This was discussed and agreed upon between my mother and the company before the actual test was supposed to be scheduled. The request had gone unanswered as the company kept making excuses as to why a taste test could not be completed during the time frame we had asked. My mother decided to sign the contract to let the company know she was serious about utilizing the company. She thought that was the reason for the lack in response. Unfortunately, this made the company IMMEDIATELY start to answer and we received a sample of food to taste. The food was not the best, in our opinion. We had sampled baked beans, macaroni and cheese, brown stewed chicken, string beans and potato salad which appeared and tasted like they lacked the consistency of those said items and lacked flavor. These items were not even the items requested to sample which is why we were also confused on the sample given. We discovered this sample was only given to us because the company was catering at an event the same day and had food left over to provide. This means, there was a chance we were not going to ever get a sample of what was requested before my baby shower. When we discussed our dissatisfaction and asked for a refund, we were directed to review the non-refundable contract with little to no conversation about our dislike. We then asked for half of the deposit as we believed that was fair for any company we were not satisfied with and would not proceed with using. We understood business is business and they would miss out on money for the business if they had to compromise with our request. However, we were ignored. I am grateful my family and I had not only the financial means but the ability to still utilize another company for what we want. However, It makes THIS business look bad as they were not okay with taking constructive criticism about the food that was presented to us. As we were very fair in our review. I am sure the company could be a good company to utilize for catering but they were not for my family and I. It appears this is company is willing to charge a high amount to cater an event but in the event you do not like however they make their food, they write you off.
