Unfortunately the customer service, or lack there of, leaves a bad taste in my mouth so I left and went to Vitality Bowls on Mendo and got an açaí bowl with a warm greeting upon entering their place. I went into Juice on the Square at 4:40pm (website and google say they're open until 5pm) and after walking in two woman just stare at me like "what are you doing here?" No hello, no smile, not even a word. I said the first hello, and asked for an açaí bowl. The girl said in an annoyed tone that they don't make smoothies within 30 minutes of closing, but I can buy something in their refrigerator. So why not publicize this on your website? Or why not close at 4:30? Because you don't want to wash a blender after 4:30? I drove across town for a açaí bowl so to be told "no" when they were open for 20 more minutes sucked. Wow, I'm so glad we stumbled upon Juice On The Square by accident! We were on our way up the coast and I wanted an Acai Bowl and this was the perfect location - close to both the freeway and to Trader Joe's which was on our next stop! My original thoughts about this place before I tried it was that 1) there aren't any other variations other than the one bowl they make (it would be nice to have options) and 2) it's a little bit on the pricer side, but those thoughts went completely out the window after trying it out. Juice On The Square is located in such a cute little plaza. It seems that parking can be a little hectic since it's a pretty small lot, but the lot is crowded thanks to the restaurants here. For Juice On The Square, they don't have indoor seating, but they have a couple outdoor tables if you want to eat there. We ordered two Acai bowls - one for my partner and one for me. All toppings included, minus the additional bee pollen you can get for +$1. While they were making our order, I noticed that some of their menu selections are gluten free, dairy free, and "always organic"! I love how health-friendly their menu is. If I get to swing by here next time, I may consider getting a bowl of Hot Soup if the weather is right! But wow, I'm honestly kinda surprised that Acai Bowls can be so aesthetically pleasing! Maybe it's the frost on the slightly frozen blueberries. Or the very finely shredded coconut bits to the point where it looks like powdered snow. Or maybe it's the granola clusters rather than the normal bits that make it look more appetizing. Either way, my initial thoughts definitely disappeared after seeing it. This has topped my list for Acai Bowls. It's $13.50 a bowl, but it's a P E R F E C T E D bowl, and it's larger than the usual size I get around the Bay - it is 100% worth it. The base is pretty unique in that it's not just either Dragon Fruit or Acai. It's a mix of all sorts of goodies that go together really well. I appreciate that the bowl isn't overloaded with toppings, but were actually blended as part of the base. But even with all the stuff mixed, they had a very smooth base. Toppings wise - I loved that the Gobi berries had a freeze-dried texture to it, so it's crunchy rather than chewy. I love how the blueberries are slightly frozen. The hemp seeds, chia seeds and coconut shreds add little bits of texture in the bites, but not too much texture. Most of the crunch comes from the granola clusters and these were some yummy granola! The honey drizzle was perfect amount and overall, the bowl had just the right amount of added sweetness to it. Needless to say, we've really enjoyed our Acai Bowls here. Customer service was limited as it was just ordering and picking up, but it was friendly. I'm hoping to come back whenever we make our way up along the coast again! read more

My friend and I each had an Açaí Bowl and one of their Immunity Shots, and we both enjoyed our meals. Having grown up in this area and moved away, it's nice to know that a place like this exits here now. I love this place. I get the protein shakes by the bulk. My favorite shake is the Cocoa Peanut Butter! I also really enjoyed the pumpkin shake (I forgot the name) hopefully they re-up on it soon but it might've just been seasonal. Staff is always friendly and smiling. I recently had the idea of starting a juice cleanse for the new year and saw Juice On The Square while searching through places on Yelp. This place is way too far because fact is I live in Oakley:(. But hey honestly that's my only complaint lol I swear I wish we had a place like this in the east bay where I live. I ordered my one day cleanse over the phone picked up my order the next day. I want to like this place but my first experience was a dud. We were looking for a high protein drink and a fruit smoothie. We first asked about the ingredients in the protein shake. It comes with stevia, an allergen for us. The shake is pre-mixed, so we were not able to order this. We then asked what other drink on the menu has high protein without stevia. They tried to read the ingredients on the protein powder but the ingredient list was covered with a sticker so they could not tell us what was in it. They then suggested one of their house made nut milks called "Revive" (is this the same as Revive Kombucha? Revive fruit juice? Store brand? Not sure...). We looked at the ingredients and it did not seem high protein to us. We asked how much protein is in it and they said about 15 grams. We asked how does it get so much protein in it, and they said it was due to the avocados and cashews. The drink is 16 oz, there is no way to get close to 15 grams of protein from avocado and cashews. We ordered the drink anyway, it tasted fine. We ordered a small fruit smoothie as well with a shot of ginger. The total for the two drinks was quite expensive at $18. This is a high end juice bar, they should know what they are serving. read more
