I've gone to the other side of town and have found that I've been paying way too much for my mani-pedi experience. They do a great job, can match up shellac with a polish for your toes and have a two week guarantee on the shellac nails! They do have happy hour where it's a little less expensive to get things done, but I'm not sure when that exactly is. I went on a Monday around 1:30 so I'm thinking it's daytime hours. I could have had a little more pressure in my actual massage and yes, should have spoken up, but the star I took away was because you get no hand and arm massage when you get a shellac manicure. I come here pretty regularly and I have never once had a bad experience or technician! I usually come for a pedi and this is one of the few places I trust getting shellac. They know their stuff! They have TONS of color options and spend a good time editing your cuticle as that's how a shellac is supposed to be. Kim is always a good person to request, but again- I've had many different techs and they were all amazing! The staff is very friendly. They offer water, red wine or white wine. Pricing is pretty fair, around $60 for pedi and shellac. But the quality is what you're really coming here for! read more

The person that was doing my nails was in a rush. I'm not sure why as there were numerous walk-ins but regardless a good job is a good job. This is why I get so irritated with nail salons that are so money hungry. It's always quantity vs quality. I had to tell him to file my thumb nail down as it was clearly longer. He did not do a check to see if all my nails are aligned. Picture shows a smudge on the thumb nail and touchy spots on my nails. I didn't want a redo as I was limited on time. I have been a regular here for many years. I'm very disappointed that all the old staff has left one by one after new owners took over a year or more ago. Some of the new people speak little to no English. I was trying to tell my technician that his long nail was digging into my skin and someone else had to translate. I'm sure they do a good job....it's just not the same without the old characters that used to work here. They were truly a part of the strip neighborhood. Kathy is the best manicurist that I have found in Dallas! She did a fantastic job on my powder manicure and I will definitely be back to see her again. She checked and double checked that all of my nails matched in both length and shape. The color selection for the dipping powder was astounding. I didn't feel rushed during my appointment and Kathy stopped several times to make sure that my nails were looking the way I wanted them to. The salon was great too and in an easy to find location. This was my second pedicure now. The shop was busy when I walked in but they found someone available for me ASAP. In the gayborhood it was a very mixed crowd there today. I sat across from the 3 bears an in between the business lady and another gentleman. I was greeted with a list of complimentary drinks and chose the strawberry piña colada. It was ok, but just the fact that they offered a free drink (wine and beer also). The young lady who took care of me didn't seem to be in the best mood but I wasn't up for chit chat anyway. She did a pretty good job. The reality is... You are working a strangers feet. Luckily mine were done 3 weeks ago so they were in pretty good shape. I would go back again. I came here to get my nails done for my birthday which is tomorrow. I saw on their website that they had a $30 coupon for Nexgen colored nails. I asked my nail tech "before we start, are you able to honor this coupon?" He told me yes, and we got started. I showed him two photos, one for color and one for shape. I got to choose my own color, and I ended up leaning towards a light baby pink that's so light it's almost neutral! My nails are a great color, but the length and shape is absolutely horrible. I pleaded with him to make my nail more narrow towards the top-- I wanted them to look as natural as possible. I did not get that. After 3 times of saying narrower narrower narrower and feeling like I was getting no where with my request, I just let him finish so that I could go. As I walked to the front to pay I showed my $30 coupon a second time. They then told me that it would actually be $35, since I got a tip on my nails. At that point I was so frustrated and almost in tears at how my nails looked and at the fact that they didn't honor the coupon that they told me they would, no amount of free wine makes up for this. I am flying out to Vegas tomorrow morning and I'll be leaving with horrible nails. Not happy! read more

Jan and Ken are really nice. My friend and I went in earlier today to get mani-pedis. The quality of service is great and the free drinks are a definite perk. It's so nice to be able to go in outside of rush hour. The staff is friendly and we had a great time. Definitely a place I will go back to when it's time again! 4/5 because 1) the colors aren't organized so there's no spectrum to follow. 2) there was no music -- a TV was playing on mute instead. I got the nail dip done. I picked a white color with a lot of glitter/shimmer. Jason used the tools AFTER applying the dip and filed off all of the glitter. It's just plain white now. As a birthday present to myself, I decided to get a spa package. I found this place with great reviews and reasonable prices. I booked my appointment conveniently through text. I was early, so they let me wait in a massage chair. Nice! Min-Min (I hope I spelled her name right) gave me a wonderful pedicure as we chatted about the holidays and our families. Did I mention the glass of wine? Then the first part of my manicure started. He sanded my nails (which was a little painful and I'm now bleeding a bit), glued fake nail tips, and laid what looked like white cement. Next, I had my first massage. Rocky start; I didn't know what to do and she came in while I stood there clueless and nearly naked. But she was polite and helped me out. She asked if I had problem areas that needed attention, and if the pressure was too heavy or light. Towards the end, Kathy came in to paint my nails. That made it really hard to get dressed. I smudged my new nails before getting out the door. Thrice. But Min-Min was very nice and repainted my nails. She even got out my credit card and keys and opened my car door! I was really impressed with the service I received from my nail technician. He was really nice, attentive, and eager to please me. Also, the drink service is amazing. However, the gentleman at the front desk was abrupt and rude. After, I decided against my first color, I wanted to try another color. I'm giving them two stars because I was so disappointed in the quality of their service. I went in today over my lunch break for a simple manicure (not gel, just regular polish). Their site says it should take 25 minutes, I was in there for over an hour. It seemed like it was my manicurists first time doing a manicure and he definitely needed more practice. There is polish all over the skin around my fingers. If I would have had time, I would have asked for a "redo" but I had to get back to work. I don't think I will give them another chance since I think I asked for what I think is the most basic service and they didn't get it right. While they look good and the process was pretty painless, I wish they were a little fuller. He gave me the colors for dip, I requested the gel colors about 3 times after they kept giving me the colors for dip. After I chose my GEL color, the bail technician came back with a powder for dip! I had to remind him once again that i wanted gel! I requested my nails to be cut short and round and I ended up leaving with long square nails, only because I was already frustrated with repeating myself so many times. Tony did my pedicure and it was awful! There's still nail polish on the tip of my toe(skin not nail) he didn't not do anything to my cuticles nor file them. Booked an appointment with Jumong at 1 for dip and Peter at 2 for pedicure. Jumong said he was running late and to come back at 1:30. It was Saturday and I said ok and went next door for a drink. I came back and they said to get my pedicure first. Fine... Jumong was still working on the same guy. He decided to take a guy and massage, pedicure and manicure. All when he say my appointment. Later Kathy said my appointment was erased when Peter confirmed it was there. I have been coming to Jumong and Peter for around a year but I will never come again after this. The one thing that i love is that if you get a mani/pedi, they do it at the same time (so great because it saves time!). I got a french mani/pedi and tried the dip instead of the gel this time.
