I thought they would be served chilled, but they fried them. They were very good though, lightly fried with a very good dipping sauce. We also split the jambalaya, which was a very generous portion. This place has great prices all around. It's got a nice dining vibe inside, dimly lit but lots of windows, it sits on a corner. We got shrimp and scallop Orleans, stuffed shrimp and blackened red fish. Everything was served hot and at the same time and all very good. We all got collard greens and they were excellent. My only minor beef is that the blacked fish wasn't very spicy. Still great though. Service was very good. Great spot and best prices I've seen anywhere.

I went with the lobster bisque and some hush puppies and both were pretty tasty! The soup was not quite as thick and creamy as I like my lobster bisque to be, but it was loaded with chunks of lobster and was tasty. The hush puppies were perfectly crispy outside and soft inside and hit the spot! The inside of the store is nice and has minimal seating, but there is also some seating outside as well. Tooling around a little bit, I found Northwest Seafood at the tail end of the Fresh Market stripmall, and figured it might be interesting. It was busy, but it wasn't pretentious, which is what I was looking for. A couple of tables setup outside for customers, and inside a bench or two for those waiting for their food. The place serves in two different ways... first, they are a fish market, and you can get a large variety of different seafoods there. Prices aren't bad, certainly better than other shops in the same area, and a lot more variety as well. Inside, I went through the menu that they have. They are a counter service as well as the fish market, and you can get a number of different items cooked up right there to eat. I went for a cod sandwich and fries, which was the closest thing they had to fish and chips. The wait was nominal, as they had to fry up the food and get the fries together. Staff were pleasant, despite the apparent rush, and I got my food in short order. Eating it was a good time. The sandwich was excellent. The fries... they were good initially, but they don't really hold up over time. Not a big deal if you are sitting there and eating them immediately, though. Definitely worth the stop, and I will be back.

The chicken was disturbingly small Chicken- butchered thin( less than 1/2 breast portion) The chicken not breaded, breast filet sliced served on an oversized bun, which belittles the poor chicken. When complained another breast sandwich was sent right away, but was not cooked. How can you send out RAW chicken! Chef ramsey would be infuriated! also portioned smaller than bread and full of gristle. Un- edible. Made due with over-cooked first order to appease my appetite, and not to complain a thirtd time. but both a sad looking chicken choice for the $10.99 price tag. However, our Waitress tried to compensate for the cooks poor or lack of skill: by only charging the price of the french fries. For a day of just taking a drive and finding this restaurant on the water, he view was gorgeous on the suwanee. Lovely day, nice weather and many airboats and finshing along the banks, the food I would skip. (At least the chicken) however my friend who ordered the blackened fish sandwich also a small portion of fish, but was pleased with the flavor and cook. So it may be a hit or miss type of place. The one star review is on the chicken sandwich. I guess the saying goes don't order something land when at a seafood restaurant.

The parking lot can get a little hectic, especially during busy hours, but once I got inside everything moved quickly. The service was fast and I really appreciated that everything is fried fresh to order, you can taste the difference. I got the wings and shrimp combo and added hush puppies. The wing batter was amazing: not greasy, perfectly seasoned, and honestly better than Popeyes or even KFC. A lot of places give you more batter than chicken, but here the chicken was moist and a good portion. The hush puppies were also surprisingly moist and flavorful, some of the best I've had since they're usually dry elsewhere. My find and I split the order and since we eat small portion we think that was a good portion for us and also had leftovers. Everything was so good I didn't even need sauce, and I'm a sauce girl through and through. Overall, great experience and I'd definitely come back when I'm craving something fresh, crispy, and satisfying.

As you sit in the Restaurant or in the outdoor seating area, you have a great view of the beautiful historic Suwannee River. The Service is quite good and friendly. I had a cup of the Crab Bisque before my meal arrived. The owner makes it fresh daily. The waitress said they often run out of it. I ordered the Palm Salad , unfortunately it was already gone. With Cole Slaw. She enjoyed it very much. . On their Website they guarantee that you will not leave hungry. That was true. We had enough leftover food to bring home enough for another meal. For Desert we decided to share the Brownie Sunday. In many restaurants desserts are served up in skimpy portions, not at Treasure Camp. The portion was so large that we both ate plenty of it and brought home enough to finish off another meal. If you enjoy a rich decadent gooey brownie with a generous portion of vanilla bean ice cream, this will be the dessert for you. They also had Key Lime Pie, sizzling Apple Pie and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. Treasure Camp Restaurant is well off the beaten path, but the food makes the drive worthwhile. If you have a boat you can also arrive that way. There are some cabins, but we did not look at them . A boat ramp is adjacent to the Restaurant and Store. After your meal you can stroll along their dock. This Restaurant has a Chiefland address, but is well outside the town. We drive from Dunnellon about an hour away, we were told that they have frequent diners who come from Crystal River and Homosassa Springs which is even further. Most people would not make this trip unless the food made it all worthwhile. We would definitely make the drive back here again!

So my wife and I drove from Deland to Treasure Cap; almost 3 hours. When we arrived, outside looked great, like the photos. We seated ourselves. Nice open restaurant, comfy cushioned chairs. Our waitress took our order: crabmeat stuff mushrooms, crab bisque, I ordered the blackened scallops with a side of potato salad and onion rings. My wife order the grouper with side of coleslaw and fried okra. She also asked for a water with lemon and I ordered a root beer. We got drinks and my said the water tasted bad. Then we got the appetizer of 6 small crabmeat stuff mushrooms. One bite and they tasted like they were bought at Costco or someplace pre-made. Didn't taste homemade. Crab bisque tasted more fishy then crab. Entrees arrived. My wife liked her grouper. My blackened scallops were the size of small fingernails! I never had scallops so small and they tasted rubbery. The potato salad and onion rings tasted store bought. Actually I don't think anything was homemade. Sad. Major disappointment since we were so excited about this place and drove almost 3 hours. Live and learn. Never again.
