Now that I've been two times, I'm going to give this place 5 stars. Under new management this current team gets it! They are fast and oh man can they do designs and trend so very well! It's been hard to to find a place that can do my nails with excellence and consistency and in trend! So far The Nail Story delivers. I've went to Vi and B and both are really great! They work fast and meticulously. They are kind and as conversational as you want them to be. They understand the power of social Media and respond quickly to appt request via instagram. Overall they are clean. Since they've inherited a lot of the shops equipment some of it like the chairs look pretty rundown but they are still comfortable. I hate leaving bad reviews, although I am furious for paying so much money then coming home feeling disrespected and unsatisfied with the work. The first time I came to this salon, I loved my nails. When I came back for a fill two weeks later, the owner demanded that I get a new set of acrylic nails because my natural nail underneath grew and was visible. I refused to pay $65 for a full set plus $20 for removal so I went to a different salon for a fill. When I was finally ready for a new set, I went back to the same technician and she disregarded my request to have thin, natural acrylic, created a mismatched shape and the nail polish was so old that it looked nothing like book sample. I called the salon 5 minutes after I left and asked for it to be redone. My nails looked horrible in natural light. The owner tried bullying me again and blamed me for being picky then said I could never come back to the salon. The whole experience was rather traumatizing and I spent $85. Ladies, there are better salons. The owner is quite stuck up and cruel. I will take my business elsewhere. read more

i had a nail chip two days after getting shellac on it and when i went to fix it the lady would paint a coat, sit on her phone for two minutes plus minutes, then repeat. it was super disrespectful. the paint on almost all of my nails are so thin you'd think we were in the 2008 recession or something the way they gatekeep a third coat of shellac. also the vibes are really off in here read more

Reading the below reviews were very sad and confusing. I've had nothing but phenomenal service here. They make a great suggestions and they really do listen to what you want. They are so friendly and kind, they take their time to make sure you get what you want and it's to your satisfaction. A friend and I came here after deciding to try a different nail salon than our usual place. Bad idea. My friend got a gel manicure, and I got a gel manicure/pedicure. A couple weeks later we both agreed that our fingernails were in the worst shape they'd ever been in after getting a gel from any salon. The girls here buffed our nails WAY too thin, to the point that they were breaking, chipping and peeling within the first week after our service. Additionally, instead of carefully cutting a hangnail on one of my big toes during my pedicure, the girl working on me SLOWLY PEELED IT BACK TOWARD THE CUTICLE before cutting it! What kind of barbaric treatment is that?! It was bleeding and stinging in the water, and was swollen and VERY painful for several days after. Needless to say, we will not be returning. read more

I know a lot of people like The Nail Story at the center of town but I did not have a great experience. Made an appointment but waited 30 mins with my feet in water for someone to do my feet. My wife got an infection because the tech cut her and had to do her gel manicure over multiple times. The massage chairs were very old and not very relaxing. Sorry won't be coming back. read more

I went back today and B did my nails again and she did a phenomenal job. She made all of them the same length. I told her to do a design and do whatever she wanted and she did a great job. I took my granddaughter for a regular pedicure. Tech gave her gel which ended up costing additional $10. I was not asked if gel and additional cost was ok. Also.....big floor sign stating 20% off. When i asked for discount.....Turns out had expired although still posted. She did give me 10% off for Mothers Day. Finally...site not appealing...looked dated and tired Not sure if I will try again. read more

they were great when they opened over the summer but downhill since then. one time, the gel on my mani pedi bubbled within a half hour of leaving. they offered me $5 for next time, honestly it was insulting. i still went back a few more times because they were so nice but today, they had me wait an hour for my appointment and were rude to me when i asked how much longer it would be. then they didn't give me the spa pedicure i booked, they rushed through the classic. then she added chrome without telling me it would be more. every time i've gone for the same services and the prices just keep changing - it's like they do all these add ons and don't tell you till it's too late. moral of the story is the owner, Dee, is rude and they make up prices and charge you for all these random add ons you didn't ask for. stay away. read more
