Spoke with the owner trying to request a neon, and i've never been spoken to in such an insulting way by a vendor. I called asking for a quote for the neon plus install. After sending him the information he called back because he gave me a price any only thought I wanted install, and sounded upset. He then said there was no way to create the neon because it was too small for that detail and I have obviously never made a neon before and have no idea what i'm talking about...all before I could say anything to him over the phone...Ill be sure to take my business to vendors who can speak to clients in a respectful. read more

My wife just came back from this neon store. She was crying. The owner was so rude to her. My wife was trying to do a favor for her brother and get a sign he had bought from Amazon repaired. she told him she thought the sign was probably a piece of junk. He open the box and plugged it in and start it so then he said all your brother wants me to do is put it together. He gave her the sign back, would not give her the box back, and told her never to come back I really do not understand why he could just not have said something nicer. I'm very disappointed with Tom. I got neon window lights years ago and one went out. It was hard to get someone out to repair. Being as though I like to keep the same company to service. Just a few days ago...another dude went out. Tom said he would be out one day...had me sitting and waiting. I called the next day and he said he would be out at a certain time. I asked was he sure because I didn't want to sit around waiting again. He started telling and talking down to me. Maybe he should hire a younger crew if he don't want to deal with people anymore. Very sarcastic man. Very edgy. Now I have to search for some place else. Hoping that I don't have to pay to replace all lights under new company. Brought a neon clock a few years ago for neon repair. Clock motor worked great before I dropped it off, then didn't work when I picked it up. I specified that it was blue argon color, got it back in bright orange neon. Took no responsibility for any problems, they just wanted to argue about that, obviously another "Chicago Way" kind of place. read more

I took my neon here which was broken, and although the repair was more than the thing was worth, he still offered a fair price for the parts. 4 stars for sure. This is a neon shop from some period in history that I'm not familiar with. Either that or its from another planet, but either way it's the most amazing place to wander around in. There is more neon signage in this place than in the rest of Chicagoland combined and it runs the gamut between new, used, and "somehow acquired". Even though every imaginable theme is represented in his four and five deep collection, there is a heavily weighted preponderance of beer signs. So much so, says Tom the owner, that he told me he gets two or three guys a week that walk all the way to the back of his shop to order a beer (they think his shop is a bar). I bought my "Walk Ins Welcome" sign for the addiction center I run and departed a little happier with the world than when I walked in. He gave me a glimpse into a happy and self-satisfying world that a talented guy has built in the middle of Chicago's urban jungle! read more

The man who I believe is the owner is extremely rude. We came in undecided on what we wanted, okay I get it.. that's annoying but with his attitude and pressure it made it even harder to decide. The store is set up where you can't even walk up and down the aisle without the owner having a heart attack. How are you going to set everything all over your floor and scream to tell your customers to be careful? He even said "your money isn't worth it." He's frantic, annoyed, unprofessional and is just out right rude. There are way too many places to chose from than to receive his poor customer service and attitude. read more

I picked up a white sox neon sign from here. I was so happy to find it because most of them online, are attached to some beer logo. I wanted it for my boyfriend's Christmas present. The price was much more reasonable than signs that were similar that I've seen online. My boyfriend loved it! We will definitely be back for more things for his Man Cave. The ONLY place to get a Neon Sign in Chicago! Don't think this place is just for businesses/bars. They have some fun signs for personal/man caves.
