First Bite in New Orleans - Frankie & Johnny's! We had lunch at Frankie & Johnny's right after landing in New Orleans, and it was the best decision we could've made. From the moment we walked in, we felt like we were in for an authentic local experience--and we absolutely were. The po' boys were amazing, and we loved that you can do half a po' boy and half gumbo or red beans and rice--such a great way to sample more of the menu. Everything was beautifully plated and tasted heavenly. I had the Ferdie po' boy with a side of red beans and rice, and it was bursting with flavor. My husband had the fried oyster po' boy with a side of gumbo, and we also tried the fresh shrimp. Every single dish was spectacular--fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The service was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Our server even gave us great local recommendations for other spots to check out during our stay, which we really appreciated. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Thankfully, we got there just before the lunch rush, because this place definitely gets busy--and now we know why![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This was the perfect start to our trip, and we'll definitely be back next time we're in town. Highly recommend!

My boyfriend and I finally made it to Frankie & Johnny's after wanting to try it for a long time. We walked in for lunch. It was packed! It always seems packed whenever I drive by but maybe it's just because the parking lot is small. The restaurant itself is big inside though. We split a pound of crawfish, charbroiled oysters, and a shrimp platter. I swapped out onion rings for fries. Everything was great! I especially thought the onion rings were great. I would go back and try more food!

Grilled shrimp were tasteless and rubbery. The spaghetti and meatballs tasted as if sitting in pot a very long time. Service was fine.

We all started with cocktails, I had a version of a dirty martini that featured vermouth which gave it a lighter and almost sweet flavor that is not the briny flavor of the typical dirty martini. I enjoyed it but I only had one. We ordered so many different things but the standouts include the tomato & mango salad, the oyster bed roast, the tandoori squash and my entree the pork vindaloo. It was sooo delicious and I was grateful to have leftovers because everyone else at the table order the softshell crab entree. That bothered me only a little because it was way too much food but also, it's a pet peeve of mine when people order the same thing- why not try/share everything on the menu ‍ Anyway, the service was excellent and so attentive. I was also treated a large slice of chocolate cake as a birthday treat. I was so stuffed but I managed a couple bites and shared with everyone. The consensus is that it was a phenomenal dining experience! Definitely a birthday treat.

Our server, Christopher, was very attentive, suggested wine pairings, and gave us great recommendations. We started with the charbroiled oysters which is a must.
