I love the food and smoothies from here. Sebastopol staff are super friendly, Healdsburg staff is hit or miss. Owner is super nice.

I was so excited to find açaí bowls in Sebastopol but this place was such a disappointment. The employees took a good 5 minutes to even say hello when we walked in, despite being the only customers there. They could not have moved slower or seemed more bored/disinterested. I noticed that they were not wearing gloves, handling ingredients with their bare hands and then handling credit cards, the iPad, touching their faces, etc and then going back to preparing food. Really gross and unsanitary. When we finally got our bowls a good 20 minutes later, despite being the only customers there, they were so bad that we took a few bites and threw them away. I've never tasted such bland, icy tasting açaí. The whole experience was such a disappointment and I can't believe I wasted $25 on something that was basically inedible. read more

Pretty ok smoothie but we had to wait 30 minutes for two smoothies. Anywhere else would've been 10. Tastes kinda weird like perfume but not like flowers if that makes sense. Customer service was good everyone was nice. Probably won't come here again. read more

The vegan foods and service were excellent, very healthy and well priced. I am discounting my rating due to the false information I was given over the phone, however. I asked whether this was an all vegan restaurant and was told yes. When I arrived, there was a placard saying they had "local bone broth" for sale. For an ethical vegan, this is disturbing and discriminatory. Please be clear with people who call you and check before coming, because we do not want to support businesses that profit from the suffering of animals. read more

I highly recommend you go to the juice place on Cleveland Avenue, this place has the worst service! One person working, could not have moved any slower, was rude, and when I asked for a refund they told me to calm down. A second clerk came in and failed to make my drink and then was yelling at me to calm down when I was talking completely calm. It was over 30 minutes waiting for a coffee drink, and five people after me got theirs first. The girl then decided to' wash dishes as we are all waiting and again could not have moved any slower. Ok, ok so I had my hopes up about this place and don't get me wrong - it's a pretty sweet place BUT you don't get a second chance at making a first impression and damn we came in here for the first time very excited to finally check it out...and no one greeted us, there was some chatter going on between the staff(?) - it was very clear 2 girls were behind the counter working and then a 3rd sitting in the middle of bar with text book and phone out. Anyway, so we just start looking around, checking out all the things - merchandise on the shelves and in the fridge. Maybe someone then noticed us and gave us some direction as we were maybe looking around for a menu - and showed us where they were - folded next to register - not easy to spot on any wall space. She pointed out there was a separate warm drink menu. We decided to get the chocolate one and paid for it right then and there when we ordered it. Some other people came in and I noticed the same behaviors of both the staff and somewhat confused customers. The one girl studying went back behind the counter to ring up other customers. She asked what we ordered (so she could ring us up) but we explained that we already paid. In all honesty, it was quite awkward. The three of them interacted like we (and no one else -- the other customers) existed. And the one chose to sit right in the middle not giving two stools to sit on one end and making the other customers cram into corner. I was quite shocked. I mean, I could better understand if she was a customer but it was clear she wasn't. And then in their rules they mention not using phones...when she had hers out and open. I asked about ordering a flight of juices and the girl I asked didn't have a clue what I asked and then pointed to the sign that mentions flights. Which didn't help much, she didn't tell me much more. Was curious about how it works exactly, pricing, etc. Oh well. And then another girl asked us if we'd been rung up. Yep, three times, all three of them were on it. No system down there, really. When our drink was ready we grabbed it and got out. Whew. I want to come back here and I want to like it. Kind of the worst. I hate writing bad reviews but have tried to like this place over and over again. They have a good idea with terrible execution. The smoothies are either warm or if you ask for cold they put a ton of ice in to water it down. They are consistently out of tons of items and the poor staff (who seems well intentioned but young and not informed) never seems to know what's going on. I feel for them. I will drop $$ for a good juice or smoothie but this place is not only on the more expensive side it 100% has never delivered in any way. I've always ended up so bummed. read more

So it's a new year and you want to do the juice thing- either for weight loss or for "cleansing" but if this is the case, the Nectary is a great place to get started. It's not cheap- I ain't gonna lie. With bottle deposit, a lot of juices are going to run you in the $7-$9 range. But, it is all organic, wonderful ingredients and worth every penny. A few months back I was starting to get a nasty cold that was going around the office. I went and got a juice of carrot, beet, ginger and turmeric and I kid you not when I say that cold was knocked out by the next day. I started to get another cold recently and tried again with not AS great of results but I did feel better after drinking the juice. My son loves their kombucha and I've loved every juice I've gotten there. At any given moment there's usually one or two of their returnable/reusable bottles rolling around in the back of my car. Had my first taste of some of the finest juice concoctions ever! These are not Jamba Juice smoothies. These juices are loving blended and offered by a local woman who really studies and knows her ingredients. I intend on making future trips over from Santa Rosa just to try everything on the menu. Upon finding The Nectary I was super excited to try it. I have been here twice. The first time only one blender was working, so everything was taking 20-30 minutes to be ready. Second time there was only one worker as she let us know her co-worker had called out. She tried her best and items were taking 20-30 minutes. Finally when someone did show up, we were told they didn't have the ingredients for one of the drinks we ordered. I've tried the drinks and smoothie bowls. Good smoothy - but very poor customer service, thus the reason for the poor rating. Waitress was by herself, place was not busy at all. We were the only ones in line, and only one table had 2 people seated at it, other tables were cleaned, so it is not like she had a mad rush by herself. It literally took 5 minutes for her to show up to the cash register to take our order. Mind you the place is not that big, and she never said - I will be right with you nothing, to indicate she saw us. Nothing of hi how are you, just what do you want to order and we are out of this and out of that.Then she went to the back area and stood around there for a 3-4 minutes (possibly on her phone), came back and took 2 more orders. then slowly worked on our order, slapped the drink on the counter, then we had to ask if that was our drink - with a yes attitude she responded. We ordered a smoothy asked if they had a straw, we are outta straws (again with attitude). This person definitely was having a bad day or did not want to work there. Pricey but nothing beyond the usual juicery prices. Tried the Electro Light which is on the green and tart side. If you're in the mood for something sweeter I would recommend something else. All the juices come in a glass bottle which includes a $1 deposit. I believe you can return the bottle and get the deposit back. The staff were pretty helpful and willing to give different recommendations based on what you're in the mood for. Plenty of juices and freshly made smoothies as well as various raw foods to pick from. this place was suggested to me, when I confirmed to them, I have this wallet draining obession with Whole Foods in-house fresh juices. I was about to damn this person to hell for exposing me to what appears to be another wallet crunching level of fresh pressed juices. I have been 3 times and so far the results have been mixed. Ok, to be fair, I am easily confused. What I do believe i know about fruits and juice which has gone old, is there is a certain sourness or tart when it goes bad, I had got that taste on the first time I went here a picked up a couple of bottles of some elixir with a very fancy name. ...the second time, I came here, got another kind, but same thing, but realized it had cayenne pepper in it, which could explain...OK, third time,, which was this past Saturday May 30th. Picked up 2 more of the pre-made teas, and after finishing one, saw on the bottom of the bottle, "best by May 22". I do quite like some of their smoothie flavors. Matcha Made in Heaven is my favorite, I have the Empowermint but it wasn't as flavorful as I was hoping (but I guess I'm used to drinking mint chip milkshakes haha). It's lovely but expensive so I only go on special occasions. The smoothie is actually filling so I feel like that sometimes makes the price worth it. My only harsher critique is that sometimes the staff could be more attentive. It's very lax and once they forgot my order and only remembered it after I had almost grabbed someone else's drink thinking it was mine. I had already been waiting like 10 minutes. I've worked in stressful customer/food service environments like that and it's hard but ya gotta be a lil snappy. All in all a tasty treat and chill experience when I'm up for it. read more

I live in Marin County which has a Urban Remedy , however I lived in Sonoma County for years and still make the drive out there if I want something truly delicious while enjoying a more relaxed atmosphere. My first time here was last Friday. I pre ordered a three day juice cleanse, (which I haven't picked up yet ...) and while I was there, I picked up for random bottles of juice and one extremely delicious strawberry thing (I don't even know if it was a bottled smoothie or keifer, don't matter, don't care -it was AMAZING whatever it was) I enjoyed every single bottle I tried out. Lavender Vanilla -delicious Watermelon -refreshing Lemon/turmeric /lime....very good also. The Hot Shots were hot.... so those were also delicious Cannot wait to pick up my cleanse. Anyone complaining of price doesn't understand the time and effort put into this place. Everything is thoughtfully made. Consciously for your health and enjoyment, are you not worth it? I've been to the Nectary so many times in the past few years and I always kept giving it a chance although I never knew in advance whether it would be a hit or a miss. I usually get a hot drink and sometimes it's delicious, but here and there the homemade mylk doesn't taste very fresh or the wait is very long. Lately it's been more of a miss, with asking for a hot drink during my last visit, and the barista taking a notebook, looking at her notes to finally let me know that she "forgot" how to do that drink and can I wait for her colleague who will be right back. I wait 10 minutes until the colleague gets back and that is when she lets me know that the steamer is not on and may take up to 30 minutes to start. At that point, I just asked to be reimbursed and left. I've decided I won't be back. That place had a lot of potential but needs to invest in retaining its staff (I don't think I have seen the same staff lasting more than a few weeks) and maintaining the quality of its services and products. read more

Such things aren't cheap. Nor is the Barlow, nor SoCo . I worked in a smoothie shop for 6 years, so I am particular and definitely have expectations; and I use to love this spot in both locations, because even tho it's pricy it's quality. Although, since the pandemic I've been charged a different price everytime- for the same drink I chose- the rose saffron. I understand additions may be more, but an extra fruit and supplement leaving me at $15 is sorta ridiculous- but I still wouldn't mind paying that if it was #1 made right, and #2 that price everytime. Once it was $10, then $12 then $15. And both last time and my current experience- they forgot the extra fruit I paid for and then mix it in last minute with no special care to the dried flowers or presentation that's also part of the price. I try my best to support local, especially during these times- but my pocket book is hurting too and I won't be back to give any more money to a spot that's inconsistent, over priced and lacks a warm attitude.
