As a nutritionist, I was super excited when I found out about this place, but was really disappointed when I finally went. I ordered my super expensive green juice ($10!) and I was then directed to grab it out of the fridge. What's the point of a juice bar if it's not made fresh?!! Juice oxidizes and loses enzymes and nutrition when it's not drank within the first 20 minutes after being freshly pressed. I also asked the shop attendant if they were all made that day and she said yes. Then when I looked at the stickers on the bottles of the variety I wanted, they had different sell-by dates so they obviously weren't all made that day. I really expected so much more from the Nectary :( read more

My husband and I were here on a really nice warm week-day afternoon. It took us awhile to figure out what we wanted but the juice barista was really patient. Loved the wheat grass and the smoothies. For those of you complaining about prices you need to think about the whole picture, organic products, location and their juicer is awesome and actually extracts the juice more efficiently and healthfully. Our juice barista was really nice and friendly and answered all of our questions and welcoming which made our experience even more appealing. I really liked the art on the back wall as well. So when in Sebastopol and I have time, I'll be stopping there as often as I can. Like I said it's a bit pricey, but I'm willing to pay for quality products and a great experience. They put so much love into their concoctions, u truly feel great after having a sip. I visit the Nectary weekly and I grab about 5-6 btls of juice, each having their own specific purpose.I feel so good about drinking my greens and veggies. I've noticed a huge difference in my energy level, weight & complexion of my skin since I've incorporated their juices into my diet. I enjoyed the juice blends I had at The Nectary. I tried the G-Something, & the lady had the Lavender/Pro-Biotic Lemonade. I thought that they had some truly original, creative offerings, & they were quite tasty. I thought their products were quite pricey. While their menu is lovely, I was taken aback when the gal at the cashier handling money, also made my smoothie WITHOUT WASHING HER HANDS! She dipped her fingers in the ingredients and dropped them in the blender. Thus contaminating both the tub of ingredients for the next customer, as well as my drink!!! This place is great as far as the finest ingredients. You read any ingredient list on your smoothies and you're stoaked! The downfall is it is very inconsistent. When the owner makes the smoothies they're great but when anyone else does they're watery and not worth the price! The taste feels like they're missing something overall. Obviously my friend and I were not progressive, artistic, or earth-conscious enough to even rate a glance from the service staff as we sat quietly at their juice counter for about ten minutes awaiting some form of acknowlegement before leaving. It was so exciting to find this sweet new shop in the Barlow during my last visit home to Sebastopol. I live in LA, so there are multiple cold pressed options in and around my neighborhood...can The Nectary transplant itself down here!? So tasty. Great service. Local. Organic. A place I'd hang out if it were in my own neighborhood. Maybe it will become the juice version of the coffee shop, Hardcore. This is my absolute favorite place for a smoothie - which is so complete it becomes my lunch. I've gotten in a rut with the Mo Jo because I crave it. I also had a mushroom latte, I don't remember the name but it too was epic. I went in when I was coming down with a cold, had that latte and some shot of pepper or something that they recommended and poof, I did not get the full on illness that was going around. Bless them! I also bought their water kefir grains and am using them in coconut water at home. They are great. I tried kefir grains at Whole Foods and they had milk in them! I wanted vegan so that did not work. Self perpetuating water kefir grains are actually not easy to find so thank you Nectary for sourcing them, and in my home town. I actually carry their frequent smoothie card and I don't carry many repeat purchased cards. I'm thrilled they are in the Barlow and the Nectary is the main reason I go there most times. Yes the "juice" is expensive, but real food carefully produced is. A $10 smoothie beats 3 Starbucks any day and is as filling as a sandwich and drink in my tummy, and so much better since I'm gluten free. read more
