And...wow..the interior of this hotel was magnificent! I loved the very interesting feel of it. Food for the eyes for sure! The bartender at a lobby greeted me immediately and he was very friendly and helpful with some food and drinks information there. I had a good chat while enjoying my evening snacks for sure! I had a guac + salsa...and I didn't expect it to be anything different..but..wow..the way they dressed the food..it felt worth more than $12 price tag for sure! Sorry, I forgot my phone in my car but...possibly the fanciest dressing of guac and salsa order I had in the longest time! The only minus was you have to find street parking or go valet (but..if you aren't there to stay..its probably not worth paying for the valet). Street parking is also likely harder to find downtown on weekdays. I got super lucky with one last parking spot that opened up across the street on a weekend day evening..so I snagged it and headed into the hotel. I thought this was a good way to check out the hotel for sure! I think if I needed to use up my quarterly credits from my credit card, this was a wonderful way to spend it for sure!

On a busy convention night, the dining room was packed, yet the energy felt festive rather than frantic. Thanks to a well-timed reservation, my party settled in comfortably despite the initial blast of aggressive air-conditioning--a smart move after last week's heat, though the growing crowd of happy diners soon brought the room to a more pleasant temperature. Service was excellent from the start. We were warmly greeted by the hostess, a supervisor, and our server, setting a tone of genuine care that never wavered. The pacing was near-perfect: attentive without hovering, with drinks refreshed proactively and plates cleared at just the right moments. To begin, I ordered the green chile beef stew. It arrived promptly, hot and deeply flavorful, with tender beef and that signature New Mexican green chile heat that lingers just enough to wake up the palate. For my birthday libation, the S'mores Old Fashioned was a delightful twist--smoky, sweet, and dangerously smooth. The entrées showed Char's Southwestern strengths. The enchiladas were deeply comforting, while the carne asada arrived perfectly grilled with robust flavor. Both were elevated by the bright, creamy Mexican Street Corn on the side--charred kernels, cotija, and a hint of lime that cut through the richness beautifully. We closed the evening with the new arroz con leche from the updated dessert menu. Warm, cinnamon-kissed rice pudding topped with a generous scoop of cinnamon ice cream proved to be the ideal sweet finale--comforting yet refined, with contrasting temperatures that made every bite exciting. From the thoughtful service to the consistent execution of both classics and new offerings, Char once again proved why it's a go-to spot for special occasions. If you're in Albuquerque and want elevated NM dining, Char meets the need.

If you want to be stolen from and harassed in the middle of your wedding this is the place to be!…read moreExtremely disrespectful how the bar manager handled some things. In the middle of our wedding, he told my coordinator that if we did not move our Photo Booth that he was going to have to get his Volkswagen van out of the venue which to do so that would involve us having to move tables, chairs, decorations and my guests out of his way. He was being very rude about it because we set up our Photo Booth in front of his van and then he said we owed him $100 to use his van as a prop, because we told him there no way we could move his van without disturbing my entire wedding. We were never once told this and if this was an issue, he should've moved the van out of the venue prior to our wedding being set up and STARTED! It was very rude. And then well in the middle of my wedding, my guess were being told they needed to move their cars. My aunt and uncle are very disabled and they were told they had to go park down the road at big five because they were parked in someone's parking spot, but it clearly was a disabled parking. Right before me and my husbands first dance I was told that I needed to move my vehicle, apparently it was parked in "the owners spot" I have been parked there since the night before and hadn't been told anything. There was NO SIGN that said owners parking.. and to wait till literally the MIDDLE OF MY WEDDING to ask me to move it is crazy. All of this could have been told to me prior to the wedding, it didn't even start till 3pm in the afternoon. At any point prior, I could've been told to move my vehicle, but I am a guest at the hotel so I don't know what the problem is. And Tob could've moved his van anytime he wished, but he waited. The next morning @8am my husband and family woke up to clean venue and pack up decor. We then realized $400 of my decor was stolen. This has left me distraught. I have repeatedly ask to see there cameras, and no one will respond to me. I let them know that if my property could not be recovered will have to file a police report with Santa Fe police for my property being stolen. In response they were extremely passive aggressive and said I was "bold" for accusing them of taking my property and that they would be "thrilled" to help me find it if it was in there property. I'm attached photos of my stuff stolen. When we arrived then morning all the pampas grass was taken from my arches and vases with pampas in it. I sent hours putting this together and about $400 on this decor and for this to be take on a day that is supposed to be so special is just disgusting and unprofessional. Not to mention they catered the food it was gross and the beds are hard as a rock. I'm also not saying the venue itself stole my decor but the staff themselves.. just seeing how Todd the bar manager behaved shows me the establishment does not mind disrespecting people. The place is gorgeous, but not worth this headache. The pictures are of the property I haven't been able to recover. (ALL OF MY PAMPAS GRASS) and emails.

Louie was easy to work with and glad that you came in town to visit. The setup Luxx has for parking is worth it. Tricky at first: you have to enter through the exit lane and then go out the pedestrian gate at the left. You'll see. Beds are comfortable. We loved the lavender infused essential oil soaps. Inside your room the decor reflects the brown and tan colors of the desert. The all-natural animal print was almost a bit too African (ever see a zebra in the New Mexican desert?) But hey, it works. The back patio is a great option for a gas fire and hot tub. The main common room has fantastic sky lighting and relaxing music. But you need to stay here for the location. We walked everywhere. Museums, shops, churches, restaurants, and the plaza are all a stone's throw away.

I was staying in this room alone, so I was a bit freaked out. When he (obviously) failed to enter my room, he went around the back and tried to enter through the window!!! My room was on the first floor, facing the backyard sitting area (where there are seats, fountains, a tub). The guest was probably drunk and forgot which room was his, but it was still scary to have him try to enter my room twice. I don't necessarily blame Luxx for this issue, but when I raised this at check-out the next day, the man at the counter laughed and said something along the lines that he'd have better luck next time. Wtf -- Even if we weren't in this period of #metoo and #imwithher, I never want the hotel employee to joke about my room being broken into. Another thing is that I booked the Luxx through Booking.com and was sent a reservation confirmation with the final price. When I checked my credit card, there was a discrepancy. It wasn't much, but still odd that they charged me more than they said they would. I tried calling, I left a couple of voicemails -- no response. Bottom-line: Find somewhere else to stay.

I did read the reviews but I will say we had a nice stay. As with anything search for best rate…read more Note this motel is within about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the plaza. Over the years before we retired to NM we stayed in a LOT of places in Santa Fe including La Fonda where we had a tiny room way in the back (they should have paid us). So to find a place close to all for a really good price including breakfast was nice surprise. Good they take dogs for a fee, good breakfast and nice area to walk your doggie. Easy walk to railyards and plaza. Next to Whole Foods although this is one of the worst of the chain I have ever been in. Needs major update. Not as good yes it's a motel, yes it's old, yes it needs some work. But if you want to be closer to the older areas it's a good pick vs the generic places on Cerrilos, other side of St Francis. I would and probably will stay again. I have a few suggestions I will send to management Also staff for the most part were super nice.

When we arrived to the property on our book-in date of May 21, 2026. We were told by the lady at the front desk that the hotel was over booked. Said that she tried to up grade our room and there are NO rooms available. Now, I was confused about how a person booking and RESERVING a room 17 or 18 days prior to the reservation just gets bumped off. The Sage Hotel didn't even try to accommodate us for their screw up. Didn't even help us in finding another hotel to put us in. So we ended up finding another hotel ourselves. We have never been treated like this when we come to Santa Fe, NM. Over all! The Sage Hotel is the place WE will NEVER stay at when we come to Santa Fe to do our business.
