    Dinner Menu 12/19/25

Very impressive! Simple menu with Chef's flare! I started things off with the Steak Tartare Toast. Not crazy about the bread, but the mixture of chopped steak with pickles, chive mixed with lite mustard and caped with an egg yolk. That's was good. My pic is missing a bite off the side so you know. I was told that the pasta is homemade each day and is really good, but it was missing a protein, so I asked for them to add the seared Duck, and they obliged. You can really pick out the truffle flavor and the Duck was an outstanding choice. Definitely worth the up charge. The bar has a full selection of liquor but was missing all the Buffalo Trace Bourbons, including my fav Blantons. But that was enough to deter me from a five star rating. The restaurant itself gives a very welcoming vibe with soft relaxing music and big front windows with long side drapes. Hug ceilings and low hanging big soft lights gives it an upscale feel. For dessert I had the Bourbon Almond Cake . With Butterscotch, apple, and Ice cream, how could you go wrong. I sat at the bar and the service was excellent. I was very happy with my first time visit as I was staying at the hotel Teatro. Highly recommend if you're downtown Denver. Cheers!

Decided to try the Nickel before a DCPA show. Named after the nickel fare customers paid to ride the streetcars, much of the decor pays homage to the Denver Tramway trolleys. We sat at the bar, since this is where you can get HH bites and drinks. (HH runs Tues-F, 4-6pm) Our server was amazing and very attentive. She paced our items well, and didn't rush us since we had plenty of time to waste before our show. The small bites are only small in size. They are big on flavor. The corn beignet had a little spicy kick, the crab salad delicately wrapped in a cucumber was citrusy, and the squash blossom was lightly battered with tempura. The Nickel Salad was a generous portion that could be shared. The herb white balsamic dressing was addictive and paired well with the red grapes and blue cheese. The regular menu charcuterie board came with 3 cheeses and 3 meats, fruit, nuts, jam, and perfectly toasted, seasoned baguette slices. Generous pours of wine at $10 a glass for HH were a perfect pairing. I will definitely return to the Nickel at the Hotel Teatro.

The food, drink, service, and atmosphere at the Nickel is worth every penny! The Nickel is located inside the Hotel Teatro. This is a fancy, historic hotel which has been around for 100+ years. The Nickel offers a Happy Hour every Tuesday-Friday from 4-6pm. It is a great place to hang out if you are waiting for a show at the DCPA Arts complex which is just across the street. We ordered little bites on their HH menu (corn beignet, squash, and blue crab salad) all were very good. The bartender/our server described them as an amuse bouche and she was right on with that description. We also selected The Nickel Salad (which can be split. It is large portion on the HH menu). The White Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing is amazingly good on this salad btw! To finalize our meal, we split the regular menu order of the Charcuterie Board - also delicious. Everything was divine, decadent, and reasonably priced. To get the HH prices, you must sit at the bar. This worked out well as our bartender/server was very nice, friendly, and even split out the salad into two portions for us. Great place to go - even if you're not a hotel guest.

Even though it's a hotel restaurant it's delicious! They were a little understaffed but did their best and were very friendly. The worst was just the wait to be seated; the food came out hot and fresh. It's a beautiful area that has a cozy sophisticated feel. The chairs and tables for small groups are more along the lines of a café set up. In my opinion they have the absolute best breakfast potatoes!

My dad stayed at this hotel while he was visiting town. We decided to try this restaurant which is located inside the hotel. We came around 6:30pm and were seating immediately. The menu is small, but they have some staple items. The burger was delicious and cooked to perfection the fries were also super plentiful. I wasn't super hungry so me and my dad decided to share it. My dad also had the beet salad which was a tad small but if you accompany it with something then you will be good. Our waitress Rachel was great, super nice and made sure everything came out in a timely manner. The decor was all very cozy with whiskey barrels surrounding and the chairs were also very comfortable. If you are in the area looking for a good dinner I would give this spot a shot. Overall 5/5 stars.

This is in the hotel Teatro, which is where I stayed during my trip to Denver, CO. It had good reviews on Yelp. So, I had to check it out. If you stay at the hotel, they give you these $10 vouchers to dine at the Nickel, depending on how many days you stay at the place. Great technique to have you eat from their restaurant. I tried a few items from their breakfast or brunch menu during my stay at the hotel. The seasonal toaster strudel was enjoyable, but the nickel salad was just alright. Nothing was amazing here. The service was just average, too. It could've been better.

The food is SO good! The bar tender was so attentive. I'm so sad they no longer sell the special oatmeal for breakfast! That stuff is legendary! I LOVE the oval tables that don't make you feel crowded. I'll leave some photos for you as well. I was in 905. The room was a little rough (faucets, towel holder, etc.), but I loved the balcony! Especially, with the night air!

    Raw prime rib.

For $85 Xmas eve brunch we were served completely raw prime rib. Dry eggs over cooked bacon and french fries. No omelette station. No eggs Benedict. This was a complete disappointment. I won't be giving this place another chance. The service was average at best.

Was a pleasant surprise! I haven't been to the Nickel in a very long time but I am glad I decided to give it another try. It's located inside hotel Teatro, and within the walking distance from DPAC. Great menu that has tons of different options for everyone. My salmon salad was absolutely delicious: super fresh and perfectly seasoned. Drinks were really good as well. I definitely recommend checking it out if you are in downtown Denver.

We were seated in the bar area at a high top so we were very close to live music performer! So that was an enjoyable portion of the experience! The interior was dimly lit, loud and lively, and offered a rustic but modern feel. Based on this experience, food was overpriced and mediocre. We tried the fish and chips ($23) and fried chicken ($26). We were disappointed the fish and chips were not served with fresh lemon to "baptize" the fried fish. Fries were limp and didn't seem fresh. Also thought the fried fish should have had a crispier crust. The fried chicken was good flavor and texture on fried crust but the white meat was very dry. Mashed potatoes and gravy were lukewarm and not served hot. Also I tried to season the mashed potatoes but the pepper grinder at the table was completely empty. Biscuit was dry, overcooked, and lacked butter. Probably will opt for other options next date night.

As Texas transplants, we've enjoyed some incredible steakhouses over the years and have traveled extensively, but this was truly one of the best dining experiences we've had. We started with the wedge salad, which was fresh, crisp, and packed with flavor--easily one of the best wedge salads we've ever had. The highlight of the evening was the Wagyu steak topped with cheesy potato croquettes. It was cooked to perfection and so tender it practically melted in your mouth. Every bite was packed with incredible flavor and was one of those dishes you continue talking about long after the meal is over. What impressed us most was that every single item we ordered was exceptional. The quality of the ingredients, attention to detail, presentation, atmosphere, and service were all top-notch. We were so excited for this, but SHEEP was incredibly disappointing. The "main" portions were very small (2 small-ish prawns as a main) in a 4-course menu. None of the dishes were standout. I thought the tomato starter was interesting; my husband said the bread was the best course :/ . Dessert was really weird - beautiful, but it had such an off-putting taste. I only ate a few bites and the rest was trashed, untouched. (Same with most of the prawn dish.) One was the biggest issues was that service was lacking overall. No one checked for dietary restrictions or allergies at the start of the meal, which definitely should have been done. After the starters, service got very slow (without anyone coming to explain the delay) and silverware sat uncleared between the main and dessert course. It was difficult to hear the explanations of each course and the server, though friendly, quickly ran through a laundry list of ingredients and sometimes seemed to struggle to remember all of them. After the first course, I'd also asked for flowers to be left off future dishes (though beautiful, it was a dietary restriction that I needed followed), but the prawns came coated in blossoms, so we barely had any of that dish. No one explained until it was cleared that they were chive blossoms. I'll also note the flower garnish is present in every dish and prominent in many dishes, and not included on the menu. After all of this, a hefty bill arrived with a mandatory 22% tip and a service fee for dining on the rooftop, where the restaurant is located. Really disappointed. The experience has put this once-longtime fan off this restaurant group.

Since it was around 90°F that day, we appreciated being able to relax comfortably inside the air conditioning. Overall, we had a very enjoyable experience. The food, beer selection, and service were all excellent, and I would definitely return if I'm back in the area.

After a brief walk from the hotel around 12PM on a Sunday, we found ourselves in a nice section…read morewith shops and eateries. Outside, there appeared to be some construction going on where there'd be outdoor seating, but it was too hot anyway so we wandered on in. It wasn't busy when we arrived, 1 party visible (later I realized there was another section with customers.) Cute decor with plenty of seating. Our server immediately greeted us and seated us right away. The brunch menu wasn't too overwhelming and she went over the specials. Ultimately, we ordered the following: Artichoke tortelloni Eric's bao-nuts Gabe's chronic chicken salad sandwich Rioja Benedict Colorado lamb burger From beginning to end, all the dishes were exceptional! Everyone loved their meal! The artichoke tortelloni was enough as an appetizer for a party of 4. Apparently, we ordered a "desert" with the Eric's bao-nuts to start everything off. This in itself was so good, I'd go back just for this if I had the chance. I personally had the colorado lamb burger. I generally tend to eat light and don't finish my meals in one sitting. This definitely wasn't the case. The presentation for the burger caught my attention as well. We were so happy with our meals that we decided to get a "2nd desert", the flourless fudge torte. Man, I'm impressed. Chocolate was not too rich or sweet, loved the cherry compote. This is was a winner! Overall, it was a great lunch dining experience to start off my mother's birthday. The service, presentation and food were on point! I'll be back in the future to try out their dinner menu. Thanks Rioja!

Drew was a great server, very attentive and made great recommendations for a solo diner. I enjoyed a glass of Grenache rose and the half portion of Goat Cheese Gnudi. The Gnudi were the fluffiest pillows of yum and the lamb ragù made it the perfect amount of filling for a late evening meal.
