    Huevos Rancheros

Great thing about a road trip is trying new restaurants. Need a place for brunch for Father's Day, we found The Nest. We wanted to make sure we got a table so we lined up before it opened. It worked! First impressions of the restaurant is great. Full of character, pictures of birds on the wall was beautiful, nice furniture, and ambiance. Service was good. The highlight was definitely the food. Being brunch we had Smoked Salmon Brunch Bowl 5/5 tasted and looked great. Farmers breakfast 5/5, house made breakfast sausage was fantastic. Croissant Benedict, needed a bit more taste but good overall, 4/5. Huevos Rancheros was good. 5/5. Shoutout to the smashed potatoes and maple smoked bacon which was excellent. A restaurant I would go back without hesitation!

Wonderful service, great menu and delicious food!! Order the Focaccia with Balsamic butter, you won't regret it.

Food Quality: 6/5 Customer Service: 5/5 Location and Parking: 3/5 The Nest was incredible. Inclusive. Quality. TASTY. Homey. Their covid protocol is on point. Masks are required to and from your table, a certain number of people are allowed in the establishment at a time, and hand sanitizer is mandatory upon entry. The staff, all of them, are quick to respond, quick to refill, and really friendly. You get the sense that they're all friends with each other and with you. Easy atmosphere and a lot of smiles. The menu is really interesting! I absolutely love brunch and love having options until 2 PM. The butternut squash soup is rich, thick, creamy, and tastyyyyy. Their plates are aesthetically pleasing and their food is cooked to perfection. You can tell they take pride in what they do! The only complaint I have, and I'm sure they've heard before, is the parking situation. Getting a truck in and out of those spots at the front is tricky when there are pedestrians and other cars bustling around you. Perhaps I didn't see parking on the side or at the back that might have been easier; keep your eyes open! It's worth it regardless of the parking situation! I didn't actually go to the washroom so I can't comment on the handicap situation, but I believe there was a ramp at the front entrance and the place is SPACIOUS so getting around in a wheelchair is easy as pie.

Chipotle chicken breast on a Pretzel bun with a side salad with Raspberry Balsamic dressing. Good sized portion and very tasty.

Recommend The Nest to anyone traveling through the area and it is definitely my favourite place to eat in Penticton, BC Welcoming staff and great service. Go early, as the lunch crowd quickly fills the restaurant.

This place is absolutely great. Comprehensive menu and options for those with meat, gluten, or mommy issues. Service is good and quick. A visual treat, and you can also walk through some real Penticton history since the Cannery is the former Aylmer food packing and processing plant that processed south Okanagan produce and fruits for Canada and the Empire. (British, of course). I had the butternut squash soup - even better than mine! And prices are very reasonable. Yup, I like it

Chicken pesto Flatbread and Breakfast sandwich with smashed potatoes

Great place for brunch/lunch. We got the pesto chicken on flatbread and a breakfast sandwich with smashed potatoes. Everything was presented nicely and tasted great. We will visit again when we are back in town.

    Naked sliders... My choice.

My co-worker dragged me here kicking and screaming, so concider this a slightly hostile review... A very friendly, hip, comfortable and welcoming establishment. The meals look very nice and all in all id concider coming here if I was a 3rd level vegan that only eats what does not cast a shadow. Thant being said, you might have good luck getting drunk here since they offer some nice drinks. However if you are looking for hearty food like steaks or pasta y'all might want to keep looking. But that is not to say that there isnt a lot of food on the plate, i doubt youll leave hungry. So yah its actually pretty nice. Just not my kind of place. The menu is really limited in my opinion. I went with the 3 sliders and had them remove the cheese beans bacon and other wierd stuff since i was only looking for a simple burger and thats the closest thing they had. Who puts beans on a burger...?j

The food here was absolutely amazing, the staff were super nice and the drinks were super good too. Definitely will be back again soon! There are a ton of gluten free options which is why we came, and they were so good!

We went for breakfast. It is my first time in this restaurant. The place is really nice and they have a painting exhibition. I ordered the farmers breakfast and was delicious. Perhaps next time I will choose another bread because the corned bread and don't like. I will repeat this restaurant.

    Tofu scramble. So hearty!

Great brunch spot with good food for a reasonable price. I came here with a group of seven and everyone ordered something that I would've happily ordered for myself. I got the tofu scramble. I also got to try the huevos rancheros. Both were delicious. The stand out to me were the hash browns. I love hash browns that are golden brown and extra crispy, and this was perfect. The presentation of the dishes was also very appetizing. Something like this in Vancouver would've easily cost $15+. My tofu scramble was $11. The only star deduction comes from the rather slow service. Our server was nice, but it took a while for the food to start coming. Even then, only half the orders came. The other half had to wait another 20+ minutes until it arrived (after we asked about it). This was odd because the first batch and second batch had overlapping orders, so it was strange that there was such a long wait in between. Anyway, I would come here again if ever I'm in town as the food was delicious.

    Savoury waffle.

Breakfast is fantastic, so is the soup and bread. It can be a bit busy at peak times and the artwork is super nice. It's a favourite!

Ambience was okay, I wanted something like a diner, but it was neither a diner nor a restaurant. The food felt like out of a can, tasted really bad. Nothing seemed fresh; from Alfredo sauce to humus to tofu, mushroom soup, chicken sandwich. Chicken and tofu felt rubbery, mushrooms soup was straight out of a can. Everything we ate felt like it was processed food. We really liked the mango and guava juice. I paid $106 including tips for 2 adults and 2 children under 8. I would not go back.

We went to Terry's one late Wednesday afternoon for wings for only $4.99/pound. They offered a good selection of breaded (only) wet & dry flavors. We chose Caesar Parmesan, Honey Garlic, Hotty-Yaki and Salt & Pepper. The S&P was light on spices and needed more,, the CP was very saucy and the other two were delicious. The atmosphere was laid back and quiet for that time as the restaurant was not very busy. The service, I.e. Henry, was very attentive. The four servings of wings came out to ~$20, what a deal!!! I strongly recommend this restaurant for afternoon and evening dining. It's a real bargain with delicious options on the menu.

There is plenty of brick inside the restaurant which is always something I like. The woman who took or order said that the owner had bought the place behind them and they were blowing out the wall in between the two establishments so the kitchen can service two places. Sounds good right? The problem we had was that the breakfasts we got were not hot, I mean barely warm. My sunny up eggs were barely done, still alot of clear in the whites. My two halves of toast were put together, butter to butter. The second pieces together for my entire meal I was going to put marmalade on after I had finished all but them. The butter had not even melted into the toast, it was still whole butter. Everything tasted quite good, but it has to be hot. We would certainly return, but it fell just short of the mark. Too bad!
