You are getting the view. That is the whole reason this place exists. The wings were actually good, but expensive. $18 for 8. The drinks were good. Service could've been better. I actually laughed when I found out we get charged a 20% service fee when they don't even wait your table you just go up there to order. I don't have to come to this place again. Just know it's there if you want a relatively cheap date night that has a view like this.

The Oasis is one of those places you visit for the experience, and it delivers. The views overlooking Lake Travis are incredible and easily the highlight of the visit. It's the perfect spot to relax, catch the sunset, and take in the scenery. I honestly came for the views more than the food, but I was pleasantly surprised. The food was good, and the service made for an enjoyable meal while soaking in the atmosphere. If you're in the area, check it out!

This is the best place for a sunset! The chips and salsa were amazing. The staff is super polite and friendly. It's a beautiful place with so many interesting statues and paintings all over their property. It's worth coming visiting this place. I came with friends and they did not recommend eating the food here - the salsa was spicy and I loved it! We came for the drinks and those were great too. They have a local artist selling some jewelry and a store with some fun souvenirs.

It's a nice location! Kenia was very friendly and attentive with our order. Food was absolutely delicious. I don't like the glass round table and how low the tables are but the ambiance and the view is nice. It's summer time so we sat inside. The margarita tasted like something that was already premade and not that great. The digital menu was limited and it took awhile for someone to greet our table and let us know that the menu was digital. We waited for the menu and 10 minutes later realized there was a QR code with the table number. No call to action like, scan for menu. It's a great place to come once.

Returning to Austin after being away for 14 years, Oasis was a stop I insisted on making for the views, for the colorful and fun decor, and for the memories. It's a big tourist attraction and gets crazy busy. On the Monday night we were there we walked right in and got a lake and sunset view table. So beautiful! Take some time to walk around and enjoy the different areas filled with colorful artwork and funny sayings. There are statues and iron art throughout the property. There are lots of photo ops. Our food was chips/salsa/guacamole, chicken quesadilla and almond chicken entree. My drink was a glass of their house Chardonnay, which was very drinkable and good. The service is a bit on the rushed side--get our food and drink orders as fast as they can and then move on to the next table. It didn't bother me. Hey, this is not a fine dining experience here. This is a casual, cantina-like/bar-like dining while enjoying the view.

If you are up for the view- this is the place. It is best for sunset but we were here around 3ish. We requested for a lake view & we were asked to wait for 15-20 mins, just enough time for us to do a quick stroll in their vicinity. They have very nice statues btw. We were ushered here by a lady and we were escorted on our table, we asked if we can have an umbrella up but she said NO, I AM NOT SURE. We just requested for a shaded area & she had us sit on table 116 which is in the corner & water dripping from the top floor ‍. We asked another waiter if we can be transferred & he gladly granted our request. We ordered their special paella & i love it! Their fish tacos & fish and chips need more seasoning. Their servers are very helpful!

Whew. Where do I start? Honestly I'm baffled with the amount of times I've heard "the oasis is good for the views, not the food". Easier said than done but- I personally feel like the oasis has had ample time to take this common phrase into consideration when it comes to their menu. The food is honestly bad, and I'm not one to be super picky. My fiancee got the fish tacos and still is having a hard time hours later (described the fish as biting into cardboard). I got the chicken enchiladas which were soggy on the outside and dry on the inside. Truly did not know that was possible. The chips and queso were the best thing at the table and were subpar at best. For a drink I ordered the piña colada which albeit- I wasn't expecting it to be amazing, but it was underwhelming, not well blended and was lacking flavor (and liquor lol). Service: the wait time was an hour for a table or a $10 cover fee per person in the group to be escorted to an area that was going to have a live performance in an hour. We chose the cover fee because my fiancée was starving. The menus are QR codes and we waited about 15 minutes to be greeted but honestly was not terribly upset at that since It was a Saturday. Our server was nice- just very busy and wasn't able to be very attentive. Views: Stunning views, we had beautiful weather and the live music was great! That is the only thing saving this place from sinking into the ground.

Love the view! It was a busy day but we got our table pretty fast! Our waiter was really nice and helpful. I liked the food too for a Texmex. We ordered shrimp tacos, burrito and chips and salsa with margaritas. I just expected to have complimentary salsa and chips and portions were bigger. I still will be back for sunset watch.

Great food! Great service! Ambiance is amazing! Outside or indoor seating but outside being the show due to the lake right outside, the sunset that everyone goes for. Only downside is people get too excited, record standing up and block several people trying to record the sunset while they sit. Other than that, it's a good place to visit and go eat

The Oasis is absolutely worth visiting if what you want is an unforgettable view. I went there while I was in Austin for work because I wanted a place with scenery, and it definitely delivered. The drive from Cedar Park felt a little intimidating for someone who is not from the area, especially because the restaurant is a bit isolated and sits so high up, but once I arrived, it was completely worth it. The only scary part was the drive. After that, the experience was wonderful. The view is truly the highlight of this place. It is stunning, especially around sunset. I happened to go on a Tuesday, so it was not overly crowded, and I was lucky enough to get a great table right in front of the sunset. I was able to take beautiful pictures and videos, and the whole setting felt special. It was a little chilly, but honestly, coming from the Northeast, a 60-degree evening in early April was nothing to complain about. The atmosphere alone makes this place ideal for a romantic outing, a family visit, or even just a relaxing evening enjoying the scenery. The restaurant itself is huge, with plenty of parking and more than enough space, so you do not feel cramped and likely do not need a reservation on a quieter evening. The staff was also a major plus. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and welcoming, from the host to the servers and even the staff doing the cleaning. That level of friendliness really added to the experience and made the place feel warm and inviting. As for the food, I would say it is good, but not the main reason you go. This is more of a place you visit for the view, the atmosphere, and the overall experience rather than for an exceptional meal. The food felt like regular, simple Tex-Mex -- enjoyable enough, but not unforgettable. I had a salad that was unique and good, and I also had a virgin strawberry daiquiri, which I enjoyed. I do not drink alcohol, so I cannot comment on the bar selection. Overall, the food was perfectly fine, but if the menu were stronger, this place could easily go from very good to truly outstanding. That is really the only downside for me. With a location and setting this spectacular, better food would make The Oasis a complete 10 out of 10. As it stands, I would give it about an 8 out of 10. Still, I absolutely had a great time and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants amazing views, a fun atmosphere, friendly service, and fantastic photo opportunities. I went solo this time because I was on a business trip, but I would definitely return with my family or significant other in the future.

We come to The Oasis on Lake Travis for one main reason, the views. And wow, they never disappoint. This place easily has some of the most breathtaking views you'll find while dining in Austin. It is absolutely stunning. Every time we go, it still feels just as special and never gets old. The whole property is part of the experience. I love the different levels, the unique structures, the artwork, and the fountains. There are so many great spots to walk around, explore, and take beautiful photos. It's a fun outing in itself, especially with family. Now for the food, it's just okay. Nothing terrible, but nothing outstanding either. I would call it pretty mediocre overall, which is why I'm giving it four out of five. That said, the location, views, and overall layout and atmosphere are impeccable. It's one of those places you have to experience at least once if you're visiting Austin, and honestly, it's worth going back more than once just for the atmosphere alone. We'll definitely keep coming back, for the views every single time.

The view here is amazing! They have so much seating which is nice! Both inside and outside! I thought the service was super good! The food was average, I would just recommend coming here for the view. The food is good a little pricey for what you get but it was a fun time for the ambiance!

I have no idea why anyone who eats here would give this place anything below a 5-star rating. Perhaps some people have an unrealistic expectation of what "good service" is. For me, excellent service means that the wait staff are friendly, and you got what you ordered. So here's my two cents. Food: it's pub food with lots of Tex-Mex options. You're right on the lake, so it's got that lake vibe going on for sure. We got the chips and queso (with ground beef), salsa, and the guacamole up front--all were delicious. We sampled margaritas and settled on wine with dinner. The food was nothing special, but everything was served hot, well seasoned, and exactly what we ordered. Service: beyond excellent! It was pretty busy for a Monday (it always seems to be busy), so things were moving slow, but we did not care!! We simply sat on our butts watching the sunset while sipping on cocktails and they all hustled around us. Atmosphere: the whole reason to go here. Sit outside, enjoy the view, and chill to the eclectic mix of music being provided. Bonus--the people watching is phenomenal!! We don't live in Austin, but we visit The Oasis anytime we are. This place is truly something special.

Ask the Community - The OASIS on Lake Travis

    Are there vegan options?

    Definitely - numerous!

Do you have allergen info? Specifically gluten free?

I do not know 100% but they are accommodating BUT if you do order gf something double check the order is correct.

Does the Oasis take call aheads for large parties?

I'm sorry but we've been there about 5 times and they do not take call ahead or reservations. Also everyone in your party must be there in order for your party to be seated. It was my birthday party and they did not take call ahead. You can rent the…

What's the dress for this place? My family wants to come here for dinner, but we'd have to come straight off the pontoon and might have "lake wear" on still.

It's very casual & many people arrive after boating ! You can come as you are. But not in bathing suits. I'd say very casual is fine but not swim suits

    Do they take Apple Pay?

They do everything electronically. I'm guessing "yes". But I'm not 100% sure. You may want to call and ask to be on safe side.

Is it open the day after New Years?

    Yes 🍻

    Are dogs allowed?

    No pets allowed

Does anyone know if the Oasis is operating as normal at 100 percent ? How is it since the reopening of TX?

Yes, I am here now and it looks like every table is occupied . Business as usual

Does Oasis have lunch menu on the weekend?

It is open on the weekend but I doubt that the menu is special

When the best time to go when there isn't a 2 hour wait?

Mid week at lunch time or mid afternoon

If our large party is not complete...will we still be seated (with their seats) when our turn comes, since you do not take reservations?

They normally will not but would call ahead and speak to a manager. FYI this place is about the view Not the food.

Is this place also a hotel? I've seen so many people reference 'stayed here' or 'hotel' but it appears to be one large restaurant. TIA!

no, not a hotel. "stayed here" may be in reference to Lake Travis area lodging.

    Are they pet friendly?

No they are not. Not even human friendly. The service sucks.

Try to reach you for Easter reservations? I've left message and received o response.

Yes I believe we tried to call you but your voicemail was full and we could not leave a message. we are full on our Easter reservations and only have the ability for first come first serve for general dining

How far in advance do you take reservations?

    We do not take reservations.

Do you take reservations on weekends?

    Nope

I'd be worried about having it in the winter of summer because of the set up but what really forces us to go another direction is there is a lot of restrictions with vendors. You are presented with a list of vendors you must use. The asterisks indicate which vendors are not up for discussion. The ones that are not with an asterisk are still required but if you stray from that list she must personally interview that vendor and each person must have a million dollar insurance policy. As a person who has no family in town and planning everything by ourselves we just didn't have the time to devote to some of those rules. We didn't really get to talk about much else as we spent so long talking about the rules and importance of the liability insurance that there wasn't time to talk about much else. The space was pretty, It was set us an open air venue that can be closed off with glass. Basically a blank canvas because it would be all glass. Off ot the side there is a big tree with a wooden dance floor that had christmas twinkly lights wrapped around the tree. Seemed it would be lovely. Especially for a couple that plans to wed and have reception there... equipped with rooms for the groomsmen (a ground floor location near the pool with tv and videogames and bridesmaids (which was upstairs.. dangerous for heels but very cute modern space) For our needs, just needing a reception space it was just not for us. I just wanted to be remembered as a beautiful bride.. size need not be noted.... thank you.
