We tried this place with a restaurant.com certificate, and I'd go with about 2.5 stars here. Main drawback was that some of our food was not very good. Wife had the Laredo steak, and it tasted on stale side, and we almost returned it, but did not bother. The calamari was bland and not fresh either. I had a swiss cheeseburger and it was good. I also had a Lagunitas IPA for $4.37 - a good value. They have a decent draft beer list. So I would return for a beer and burger, and that would be about it. The $8 fried banana cheesecake was a nice finish. They had a late dinner rush at about 7:30pm and it got crowded, so it looks like it can be a popular place. The restaurant is located at rear of the Bolingbrook Golf Club clubhouse and faces the golf course.

Always delicious food and nice service. Homey warm atmosphere. You can usually find a seat at the bar to wait for a table if you like.

I have golfed here many times over the past few years and heard great things about their wedding receptions, so knew that it would also be a great choice for a baby shower with friends and family. We booked our date about four months in advance and worked closely with the event coordinator, Róisín Daly who was outstanding throughout the entire process from start to finish. She provided a thorough checklist of how to prepare for the event, along with the materials they provide and anything additional we would bring. On the day of our shower, Róisín, Jennifer and Martin were all available to help us set up and ensure that the serving staff followed the timing of our schedule. The Gallery room was the perfect size for 60 of our guests, offering scenic views of the 1st and 10th holes of the golf course. Everyone raved about the presentation and quality of the food, from the appetizers to the beautifully plated main course. Following dessert, we had a couple hours to play some games, mingle, and enjoy ourselves. Our experience was truly seamless, with great communication from Róisín and a perfectly executed event by their entire staff. Our guests had a wonderful time and the feedback was extremely positive. We would highly recommend this venue if you're looking for a classy event with friends and family, I can assure you we will be hosting more with them in the future. Thanks Róisín and team! For some reason didn't even know there was a golf course behind the building! What a great little course! Along part three it could be called. It is early in the season, but things look to be well kept. There were enough water challenges, and bunkers to keep you on your toes. It is pretty conveniently laid out course as well. No searching for the tea box in the next hole. The clubhouse is delightful. We did not sit in the dining area, but it looks comfortable and spacious. The bar is welcoming and warm. However, on this beautiful day, we sat out on the patio and had full service from the bartender, Gabi who was delightful and darn good at her job! Our foursome shared a fried pickle appetizer and the soft pretzels with beer cheese. They were delicious! The patio is so comfortable and overlooks the beautiful course. I must've driven past Boughton Ridge at least a hundred times by now--that's not to mention the 2-3 times I've been to Ashbury's, the sports bar inside the clubhouse--yet it wasn't until thsi past weekend that I finally hit the links with my dad & father-in-law, when we tee'd off around 11am on a Sunday in late July. Overall, the course is pretty nice. The fairways are in decent condition, although several tee boxes were roughed up and the putting greens had plenty of dark spots. The bunkers could use some TLC, too. There was a lovely fountain in the pond near Hole #7 and the waterways seemed well taken care of. Greens fees are a reasonable $18. You can rent a pull cart for $5 or a golf cart for $10pp (having caddied as a teen, I elected to save a few bucks by carrying my bag of clubs). I made some solid tee shots and a handful of good drives, even though I lost a ball in someone's yard and spent way too long in the sand trap on #6. Playing through 9-holes at Boughton Ridge takes roughly two hours, depending on the experience level of your group. The course is exclusively Par-3's and Par-4's, although a couple of the latter were long enough to be considered a Par-5. At some point the beverage cart swung by us, and the course ranger ensured a speedy pace of play. * TL;DR * Don't have 4+ hours to commit to a full 18 holes? A round at Boughton Ridge will get you home before lunch. The fairways and greens have plenty of divots, dings, dents and general wear-and-tear but that's to be expected on a public course (c'mon, this ain't Coeur d'Alene). Boughton Ridge is similar to Twin Lakes Golf Club in Westmont, though I think BRGC is more picturesque and challenging. I'd love to come back some day in the future, maybe once my little guy is old enough to read putts and swing a 3-iron.

In July we attended the tasting to try all the dishes and from there chose all the menu options for the reception dinner. It was very convenient to have the venue as the caterer, and as we had eaten at McWethy's, their restaurant, many times (including the night we got engaged), we knew the food would be good. Since our wedding was in November, we had both the ceremony and the reception in the Great Hall. There was another event there (baby shower) in the morning but we were able to take possession of the bridal room at 2:30 pm and the other group had cleared out by then. My now-husband and his team of friends who were helping set up said the staff did a good job of quickly flipping the venue from the baby shower to ours. My only quibbles with the venue pertain to the bride room. There was only one lit bulb in the chandelier, so lighting was poor; no hangers in the closet; they provided us with a samovar of water upon request, but it leaked all over the vanity (water bottles would have been better); the couch is very low (my maid of honor couldn't get up from it without help; my mother brought in a couple of dining chairs so we weren't just standing, because there was just one other armchair to sit on); and it started out freezing but ended up roasting hot in the room. It was a good thing it was just me, my maid of honor, my mom and my hairdresser, and we had already done makeup at my mom's house in the morning, because if there had been lots of bridesmaids it would have been too crowded! (The bride room is connected to the public ladies room, but it has a keypad lock; the lighting in there is quite ambient as well.) We went for a medieval sort of theme with our wedding, so the Tudor-style beams and large fireplace in the Great Hall worked well with this. Our photographer also took photos outside against the golf course and building, including a lovely but very steep bridge. Cocktail hour was in the Terrace Room while they flipped the Great Hall from the ceremony seating to the tables and dance floor setup. We had arranged for specialty cocktails (named after our cats!) and the bartender delivered! The catering captain, Betty, introduced herself to us and also coordinated the timing of things well (speeches, bringing out the late night snack pretzel wall, etc). All the staff that we interacted with were true professionals. The food was all delicious (we chose NY strip with garlic herb butter sauce, chicken with champagne sauce, and cauliflower steak with pesto sauce as our three entree choices), and it was very helpful that they could make accomodations for vegans, vegetarians, people with gluten allergies, and dairy intolerance. This was quite an affordable yet very beautiful venue for our perfect day! Everything went perfectly as far as I know and we heard so many times from guests how lovely the setting was. I would highly recommend Mistwood as a wedding venue if you are planning for your special event.

The course is straightforward but you'll have to be aware of balls coming from other holes. Needless to say staying out of the trees makes things easier, but a sufficiently bad shot is not always the end of the world because you'll likely have space to get back to the proper hole. Condition was slightly below average, more from rain and other golfers than poor maintenance in my view. Finding an area to tee it up without the ground being torn up was difficult on many holes and I had to repair multiple ball marks on every green before even attempting to putt. Luckily there are ball washers and towels every hole. Unfortunately restrooms weren't often available so you're forced to find a secluded stand of trees or hold it until you get back to the clubhouse. Staff were very friendly but other players weren't. It wasn't the best weather to stick around for food or a beer but it doesn't seem like the best environment. The pieces are there to serve food and sit in or outside but there's no real ambience. $65 for a 1:50 Sunday tee time is reasonable. Better weather might influence the rating up, but a cold and windy June day wasn't my idea of awesome and the wind had a big impact on the ball on every hole.
