The Mosquito Inn is Awesome! My brother and I were visiting the area and came across this beautiful bar. We sat down and had a couple of beers and spoke with the owners who were really great people. We left and later came back for their fried chicken dinner. It was the best fried chicken I've had in many years, and I currently live in SC which really says something. If there were more choices in the area, this may be a three star review, since it's the only game in town, I went 4. Nice place inside, we went about 6pm on a Friday night, fairly busy, but not loud. I bet this place is packed after dark with a rowdy bunch. Friday night is whitefish night, beer batter was a little heavy, but nicely done, I would order again. My companion had the worst ribeye steak of her life, really low quality meat cooked with no sear at all, barely edible. Cheese balls were as good as any, nothing special, but if you like fries cheese curds, go for it. Was a little caught off guard they only accept cash, they have an atm. Despite the proximity to D's base camp and the fact that it is owned by the same people, I had high hopes for this place. When we walked in we were positive about this place. However the longer that we were there the worse it got. The staff was rather cold to us and the regulars wanted nothing to do with us. They were pretty strict with us wearing masks (understandably so) however when anyone with the local accent didn't have a mask on there was no issue with them. Great place to stop for food while on the sleds (and probably a Harley)! The new owner is super nice and is here working every night. Food is pretty good. Chili is very good and so are the cheese curds. They have a well-stocked bar and even have draft beer. Plenty of parking for sleds or trucks with trailers. Right on snowmobile trail 3, so it's a good rest/warm-up stop. read more

Megan T I don't know what you were expecting. You were in the Northwoods of the U.P. This place is rustic. It is a bar atmosphere with dining. It's quaint and cozy. Staff is friendly. Loved this place! Widow Maker on tap, perfect. Since I don't eat meat I had the mosquito burger minus the burger.. And it was frickin awesome with extra jalepenos. Yummmmy and waffle fries woohoo..
