When my car still wouldn't start, he invited me in to keep warm and comfortable while I wait things out. The team must've been aware of my failed jump, because as soon as I walked it, I was welcomed with a warm hello from the team. Warren especially was kind, we offered me a hot cup of coffee, a comfortable couch and ESPN on the TV. I felt like I was keep warm in a logged cabin while I waited for my husband to come my car rescue. Stuart and team were generous with their space. Needless to say, this shop will go above and beyond for you. I will be shopping at High Country Outfitters for all future gifts for my husband- they have all his favorite brands and out of this word customer service!

The people who work here have figured out the best blend of helpful while leaving you to figure out how they can help you. (I was measured for my backpacks here. Trust me, the measurement matters!) I've purchased multiple backpacks and shoes from this store for my hiking journeys, and I have not been disappointed in any item. Their return policy is excellent. I've only had to use it a few times but it has always been easy (you need a receipt though!) I've been an REI member since 2006. In the early days, I would get $20-$30 back from my purchases because I was always stocking up. It's a great loyalty program. Today I bought replacement hiking shoes and a new item - water purification tablets! The store has a new layout so I also took some time to see how they switched things around. And if you can't find what you're looking for, ask someone because they can order it for you and have it shipped to your home.

When I saw their Atlanta location in Buckhead, I pulled right in to check it out. This location will not disappoint! I was greeted immediately by staff and assisted well when I needed it. The store manager and I had a brilliant conversation about Patagonia's partnership with Apricot Lane Farms. I bought the beanie hat several years ago to support that collaboration! I bought several items with the promise to come back to the store when I have more time to shop. The advantage of having that in-store experience, is that I was able to try things on before purchasing. I have recently lost weight and am down a size. This would be a great place to stop with any out of town guests or if you are new to Atlanta. Super excited to share this review!

I placed an online order for an Arc'teryx Men's Cerium Vest. My order was received, processed and shipped within a day. When the package arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to find my new vest neatly folded and placed in tissue paper in its shipping box, not wadded up in some plastic bag in typical Amazon fashion. As an additional "white glove" touch, they included a nice , hand-signed (by "Bill") Thank You card expression their appreciation for my order. They even included a High Country sticker just to be nice and maybe for a little free advertising :-) I know... I know... it's not like they came over and washed my car, but it's the thought that counts. This kind of family-business driven "extra yard" makes a shop stand out... makes me want to trade with them again in the future, kind of like how I felt after purchasing something from Colonel Littleton and receiving a mini Moonpie in the box with my order.
