We were a big group and our server was excellent throughout the night. We stayed from 7 pm till it closed and were the last to leave. All the staff were friendly and pretty attentive in topping up water, clearing dishes and also keeping track of the items ordered by individuals. Note: they cannot spilt individual item into separate bills. They can do individual bill though. Our group of 16 or so ordered a bunch of stuff to try. The chocolate fudge cake looked amazing and it came with ice cream and whipped cream. The house sauce for the rosemary pork bites was so good. It was sweet, tangy and spicy creamy. We dipped the tator tots into it and it was so good! The fish pakora was nice and of the wings, I liked the salt and pepper version best. Smoky bbq was not bad. The classic buffalo was a bit dry. The place was quite noisy when it was busy with the chatter of customers. Patio could be an option if you prefer a quieter place. Street parking is available as well as within. read more

If you're looking for a unique place to go for some local pub fare and good vibes, the Notorious Grey Fox is just the joint! Being built inside an old penitentiary gives this place a fun flare and the staff could not be more down to earth and kind. We were a small group of 3 on a Monday night, so the restaurant was not very busy, but still had a solid stream of people throughout the evening. I couldn't help but comment with my friends as to how awesome the music selection was. To start, we ordered a variety of appetizers to share. First up we had the Rosemary Pork Bites which were incredible. I think we could have easily ordered two of them and still fought for the last one. They were perfectly crispy and the sauce was just the right pairing. Next, we ordered the Mini Stuffed Yorkshires and the Mozzarella sticks. The yorkies were incredible. They were soft, fluffy and packed full of flavour. The mozzarella sticks were nothing fabulous, but they were a good classic staple and would satisfy any picky eater. The star of the show though was the happy hour menu. We each ordered the Chopped Cheese Sandwich (IYKYK) and it was incredible. All I could picture was having a late night hankering for something semi-greasy, delicious and savoury after a long night and this sandwich would do the trick. Better than both a cheeseburger and sloppy joe combined, I will definitely be back for the Chopped Cheese. We finished off by having the Tater Tots which were again on the same level as the mozzarella sticks. Overall, this place has a lot of options, very affordable pricing (especially their happy hour menu) and great drinks on tap. They even had a couple cocktails on tap. My favourite was the Raspberry Juniper and Mint. It was refreshing and simple. If you're looking for a great local place with minimal fanfare but a cool history and great eat and drinks, the Notorious Grey Fox hits the spot! read more

Have been before with no issues but tonight was a disaster. Took overseas visitors for dinner. the service was not good at all, perhaps the server was new?Orders came out at random times, mains came as appetizers and others had nothing. Got a new server who straightened things out. Fish and chips came and looked pretty good. Unfortunately it was 3/4 batter and a tiny bit of dry fish. Very disappointed, the chips were good though. One order the fish was not cooked. Spoke to the manager as we thought he should know, he was only slightly interested. We were not looking for free meals and it was an honest review. Due to the lack of concern we will not be returning, very disappointing as its local and we want to support small businesses read more

Good selection of drinks with a nice patio area which has a pretty nice view. However would have to say I was quite disappointed by the food - got the calamari but didn't find it very fresh or crispy. I was going to get the flat bread as well but decided against it based on the calamari. Trivia night was pretty fun while we were there. read more

Four of us shared a huge platter of Nachos Grande on the outdoor patio - perfect for a summer evening. They were delicious and so filling that no-one wanted dinner after! The view is amazing over the river, and the atmosphere very peaceful and sunny. Drinks were good and service was friendly. read more

Thursday July 24 th noon, we are a group of retirees, meet every month for a luncheon. The group wanted to try an outdoor patio with the nice weather, however the patio and weather were the only positive thing I have to say. two people from our group were the first to arrive on the patio, no one else yet, a few more of our group started to arrive. When I arrived approximately. 12:15 some water had been set out and one other table of people were on the patio. The server I believe ( Krystal) was attending to that table when one of us slid an adjoining table closer to us to accommodate more people coming, in the middle of serving that table, she barked out " u can't move that table.....loudly. After this point she was visibly ticked off....another table of 2 arrived close by, then they had beers arrive, we still had not been asked if we wanted drinks.... 30 minutes pass, one of us went inside to ask if we could put our drink order in....server arrived outside 5-8 minutes later with an attitude that something I will say was disgusting. Our server was visibly mad at our group the whole time and it showed. The food, mine anyways, was terrible..... I had fish and chips....the colour of the fish upon arrival told me what it was going to be like, dark crusty brown. It was a good size, so I broke a piece off about 3 inches long, no fish to be seen. There was some fish in the middle which I removed the batter and ate, fries were ok. I don't recall having service this poor ever/anywhere. Me for one will not return. I don't see any negative stars for reviews, so I will leave 1 star. read more

Decided to try this place yesterday. I had the quinoa salad, and my friend had the Mediterranean salad. Generous portions, very fresh ingredients, and reasonably priced compared to similar salads in other restaurants. Patio view was great, and I was blown away by the selection of local craft brews. Love the location .... been waiting for this pub to reopen for quite some time!! We sat on the patio which was just lovely, staff was friendly and efficient ..... unfortunately all our food choices were a huge disappointment!! We ordered Hawaiian Flatbread, Mediterranean Flatbread and Perogies from the happy hour menu .... all were rubbery, reheated tasteless frozen food. We will return and maybe try something from the regular menu. read more
