Thursday night 6:30. Crowded! Live music. We were seated in the "men's lounge" just off the main restaurant. Much quieter and very cozy. Large TV playing a March Madness game. Hubby was happy. I was pleased to be away from all the noise in the main dining room. Food was beautifully presented, and delicious. I had Meatballs with angel hair pasta, which was served with garlic bread. Been coming here for a few years and never had any issues here, great atmosphere, great people all around coming to have drinks and eat and having a good time overall. Bad service tonight. Arrived 4:40 1/27/24. Hostesses both on phone. Guys, that's just so bad! Seated. We're told the wrong specials. Food was decent. Served in timely manner. We had to ask for refills on drinks, she didn't suggest another cocktail....that's not good in restaurant business. We had to ask for check. Now waiting 15 minutes to hv her pick it up. My husband and I went to The Nest last night for dinner. There was one couple sitting on a bench in the lobby that we assumed were waiting for a table. The hostess told us there would be a 20-30 minute wait for the table. We told her that would be fine, gave her our name and that we would be sitting at the bar waiting. An hour later we were still sitting there. There were three open tables and the hostess was nowhere to be found. My husband looked on the wait list and our name had been scratched off along with two other names after ours. We finally saw her toward the back of the bar by the kitchen having a nice time chatting with the wait staff. On her walk back to the hostess station she took her time getting there as she was too busy texting on her cell phone. My husband went and talked to her and then told me as he walked back by that we were sitting at a table in the corner by the windows. He was pretty mad and I have to admit I was none too happy either. I told him I would be there as soon as I took care of the bar tab. Our bartender Eric had been really nice and I told him the situation. He kept apologizing and I told him thank you but that it was not his fault. Our waiter, Jeff, was very attentive and had a nice personality. My husband had the prime rib and I had the Mediterranean chicken. The meal was very good!!! Another excellent experience!! I tried their Black and Bleu burger which was to die for!! It was probably the best burger I've ever eaten!? The meat was flavorful all the way through, very good angus beef!! I've been here a million times but never had a burger!!? Awesome!! I would definitely recommend this hidden gem of a restaurant! We tried this place with a restaurant.com certificate, and I'd go with about 2.5 stars here. Main drawback was that some of our food was not very good. Wife had the Laredo steak, and it tasted on stale side, and we almost returned it, but did not bother. The calamari was bland and not fresh either. I had a swiss cheeseburger and it was good. I also had a Lagunitas IPA for $4.37 - a good value. They have a decent draft beer list. So I would return for a beer and burger, and that would be about it. The $8 fried banana cheesecake was a nice finish. They had a late dinner rush at about 7:30pm and it got crowded, so it looks like it can be a popular place. I typically don't opt to eat at Golf Course Restaurants but I received a free Restaurant.com voucher and decided on this place after looking at their menu. I wanted a place nearby and wanted to try some place new so this was just a random shot in the dark for me. There is parking on both sides of the building...if you park on the side we parked on you pretty much walk INTO a wedding going on as we did to get to the elevator to take you to The Nest which is on the lower level. If you park at the other end, odds are you won't walk through any weddings. Our server's eyes lit up with everything we ordered so we must have done well on our selections. The service was great too. For an appetizer we got the pretzel sticks which came with a beer cheese dipping sauce. My friend and I both got burgers for dinner, and for dessert we got the ever-so-fabulous fried banana cheesecake... OMG it was soooooo damn good! We also sat outside - the scenery of the golf course made for a very nice dinner out there. I'd definitely opt to go back, because everything was great here! read more

I had a Cuban sandwich with tots on the side which was excellent and my partner had a quesadilla with chicken which was beyond what we might normally get elsewhere. Most of the tables were for larger parties so we ate at the bar. The views from the tables were fantastic while the bar had plenty of TVs for sports fans. read more

We come here occasionally and am rarely disappointed but it's been a work in progress. I feel the food and service could be improved since this is an upscale golf club. Our waiter was beyond good but we have experienced many who are new. The wait for food can take some time but tonight was delicious. We had the pretzel appetizer and it was good. I had the blackened mahi mahi with garlic mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. It was delicious. My family members had the steak sandwich and said it was good. A solid B on a scale of A to D. The problem is waiter turn around. A good restaurant has employees who last and cooks who last. If it's always new people then that's when problems arise. It's a great restaurant and bar but I feel it would get so much more business with better management. So much potential. Great location. Should be a hidden gem but it's not. read more

I found this place A- OK. My burger was done properly, juicy, and 3 napkins messy. The fries were undercooked. Our wait person was attentive, didn't disappear, offered refills, and it was all timely. The cons, as I see them: it is in the middle of nowhere. We came from the south and had to pass through the intersection of I-55 and Weber Road. The trucks make this intersection a total nightmare and I was told they are planning on changing the intersection to one like I-88 and Route 59, a four year project. Also, the building is quite nice, but dated. Brass is sooooooooooooooooooo 1980's. The temperature in the dining room on this blustery day was on the uncomfortable side. It's just about time to turn on the heat. Lastly, the soap in the comfort station had the most offensive smell, I had to drive with the car windows open, and even scrubbing when I got home did not totally get rid of the smell. One last tip, if you are there for The Nest, turn right after you enter and park in the lower lot, otherwise you have to walk through the building and then go to the lower level. read more

It's a very nice country club restaurant with an all you can eat baby back rib night. The service was excellent and we had a nice rib dinner and over all it was okay. I mean I am not sure how the ribs are prepared but it was average for me. I'd like to try different item on the menu next time. But first time there and if I ever get the chance to dine there again I will go for something different. I liked their appetizers the spinach artichoke dip. read more

A complete disappointment of The Nest bar and grill! A group of 14 reserved a table in advance, but well, they put us to a big rectangular table but also link with another big round table, since I guess our group is too big..sounds weird right? Anyway, the waitress then put us to the better table but sorry I think it's exactly the same style of dining table, so why wasting time by doing that? It took us around 30 mintues for waiting. Okay, service was very slow and actually the restaurant wasn't even filled up half, I don't get why take so long to have our server to order or food, alright, drink list is very limited, I had their special pumpkin spice latte martini, well, not so bad but not so good, but only 6 bucks, can't complain too much. Appetizers we had calamari, coconut shrimp and fried chicken wings, honestly its really standard quality. After about another half an hour of wait then our entrees come, another a big disappointment, I had lemon rosemary chicken, but sorry I don't taste any rosemary at all but only butter and garlic, chicken was overcooked and very dry, not juicy at all.Not so tasteful!, I barely can finished half of it. Location is really make me feel like I was going middle of no where, maybe that's a golf club,so I don't blame it. They can get back some points just by their decor, it's very nice and warm, beside of that, I'm pretty sure I won't go back again. A couple of miles before we arrived we drove through an open area of dark mystifying land wondering if we would discover the nest. It was dark and all was still, the cold wind whistled in the night. I heard a howl, no it was Beyonce dancing in the wilderness. We arrived to the country club I saw the banquet room and drove pass to settle in the nest. There were many cars at the country club however the scene was not as resilient in the nest. We discovered a group of high school pubescent teens celebrating a homecoming dance. Soon all the Shawn Johnson wannabe's left their nest and we got our table. We are a large group of 15 celebrating at the long table. No it was not a homecoming dance I know what your thinking ha ha. So our waitress came to take our order everyone placed their order. Then it was time for me to place my order. I asked "do you have a beer list of draft beers preferably import". She replied "no but we harp on draft". I asked if anything else was on tap maybe from Belgium or Germany. Then rolling off of her stupid lips she said "well why don't you just walk around the bar and see what we have on tap there all around the bar". I was shocked that she just told me to walk around the bar and look at all the taps. I told her to bring me an Arnold Palmer. When she came back I told her to take that Arnold Palmer back I wanted to order a beer. Then some how a beer list magically appeared and she brought it over. This lazy waitress just didn't want to walk over to get the beer list when I asked the first time and tried to saddle me with harp. No matter how good the food could be the service nested this review with 1 star. It's too bad for the nest that the food was poor as well. Calamari was weak the coconut shrimp was lame and the chicken wings were bland. The rib eye steak was a bit over done the broccoli was rubberized. Next time I go to homecoming its not going to be here. lol read more

Went today and sat at the bar. The bartender- she seemed very distracted and hard to find even though there was only me and another couple sitting at the bar. Never got a food menu so I looked it up online. They were out of several beers on tap but I landed on 1 I liked. The second pour she came back with a glass about 3/4 full and said this one was on her the keg blew. I stood up and moved at one point to get a better position to get her attention. She apologized and said she didn't give me a food menu because she didn't know I wanted to eat - odd for sure. I was charged for the 3/4 beer anyway as she disappeared after another shift arrived, finally got my bill and I wanted get the heck out of there. Wanted to place a to go order but again she was MIA. She was polite and apologetic but never around. I felt bad but tipped 15% anyway. The food was really good it was just poor service. They must have an amazing kitchen but not well represented on the front end. The shift that arrived around 4pm seemed to be more focused so hopefully it was bad timing on my part. read more

The Nest is tucked away at Bolingbrook Golf Club and I've been several times. The menu has lots to choose from and everything I've had - wings, ribs, etc., have been really tasty, fresh and hot. There are tons of beers on tap (Blue Moon, 312, PBR, Sam Adams, Guinness, and lots more) and they have an assortment of liquors - probably everything you'd ever want. The bartenders here are amazing! Friendly and very hard workers. Two thumbs up! We went in 2009 for the 4th of July and it was awesome! Fantastic food choices, bars set up outdoors, activities, even Uncle Sam made an appearance! Some of the locals or regulars even bought us a round before - so that was nice. Karaoke Fridays will blow your mind. Wallace is great and a fun entertainer. This has to be the best free entertainment around. Just the people watching and the music is enough to get me there again! Plus they offer a menu of appetizers for $5 during karaoke. I have only been there for lunch but I am sure dinner is just as good. I was really impressed with the decor, I guess it has to do with the fact that it is connected with the Country Club. Has been quite some time since we last were here. We decided to go tonight for the Fish & Chips; well the fish reminded us of fish sticks! It used to come with salad or soup - No More! Service was so so! It's so BRIGHT that you can do surgery at your table, when I kindly requested the lights to be dimmed- they told me they would have to dim the entire restaurant . Last night I went to the Nest Bar and Grill for the limited time fish fry. It was 5:30 pm and when my dinner came the fish was at best warm. I call over our server and she explained it was that way because it takes time for all three orders to be prepared. I asked for replacement food, two more luke warm pieces of fish arrive. She went into the kitchen and finally got three pieces of hot food. This is no low price fish fry at $13.95, I saw the chef look out into the dining room 2 times, maybe he should look at what he is serving to his guests. I would recommend anyone looking for a good fish fry try Bulldog Alehouse in Bolingbrook or Riverview Restaurant on Aurora. What a disappointment for what should have a great dinner read more

I've been to The Nest many times through the years but they seem very short staffed since last summer. I totally understand, given the times, but it's getting ridiculous. Our group of six came in specifically because a couple friends wanted to try their monthly crab leg special. We were immediately seated but waited awhile for our waiter to greet us. Finally we placed our drink orders and proceeded to wait 30 minutes for them to arrive. Figured we better order dinner while he was there! 2 of my friends ordered the crab leg dinner at $75. My friend made a point of asking if her crab legs could be chilled and the waiter said he would ask the chef. She kind of made a big deal to the waiter about how excited she was to try their crab legs. So it was pretty surprising when an order of lobster tails was placed in front of her. My other friend received her crab legs as ordered. Sadly, no apologies were made for the mistaken meal. Since it took so long for our food to arrive (and the crab legs looked just okay) my friend asked if she could just have the mistaken order of lobster tails back that had just been whisked away. Not sure what they would have done with those lobster tails back in the kitchen but he brought them back and at $60 she did think they were good. I inquired if my friend could just have one crab leg since she was looking forward to it and had accepted the wrong meal but the waiter came back to say that he "asked the manager" and they said she could have one for $30 (the $75 meal comes with 3 crab legs and 2 sides). He did comp her dessert but I do think they could have done better between the slow service and the wrong meal. Plus, three people ordered mixed drinks and they were in 3 different sized glasses-one being ridiculously small for a Black Russian. Menu has always been nice but that's about it. I've ordered a few things recently like the flatbread that used to have a delicious crust but now it tastes like a frozen meal. On that occasion, I was told by the waitress that it is now a pre-made crust due to supply chain issues. I've given them so many chances but now I think I may have finally given up on The Nest. read more

Very disappointed. Came for the special Lent Friday Fish Fry but the food was awful. Salad greens were old and dry as if it was pre-made days earlier. The fish was soggy, greasy, and the fryer fat was obviously old. I couldn't eat it and sent it back after only eating 1/2 piece. The waitress was very nice but I still had to pay full price for food I didn't eat. My guess is the fish, (jokingly called "catch of the day") is not only frozen, but had been allowed to thaw, went unneeded, and was re-frozen before finally being dropped in the fryer. You would be better off getting the filet o'fish sandwich at Micky-D's. read more

Went last Friday evening for the Fish Fry and it was a major disappointment. Ended up eating at the bar, which was fine but the service was not-so-good. The bartender was a nice kid, but slow in taking the orders, left dirty glasses and dishes from the folks next to us on the bar for way too long and generally inattentive. Like I said, friendly kid, but not a good bartender. The Fish Fry was awful... it comes with homemade chips (fries are extra) and they were cold, greasy and stale - like they'd been sitting too long. The fish was bad too, it is a nice cut but the breading was too thick and under cooked, giving it a gloppy texture near the actual fish, awful... Sent it back and got another dose of the same. This is a nice place and I've had good burgers/sandwiches here before, and reading some of the other comments - I'd stick to the basics here until they can figure it out. read more

We love this place, great steaks, awesome sides. The atmosphere is 2nd to none. And you must come back to this place on the 4th of July, they have one of the largest fireworks displays in Illinois. The build your own burger is great. It is in a bar environment, we dont drink, but enjoy it to the maximum. Best kept secret in the area, but dont tell anyone else. LOL. I just had my wedding rehearsal dinner here and would not recommend it. The only reason why i gave it 2 stars is because our 1 server did the best he could for the party of 28 people. When the manager was talked to he blamed it on the miscomunication he had with our weddimg cordinator. What ever excuse he had it didnt matter. I have never written a review. I have never not left a tip...NEVER...until today. The Nest had drunk , loud, golfers. Probable regulars, that no one from management told they were obnoxious. There were several servers standing around chit chatting. It took awhile for a server to arrive at the table. She did have a great smile but, lacked the quality of customer service. Took our drink orders. Then our food orders...never to be seen for 20 minutes or so. We asked another waiter to fetch our waitress. She came from behind a wall. I asked for water, more soda for my son, and if she could check on our appetizers. She then came around the corner with all of our food. Then never to be seen for 20 or so minutes. The food was okay. This place has a very good burger, one of the biggest and best in the area. It's basically upscale, casual dining. The menu is a bit of a paradox though, as you've got your potato skins, calimari, chicken fingers, a burger, a handfull of sandwiches and pastas, then most of the dinner entrees are up in the low-mid 20's. We've had ribs, which were OK, and on St. Pat's we've had the Corned Beef, which was OK. I'll go here again and again for a burger, but I do think the menu could use a little updating with more casual and less fancy items....it's the basement bar of a golf club after all. read more

We went to the The Nest for the first time on Valentine's Day when every single solitary other restaurant was jam-packed to the hilt. We love the fact that they are located on the fringe of the crowded-same-old-same-old-strip-mall-society that we have to deal with every day. We were stupefied yet giddy that there was even a table available at about 6:00PM. Parking was a breeze. The building & restaurant inside are beautiful. A big huge well-stocked circular bar dominates the north wall of the dining area which was a nice surprise. We found their drink menu to be different and very inclusive with everything from a wide array of beer and wine to creative mixed drinks. We found their mixed drinks to be a value for their size. I am now a FAN of several of their specialty drinks. Same goes for the beer selections & prices. Floor to ceiling cathedral windows offer relaxing views overlooking the vast golf course. An upscale woodsy, lodge-like décor with accents of chandeliers and other such mood lighting. Lots of natural wood grain and rocks. A great place to unwind. It reminds me of the Old Faithful Inn at Yellowstone National Park. The NY strip was as good & less expensive than a number of high end places we've dined at. Love their baked French onion soup. One thing to keep an eye out for is the mention of certain spices or herbs on the menu that are not fully present in the dish. For example; if you are looking forward to robust roasted garlic in your Shrimp Scampi, be sure your waiter alerts the chef or you may barely end up detecting it on your plate. Their dessert menu is short & to the very unique & Deeelicious point! Their waitstaff is stocked with college-aged, sport minded individuals all of whom we found to be polite, friendly, and very service oriented. They are a perfect fit to this particular restaurant within a golf course. It didn't hurt our first experience that we had a $25 off coupon either ! :-) About half way into our main course the big crowds finally found their way in and we only wondered one thing, "Why so late?" Yes, The Nest was a very pleasant surprise and made our Valentine's Day a wonderful experience. We look forward to going back frequently. read more

I have been coming here for yeeaarrsss. I love how convenient it is to my house even my kid loves this place. But after the years and the high turnover with management, this place is declining. The service is horrible. They have no sense of urgency, and they forget about you throughout the time you are there. It breaks my heart when my 73 year old father just needs water!! We have stopped coming here because of the service. We love the food, but the service is enough for us to give it 10 thumbs down. read more

I have been going there for years raving about my experience and food till this year. First I would like to say that the male servers are either lazy or not trained very well, maybe both. The chef on Easter in the Restaurant bar area was not on his game as well. I went back today and it will be the last time. My food was just terrible. The server forgot to bring us plates, utensils parts of our order. My ice tea had no lemons no ice etc. It was just 2 people for him to serve, and we were his only table. (Jaime) nice polite young man you need more training. Ive noticed The wait staff likes to hang out in the back of the Restaurant and chat with each other rather than worry about their customers. I did look for the manager (Dan) after our disappointing birthday meal so I could let him know how disappointed we were. It will be a very long time before we ever go back which is a shame, because we truly like the place but the food is getting less desirable and lets not forget about the under trained lazy staff. I frequent golf courses for business with clients... and this restaurant is one of the worst I have ever been to! Old and dated facility, food is terrible and uninspired. They have basically given in to the fact that all they are a restaurant at a golf course and they don't have to try. Service is extremely slow and has no knowledge of their product. Money wasted, go to one of the other newer courses in the area that appreciate and actually try hard to earn your business. read more

Went for the Friday Fish fry. Crowded and busy. Very disappointed. Very poor service. Dinner came before the salad, Never brought the items requested, Never asked for refills on drinks or additional fish until we waited a long time and just asked for the check. Fish was very greasy and served in a plastic basket with wax paper. By time you are on the second filet the wax paper fell apart and you are eating on a dirty basket, Very cheap for the price. Best thing was the chips. Would not recommend as you can go to any local charity fish fry and get a better product at a better price. read more
