Love this gem located in old Powell. There's only one hair station,Courtney, and two nail technicians, Kayla and Julia. I enjoy the intimate setting. It reminds me of the beauty shop vibe where everyone talks and shares in the conversation. Update: a month or so ago I went back. It is still very clean and calm atmosphere. However, the person who did my nails kept pulling when doing the cuticles. It felt uncomfortable and left many tears especially the next few days. Every other person was better when they did my nails. So it may have just been a random thing. Great experience. Two sweet sisters run this shop. Cute decor in a relaxing and charming environment. One of the cleanest nail spots I've experienced. They use liners in their tubs, new buffers, files and pumice for each client. They use high level auto clave machine to clean their tools. They use Orly which is free from the 12 worst chemicals in nail polishes. The polish is still great and long lasting. Only thing I'd do is ask a bit stronger and longer of a foot massage. The Natural Nail Spa is tucked away and off the main road in downtown Powell. There was plenty of parking and easily accessible. The environment is very welcoming and the staff all were friendly. Went back today to see if round two would yield a better result. I am happy to report it was much better! After the first experience I called ahead to see if there was any chance I could get in for a quick pedi. Thankfully they were able to take me in right away. It was very quiet and I was the only client while I was there. Julia was my technician, she was great! It was a lovely peaceful manicure. She did a wonderful job and really took her time. She was very gentle and even confirmed that I still liked the color I chose, which I thought was very considerate. Julia did not feel pressured to make small talk, which was a welcome relief from other places. (Sometimes a girl just wants to chill.) This place is quiet, clean and professional. It is a bit out of my way. However, it came highly recommended and I saw a pamphlet at my podiatrist. I had a bad experience at a nail salon while living in Miami, so I was a bit gun shy to get a pedicure when I moved to Columbus. That fear is gone now that I found The Natural Nail Spa. I felt comfortable and the place is incredibly clean. Each pedicure foot bath basin has a liner that is disposed of after each use. Also, tools are only used on one customer. You can have the option to take the file and scrubber with you and the technician will place in a sealed bag for you. All non disposable tools are scrubbed, sanitized and sterilized. Cost may be a bit higher, but well worth it. I didn't feel rushed, nor did I feel like they were trying to squeeze several clients in for the day. I tried The Natural Nail Spa or the first time right before the holidays. I called to make an appointment and got right in. I liked and appreciate the text the salon send out to confirm the appointment, and it lets you know the name of the person who will be providing the service. The salon is very close to my home, and I have been looking for a good nail place since I just moved to the area a months ago. The nail salon is small but very nice. Julie M. did my gel manicure. The other staff there that day was the salon owner and her sister works there too. Both women were very nice. Julie M. Did such a fantastic job!! I am SO happy with my nails. Julie did them perfectly and they are still looking great after a week and a half. I will most definitely be returning! Last Wednesday I went to Natural Nail Spa for a gel manicure. Cost @ $36 with tip. I was excited I was leaving for vacation on Thursday. Sitting on the plane Thursday morning, I noticed one of my nails was chipped! I was disappointed. I thought I will call the salon on Friday and see when they could fix the nail. On Friday morning when I got up another nail was chipped, now I am annoyed. Day one of vacation starts with not one but two chipped nails. I called the salon to see when they could fix my nails after I got back. This is what I heard from the owner. "You must have had your hand in the light wrong" and "it must be your nails" I have had many a gel manicure and was trying this place from a friends recommendation. Never ever have I had a gel manicure chip!!! I expected to hear I'm sorry that happened when can you come in to have them fixed? But no the owner just wanted to blame me and argue with me. I would have been a happy customer had I heard the "I'm sorry that happened when can you come have them fixed! It would have taken maybe 10 Min to fix the nails and have a happy return customer but not now. What a waste of money, I will have to find another salon to fix my nails! I'm sure they will be friendlier! Stay away!!! read more

This is my second time having a gel manicure and I must say, once again disappointed. It hasn't even been a week (3 days) and my gel polished has chipped on two fingers, Wtf!? Gel is suppose to last for at least 2 weeks. This salon sucks and the girl who did my nails does too. When I first arrived it was not busy but then two others came in and I feel like she began to rush. She didn't even SOAK my nails which was part of the manicure but OK... The other staff lady asked if she needed to heat up the water again for me and she said "No it's ok." And gave her a look. What a ..... I know I will never return to the natural nail spa ever again. Cons: Although I had scheduled the $40 student discount pedi/mani, and I was the only person in the shop, I was given an elaborate treatment that took an hour and a half, cost $60 base fee, and still left my nail edges jagged and nail polish a bit lopsided. I'd give them more stars if I could! The salon is beautiful. The decor is gorgeous and provides the perfect background for tranquility. I decided to take our 3 1/2 year old to have her first mani/pedi as a treat for being such a good (new) big sister. She did so well for the pedicure, but started feeling woozy while getting our manicures. I'm not sure if it was too many snacks that I fed her in between, or if she got too warm. Despite the fact that she needed to step outside a few times for some fresh air, Kahla and Julia couldn't have been more patient and kind! Julia kept taking her outside, offering her a drink, and asking her if she was ok. She even walked her around the salon while Kahla finished my nails. I barely noticed how lovely our nails/toes looked until after we left because I was so worried about my daughter. YOU NEED TO TRY THIS SALON! I grew up in Ohio but recently moved to Chicago. This past weekend I was out with my mom and we decided we wanted to treat ourselves to a mother-daughter spa day. Since this was last minute we tried to go to another salon first. However, since it was Saturday they didn't have any walk-in times available. I did a quick google search and The Natural Nail Spa popped up. Learning from our mistake I called and asked if they had any times available. They did, and we made an appointment. To make sure you get the attention you deserve I would make an appointment. It is not like the other salons around the area and what I am used to in Chicago where all the technicians want to do is get you in and out. Here, these ladies take the time to provide you with a healthy, serene, and relaxing experience. If you need something quick, go some place else. When we arrived, they knew exactly who we were and offered us cold bottled water. We only had to wait a few minutes while the prepped the pedicure chairs. Our experience with the staff was great. Everyone interacted with each other like family. The lotions and sugar scrubs are made by them, and the nail polishes are the healthiest. They also don't do acrylic nails, so the air is much cleaner. It's a great place, and my mom and I will be back. Seriously, I will drive the six hours to get my nails done here! read more

Yesterday was my first time in and I was very pleased with the experience. The salon is very clean an does not have that typical chemical smell of other nail salons. There were two technicians and two customers in the whole space, so it was very quiet and relaxed. One of the owners Kahla did my pedicure. She was so friendly and kind. I loved the girls working there but it was a bizarre manicure. Never saw any water, to soak my nails. Underneath my nails wasn't ever cleaned. Just clipped and polished? And then the chipping started 3 days in. So disappointed. Now I have to drag my 2 girls with me this week to get them redone. I'm shocked to see all the one star reviews! I've been getting my gels done here by appointment for almost two years and I've been very satisfied! Of course every now and again one chips but I've called in a reasonable amount of time and they have always offered an apology and that I come back to have it fixed. And gels don't last "at least" two weeks; They last "usually" two weeks if you're not a brute with your hands. I've had mine last for three weeks before so I can't see complaining when a chip happens once in a blue moon. I like this place so much I brought all my bridesmaids and mom here for mani/pedi service the day before my wedding! No complaints from any of them! And I have to mention how clean it is. In two years of coming here I've never had an issue and I always love having fresh cut citrus and home made lotions used for my pedicures!! read more

I'm happy with the salon and the services I received. I went for the first time because I had a coupon for a "quick" pedi and gel manicure. There is nothing quick about their pedi...I got the most *perfect* french pedi I've ever had, and it lasted a really long time. Its been about 4 weeks and it still looks great! **they do not have the massage chairs and giant soaking sinks like the salons you have probably been to in the past. I find this refreshing. They have a classy little seating area.** So I hardly ever get manis, so maybe this is typical...they don't soak your nails, at least for the gel mani. I think if your nails become soft from soaking, the gel won't adhere, but that's just a guess. Anyway, I really am happy with them because of this: my gels didn't last very long. Just bear with me here and keep reading... 4 nails had chipped after 3 days because I use my nails as tools. So I called, they were SO NICE about it. They didn't just fix the chipped nails, they gave me an entire re-do for free. Her recommendation was that we cut my nails a little shorter and she was exactly right, my next set of gels lasted almost 2 weeks. I had to take my two young sons in for the fix and the staff were so kind to them! The boys loved all the colors, the peaceful vibe, the excellent atmosphere. While the boys waited, the staff even painted their thumb nails, base coat and all. I'm delighted with them and will definitely go there again! read more

I happened upon The Natural Nail Spa by accident one day when my usual salon was too busy to fit me in and I have been going back ever since! The technicians who work there have always been very friendly and provided excellent services. They take cleanliness very seriously and it is one of the cleanest salons I've ever been to. Walked in to get a polish with my 2yr old(her first time). She has cystic fibrosis so I wanted to go here since they don't do acrylic and I didn't want her around all the fumes. We walked in and the woman who talked to us was extremely rude. She started with a "can I help you?" In a very rude tone. I said we would just like to get a polish. She kind of talk to me like I was dumb because she couldn't figure out if I wanted to buy a nail polish or get my nails painted. She then said "well we don't have any openings right now". In a turn of events my husband booked a surprise birthday mani-pedi for me. I'm glad he did (thus making this the third time I've been here) as my experience was much better. Julia was my technician and is truly a diamond in the ruff. She was sweet, professional, friendly, and a good nail tech. Everything was going great until the (who I believe is) the owner called me out for my past Yelp reviews, and admitted she was surprised I came back as Julia was literally still painting my nails... I told her that it was my husband who made the appointment but I was glad he did because this experience was much more pleasant. She apologized for my past experiences. She closed my tab before I was able to give Julia a good tip (before Julia was even done with my nails!)...
