I don't know how the owner gets the Singapore chili flavor so perfectly, but it instantly takes me back to Malaysia. The sauce is rich, slightly sweet, and has just the right amount of heat. I always get the baked whitefish with risotto, and it's the best whitefish in town: fresh, flaky, and full of flavor. Service is by number, but it usually moves really fast, and the summer ambiance makes it even better with open windows, a fresh breeze drifting in, and the scent of the grill in the air. Their quality has been consistently delicious throughout the years. This dish has become a monthly summer treat for me, especially after a productive week. The fish had a very light breading, and that is how I like it!!! Fries were absolutely delicious!! This place is great example of how to fry the local Lake Superior fare. The service is very rudimentary, and basically fast food like. I'm not mad about that!! This is not fine dining, it is dining fine. First time eating white fish, I will say it is dense, yet moist. I don't even like fish that much, and I'd say this place is purdy fire. My wife was super hyped to try this place, so we went, and man, 10:10. We muffed up and got there like 10-15 mins before they closed. They were super chill about it, I hate being those ppl tho. The best place ever to buy Fresh Fish!!!! We eat only Peterson's fresh caught Lake Superior fish! Always the best, never fishy tasting. Won't buy any fish but Peterson's and their fresh smoked fish is awesome also. We bring our cooler and go home with enough to last us until our next trip up there......a 2+ hour drive one way. Our whole family loves Four Suns, and are happy that they opened this week. I had the parmesan crusted baked white fish; my son had the singapore chili baked white fish with rissotto. The restaurant is technically called "Four Suns." It sits just back from Peterson's Fish Market. I love whitefish, and I love fried fish and I have never had better than at Four Suns. Even in England! Everything is cooked fresh and is served super crispy. The fries are great, too. It may not be the most healthy way to eat fish, but ya gotta live a little once in a while. I love Petersons fish market. They make some of the bets smoked whitefish in the UP where it has the perfect level of smoked flavor without being too greasy. The whitefish basket or sandwich I are my favorite but the tostada is also amazing. The view of the portage is also unmatched in how beautiful it is. But if you are looking for great fish that is fresh and tastes wonderful this is the right place! I ordered the Whitefish Tostada and Whitefish Taco. He tostada was very fresh and tasted great. I was extremely disappointed with the lunch we had at this restaurant. First thing that surprised me was the price of the menu items, ended up paying 36.00 for lunch I ordered the baked white fish basket, It came with one very small fillet that was quite fishy tasting. We couldn't get fries since the fryer was not working and had a baked potato instead. The coleslaw was ok but otherwise nothing special. Don't think we'll ever be going back. Peterson's made it worth it. In the event that you are looking for fish look no further, what an awesome experience. Super casual, order at the window byob style. I effing love it! They crank out the food and they have a system that seems to just flow. I very much enjoyed the chowder; it's perfectly seasoned with a nice smokey flavor. Don't be intimidated, it's really really good. I also ordered the Whitefish just the meat Singapore style and I ate every last bit. A nice spice, really fresh and juicy fish... it was really a treat. Though I had hesitation when ordering a taco in Northern Michigan (I had the you should know better talk in my head) I went through with it because the gal working said it was her fave and she said it in absolute confidence. She didn't mis-lead me. Arguably the best fish taco I have ever had outside of Oahu. The crust had such a great crunch and the fish was tender and moist, with fresh cabbage... ahh man was it tasty. My one complaint is the plastic cutlery. First of all plastic cutlery in general just sucks, but secondly, really? In a place (I'm talkin' the area, not the establishment) where you STILL CAN'T RECYCLE why are we using these things, it's just creates so much unnecessary waste. Truth is, if I didn't have a flight to catch in Detroit I'd probably stay another day and do it all over. Don't fish through the mediocre restaurants (no pun intended) looking for fresh fish you have found it. Go today so that you'll be able to go tomorrow too. We were staying in Houghton a couple of weeks ago and asked some locals were the best fresh Lake Superior whitefish dinner. Everyone we asked recommend Peterson's Fish Market. Petersons has a market in a building out front that sells smoked fish. We bought 1 lb of smoked whitefish and 1 lb of smoked lake trout. It was incredibly delicious. Then we went out back to the restaurant called 4 Suns Fish and chips. We ordered the fried whitefish dinner and it was excellent. Very fresh and so delicious. If you ever find yourself in this beautiful part of the world I highly recommend Peterson's Fish Market and 4 Sun's Fish & Chips. read more

Great location right next to the Quincy Mine. The fish is excellent. Uses more or a cornbread crust, which gives the whitefish a fantastic crunch and extra bit of flavor. Fish Tacos, using the same crunchy, delicious whitefish, were superb. Only suggestion I'd make is adding some dill to the tartar sauce. Otherwise, excellent fish n chips! read more

We've driven by this place many times over the last few years and haven't stopped because we were in a hurry or not hungry. What a mistake. You HAVE TO go here!!!! We had a white fish basket with fries and slaw and a white fish sandwich with fries. Both were excellent. The whitefish was the perfect size, not too big or too small and also wasn't fishy tasting like a lot of whitefish. The batter is light, crispy and more like a cornbread batter. The fries are not fresh cut but they're still crispy and delicious. The tartar sauce is homemade and pretty good. They serve the whitefish basket with 6 or 7 pieces of fish, a big side of tartar so you don't have to ask for more, 2 lemon slices and a big side of homemade coleslaw which was also really good. All of the tables have malt vinegar on them to accompany your fish and fries. The fish tacos looked excellent but we didn't get those this time around. You order your own food from one window and pick it up at another window. There are probably 12 tables inside with additional seating outside. They also have a smokehouse attached which smelled amazing and I hear is fantastic. If you're looking to get some top notch whitefish while in da U.P. you need to get it here. You won't be disappointed. We already can't wait to go back. read more
