I arrived also wearing my mask. Doreen came out of the office and assured me, from behind the glass partition, that everything was carefully wiped down and sanitized after every client meeting. I very much appreciated how her office was so meticulous in observing the safety protocols required during this time of a virus outbreak. She passed me a pen under the small space under the glass partition, said it was sanitized, and that I could keep it. The whole process proceeded with Doreen sliding papers to me underneath the partition, explaining what each document was and indicating where I should sign and initial, then date. I signed and slid them back to her under the partition. The process took approximately 30-35 minutes. Doreen was very friendly, courteous, professional. She explained things clearly and moved the procedure along quite efficiently, while never rushing or glossing over any point that I raised. Additionally, she is a very likable person, and we had an intelligent, pleasant conversation during the process. I highly recommend Doreen; she is an excellent representative of her company and the Goodyear office.

I was met with petty emails bullying me about my unwillingness to pay cancellation fees when there were none clearly listed in my contract nor did I have clear instructions on how to pay these fees. Once I had an account reset and was able to log into my account I didn't even have charges listed in my account. After finally making my cancellation payment, my realtor sent me an email with the words "I am a true believer in Karma and I'm not going to beg for payment."

We interviewed by phone several real estate agents we found through the Internet and were extremely impressed with Carl's knowledge, responsiveness and willingness to work with us, so we enlisted him as our agent. We flew out to Phoenix in January 2009 to look at prospective properties. Carl spent two full days showing us house after house. Since the houses we were interested in were either short sales or foreclosures, we knew we had to be patient. Over the next five months, Carl advised us and guided us through the short sale/foreclosure process. He visited the many houses we identified through the MLS, took pictures of them and gave us his assessment. He quickly submitted bids on houses that met our criteria. He was always patient, quick to respond and thorough. He made us feel like we were his only clients, even though we knew we weren't. We were so confident in Carl's judgment that we committed to buy a house sight unseen. All we had were the MLS photos, his pictures and his opinion - but that was enough for us. After we closed, we flew out to Phoenix to see the house for the first time and we are absolutely thrilled. Carl did not steer us wrong. With some realtors, once the transaction is complete the relationship ends. Not with Carl. He continued to assist us. Since 2009, we have bought and sold another home with First Impressions of Phoenix, my father, brother and oldest son bought a house with them, and last week my youngest son closed on a house with help from First Impressions of Phoenix. If you work with Carl and Karen, you will end up with a relationship, not just a transaction. They will always look out for your best interests and they'll provide whatever support you need. This is my second attempt at leaving a review for Marta Perez, and I suspect my first didn't make…read moreit online because it was negative, regardless of it being accurate and true. Ms. Perez was the buyers agent in an ultimately failed sale of my home in Payson, AZ. We worked in good faith with her and her client - who turned out to be her sister, but with different last names, we were unaware during the transaction - including jumping through several FHA hoops for them, addressing ridiculiously minor inspection issues (tip over protection for the range, chipped paint on an exterior porch column, etc), dropping our ask for meaningful earnest money (ultimately just $1000) and moving up our own cross country relocation by 2 weeks to close on their requested date. Long story short, Ms. Perez and her sister were "less than honest" with my family, my agent, and her mortgage lender. After flying across the country to rush and finish addressing their list of requests, spending a 3 day marathon of packing, loading and cleaning to get on the road by her requested date, Marta and her client were no-shows to the closing. We had already signed our end of the paperwork, and were halfway across the country when the news broke. To date, Ms. Perez's duplicitous behavior has cost me more than $40,000 in lost wages, moving costs and continued mortgage payments on a home we no longer reside in. Thanks to her expertise - because she clearly knew what she could and couldn't do during the process, despite my agent REPEATEDLY informing her of the difficult position she was putting my family and I in - and AZ real estate laws, there is no penalty for her or her client, other than a bad review. So here it is: the bad review, urging other potential clients and agents to take great care in dealing with Marta Perez.
