I have moved quite a bit in my life in many states and have needed the use of storage facilities many times. Jacob has far surpassed expectations and it is obvious he is great at what he does. By the way, my furniture was in the same mint condition after a hot summer when I moved the furniture in and a brutal winter to follow. I was asked to have someone be there 30 minutes before the movers were scheduled to be there. I had queried whether to have the movers would like to utilize a basement bay or the front door. I was assured that the movers would prefer to utilize the front door. The movers had a 2 hour window and they never made it to the office in that time frame. They called 20 minutes after the window and said they would be there in 15 minutes. 45 minutes after the 2 hour window they called back saying that they were at the basement bay. I informed them that I was told that they would prefer the front door. It was not until 60 minutes after the 2 hour window that they made it to the office. It took them 15 minutes to move the truck from the back of the building to the front. They were pleasant enough. They moved the items to where they needed to go. I am not impressed that after all the communication there was time lost and more expense for us because of the lack of clarity between Mike and his movers. It cost me approximately $50 because of their lack of communication

Do NOT rent from this storage facility unless you are okay with being extorted and taken advantage…read moreof. This was my experience and also my partner who had a separate storage unit at the same facility and experienced the same scam. We both agreed to a certain price upon rental, and when signing the paperwork we also had to sign that we wouldn't take any legal action against Extra space storage (who is a partner company with Life Storage). That should have been a red flag right there. After 3 months of paying the agreed upon price of $99 they raised the price to $207 a month and said it was because of "Market Conditions" and they use the "Real-estate model" of gauging rent prices because they consider that renting a storage unit is similar to renting an apartment. When I asked a staff member if there were any specials or promotions or coupons he said sorry we don't have any promotions at this time, which was a stark contrast to the way that they bent over backwards when we were initially signing up for the rental over the phone to give us multiple promotions on the sign up day. They kept it at the $207 price until I moved out over a year later (due to not being able to physically move due to personal circumstances). It's really unfair to the staff since they seem to hire friendly and helpful people who handle customer service and have to deal with all of the people who are dissatisfied after they realize they've been scammed, and then the customer survey at the time of ending a rental space ask if staff were helpful, when the issue isn't the staff being helpful it's the policy of those in charge arbitrarily and without warning implementing massive rate hikes. Also, the heat was out on my climate controlled unit which I later found out maintenance was rescheduled 3 times to fix it and I didn't receive any notice, I had to ask the staff myself upon entering my storage unit building and ask why it was freezing inside. This is unacceptable! I hope all of my belongings are undamaged due to the extreme temperature fluctuation that was not reported to me. Stay far away from this company and their partner company Life Storage unless you enjoy spending and exorbitant amount on an empty space in a building. God bless you all!
