Came for a quick half hour. Couldn't expect more. Dinner was great. The bar vive was amazing and super comfy atmosphere. Totally recommend it.

Was dining solo so sat at the bar. The bar area is pretty large and there's several seats at the bar. They also have a nice outdoor area to the side of the bar. The bartender was a great waitress. She was attentive to all diners and provided great service. I came during happy hour so enjoyed the rose Rita martini which was slightly sweet and refreshing and a pour of the Austin cab to go with my entree. I ordered the wedge salad. They don't have side salads so it was fairly large but delicious. The dressing was flavorful and the strip of bacon was a nice touch. It was a Thursday so I did the prime rib special. I got that base size and it was enough to enjoy for dinner and lunch on Friday. It was cooked to perfection and the twice baked potato was also good with plenty of toppings.

Date brunch with the hubs...neither us had been to the Carve at The Grove. We last dined at the Carve at the Southwest Parkway location. Today was a totally different dining experience. This Carve is visually appealing with clean architectural lines. Lots of glass and wood throughout the interior to spark a new and modern flare. The booths are soft and inviting...super comfortable. Before we sat down, we are already impressed. Carve at The Grove provided an upscale yet welcoming dining experience. Both the hubs and I selected the same brunch menu item...chicken and waffles. We both had a hankering for some comfort food. Our entrees were well-seasoned, flavorful and massive. We both thought we would not be able to eat all the chicken, yet we did. Trevor, our server, was warm, welcoming and extremely attentive. We did have somewhat what of a surprising debate of what is considered dark or white meat. For the record, white meat is the breast, tenderloin and wing. Dark meat is the thigh and drumstick. The reason I am including this in my review is due to this being the second time this month where our server was unclear of difference between white v dark meat. Lovely brunch date...

Came to CARVE for a friend's birthday and decided to go with the Carve for 4 plus one appetizer. The total ended up being around $260 for the four of us, which felt a bit on the pricier side, especially considering it worked out to about 12 oz of steak per person and basically a couple bites each of the app. My friends really enjoyed the steak and were pretty impressed, but personally I thought it was just okay. Not bad, just not super memorable for the price. That said, the sauce it came with was actually really good and probably my favorite part of the meal. There is parking next door at the garage, which made things easy. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice, and the restroom was especially clean and tidy. Overall, not a bad experience, but for what you are paying, I expected a little more in terms of portion and overall wow factor.

First time at CARVE, I loved the ambience and the whole vibe! It was quite busy but our cocktails were great and our waiter was very accommodating! Amazing choices of steak and appetizers!

Went to dinner here with my husband and overall had a great experience with a few minor misses. We started with the calamari, which had an Asian-inspired twist and came with a peanut dipping sauce and an Asian slaw. It was huge and packed with flavor--definitely a great start to the meal. We also shared the tomato and avocado salad, which was fresh and refreshing. The restaurant was kind enough to split it for us, which we appreciated, and it's something I'd absolutely order again. We also tried the puffovers--these weren't my favorite since I found the bread a bit too hard, but my husband enjoyed them. For our main course, we ordered the "board ," which includes a mix of different steak and meat cuts. It's advertised for four people and it truly could have fed four--very generous portions and great for sharing. On the side, we ordered mushrooms, mac and cheese, fingerling potatoes, roasted vegetables, and the chef's whipped potatoes. The mac and cheese was my least favorite as it felt pretty basic. The standout sides for me were the mushrooms and the whipped potatoes--both were delicious. For dessert, we got the trio, and the lemon bar was the clear winner--so good that we ended up ordering another one to go! Service was attentive and smooth throughout the night, and the restaurant itself was clean and welcoming. Overall, a really enjoyable dining experience with plenty of highlights.

Had a fantastic time! Server was attentive, helpful and awesome. We sat in the bar area at a high top booth for 4. Very comfortable. The food amazing and plentiful for sharing. Ribs were fall off the bone! Pizza tasty and excellent crust! Bar drinks perfect!

The filet mignon was very bad

I ordered their special Filet mignon and it was un-eatable 50% nerve. returned it, and was still charged for it. Service and ambiance were very nice we sat outside

** my review from a work event POV with over 20people** Service: The manager was lovely and very accommodating but the servers looked like they hated their job, we had to keep reminding them about our drinks and they looked annoyed. Food: the food was good but everything was almost cold. The soup I ordered was like warm and nobody drank it. When a coworker asked if they could warm it up the server said to give them a moment and never returned. Eventually they removed the soup from the table without asking if they were done. Ambiance: the place was very beautiful and clean, it smells amazing when you step into the restaurant. The room we were in did get a little warm after a while but as expected in a small room full of people. I'm sure a smaller party would have had great service.

The last time I was at this Carve location I came during Happy Hour for some drinks and appetizers. I have heard so many great things about their regular menu items and was excited to come back this time for lunch. We held a luncheon in one of their private rooms with a set menu with a few different options to select. For a drink I went with a French 75. It was perfectly made. Started with their Cold Smoked Casear Salad. It was crisp and fresh. For entree I went with the 6 oz Custom Cut Filet Mignon medium rare. All I say is....WOW...this filet mignon now ranks as one of my top favorite. It was cooked exactly how I wanted. Came out sizzling on the skillet and packed with flavor. Perfectly seared with a tasty and crunchy coat of seasoning. The grilled onions and butter made it that much better. For the sides we had Smoked Mac and Cheese, Sweet Jalapeno Corn Brulee and Fire Roasted Seasonal Veggies. All absolutely delicious. For dessert we each got a cute little trio that was the perfect portion to get a little variety of different desserts. Overall the service was great and I was not disappointed by any of the items. I would order it all again!

Great first visit to Carve! Easy to make reservations and plenty of nearby (complimentary) parking. The ambiance around the restaurant is pretty neat - music playing on the walking trail and garden area outside and just inside, you can see various cuts of meat on display by the butcher. We were hosting family in town for a graduation, and this place definitely felt like a treat. Extensive menu options, and all the food was excellent quality. We ordered a few appetizers (oysters and bread tower would definitely get again) and the Carve Board to share. Favorite sides were the mushrooms and sprouts, and the only thing I wouldn't order again would be the seasonal veggies (solid portion sizes across all the plates). Would be great to try a few other options on the next visit!

I came here with a friend to try the brunch menu. I ended up getting the truffle chicken pot pie off the regular menu. It was very good and very filling. It wasn't really like a pot pie. It was like a truffle, mushroom chicken chowder with an interesting dense pastry bread sitting on top. It was good though. My friend enjoyed her salmon cake Benedicts. I had a mocktail and a friend had a cocktail. The drinks were pretty and I really liked my mocktail. The side of fries were actually really good. Service was very friendly and the restaurant itself is elegant and very large. It'll probably be a nice place for dinner also.

Just wow. Carve never disappoints. We had the Thai salad and calamari to start (they're not pictured since we ate them up so quickly ). For the main meal, we had the miso buttered salmon, the big belly burger, and the lunch special. The food was amazing and the service was very good! Since it was someone's birthday, the waitress brought out like three sampler desserts for us to share, which included their delicious banana pudding. Overall, I love this place, it's quiet, the service is good, and the food is fantastic!

I really…read moreenjoy having the opportunity to go out to different places that offer a tasting menu where I don't have to choose what to eat. Best idea ever and you get introduced to different things that you typically wouldn't maybe try on own. Ended up making a reservation for a Sunday evening and was seated towards the back. Unfortunately, you cannot do the tasting menu at the bar. You have to sit at a table. I will say that's a one downside because as a solo diner, it don't mind sitting at the bar, I would prefer it actually however I wanted the tasting menu so here we are. The dining room area was very modern and very high ceilings in the back area that I was seated in had a beautiful outdoor view, especially if you're facing outward. The kitchen itself you could see as you walked by through to go to the restrooms and then also you were able to see the bar when you first entered the restaurant. Once I was seated, I was able to order the tasting menu and I did add on the wine pairing menu which it's a decent amount. I'm not gonna lie thank goodness I took a ride share. First off they have a martini order sheet. So if you're looking for a specific type of martini, you can check off the boxes and hand it in. Now the thing that shocked me was when the martini cart came running around the corner. This was really fun to see as a gentleman next to me ordered a martini and it's made table side so you really get to see the action right upfront. Now, after the martini card left, my cart came with all of these little wonderful bites to start off with. The gentleman who gave me the rundown of what was on the menu let me know that I needed to eat as he was talking. So some of these items were meant to be eaten right away not to wait for him to finish his spiel. However, that came back because he ended up telling me I was going too fast! The food was amazing, everything that I had, I didn't take a ton of the food pictures cause I really wanted to enjoy the moment, but everything I had was amazing. There was nothing on the menu that I did not like. There was a couple next to me celebrating their anniversary and they ended up having the scallops which were absolutely phenomenal. They ended up telling me or asking me if I was getting scallops, and I wasn't sure because I didn't see it on the menu Thankfully, the next dish that came out next was the scallops and y'all that was absolutely oh my gosh just melted her mouth delicious. The couple watched me....and waited for the reaction. It didn't disappoint. Now the couple was there because they had a gift card which was nice and they were French told them specifically to get the scallops and you could order 10 of them and you totally could you totally could. They're that good. The service itself was phenomenal from start to finish everyone that came and assisted dropping off food or picking up plates bringing me the next round of wines was just absolutely so kind and fun to interact with. I also really enjoyed the variety of wines that were offered because it gave me a few new ones that I hadn't tried before which is always nice. Now it definitely is a bit pricey however I found that the service and the food itself was really amazing and I would totally go back. And yes, I would definitely do the tasting menu again cause it just made it so easy to try so many things on the menu. And I think they do it for all the guests, but there was a nice little lovely delicious pastry that was given to take home with me and it was phenomenal. The next day kind of reminded me of a Kouign-amann pastry, That is definitely get again!

By the time I had made the reservation everyone else seemed to had no availability but they had a couple left so we came here. By the time we had made reservations, only bar seating was available, which I felt we were lucky to even get since other steakhouses and fancy restaurants were completely full. We ended up having to park a couple blocks away across the river to the west but it was free street parking and the restaurant is located next to a bridge crosses that river so it was actually convenient. Once seated at the bar, we were well taken care of and not rushed even though our reservations were technically at their listed closing time. We just ordered a cocktail, a few side dishes and a steak to share. Everything was really tasty and well presented. The steak was pretty good, but I don't feel it was the best in Austin by any means. Overall this is a very nice date night experience, even if you end up just sitting at the bar area like we did.

For our food we went with cornbread, pork belly sliders, aged wagyu burger, and fettuccine. The cornbread was phenomenal, an easy standout with a grilled onion butter that provides a pop of flavor. The pork belly sliders were also good, balancing all flavors perfectly. The fettuccine was good, not great. The chips and their texture took a lot away from what else was going on in the dish. Now for the best part of the meal, the burger. This burger is unworldly, an absolutely delicious bite brimming with juice. The beer cheese and jam do so much here with a perfectly cooked patty. I think you're supposed to enter on E Cesar Chavez St. They had our reservation and we were seated promptly. We ordered the Rotisserie Chicken to share (we are an older couple). Delicious! And it was a nice big (1/2) chicken! It came with a generous serving of broccolini. It came with mashed potatoes (actually, puréed potatoes), too. They were good, though I prefer not-perfectly-mashed (let alone puréed) potatoes and the serving was not quite as generous). Don't get me wrong--we would order this again. The service was good, definitely acceptable by modern standards for the price range, but not outstanding. The ambiance was that of a modern, slightly upscale hotel restaurant. Nothing really fancy. But the wait staff was dressed nicely and so were the other patrons. All in all, a good experience! Oh, the most puzzling thing was that at the end the waiter asked me if we wanted to put the tab on a card or on the room tab. The waygu was so tender, soft and flavorful, you do not need a knife to cut through the beef.

The turkey avocado sandwich (my husband enjoyed it) and the hot chicken sandwich was so good ( a little spicy but very well seasoned! My 9 yr old daughter had the chicken fingers kids meal (not pictured). She enjoyed it but the portions for the kids meal are a bit small so keep that in mind. All in all, we will definitely be back to try new items!

I came here for Sunday brunch and had a relaxed, easy experience overall. I started with a chai…read morelatte, which had a nice sweetness and a lightly spiced flavor, though it was served more lukewarm than hot. It was fine, but not something I felt compelled to finish. The standout was the beignet tray. The mini beignets came topped with powdered sugar and were served with a coffee glaze for dipping. They were small, warm, and delicious, with crispy edges and soft centers. This was easily the highlight of the meal and the dish I would come back for. To balance out the sweetness, I also ordered an egg-and-cheese taco on a corn tortilla with salsa. It was simple, but it did the job. My boyfriend ordered avocado toast and an iced coffee, and everything fit the casual brunch vibe. The atmosphere was chill, and parking validation was a plus. One thing to know before going is that the seating process is a little unusual: you order at the front first, then find a table. We arrived before the line grew and had no issue getting seated, but I could see this being stressful if the restaurant is crowded and tables are limited. Overall, Dish Society is a solid brunch spot on SoCo with a relaxed feel!

My girlfriends and I were on a girls trip in Austin and we decided to stop here for brunch. It was…read moresuch a hit, this restaurant is our vibe and I wish we had it back home. The restaurant itself is decorated so nice, it's picture perfect. I also really appreciate a restaurant committed to having options that are seed oil free, from local farms and also having options without refined sugar. Miranda was our server and she was so kind and attentive. She made sure we had a great experience and was a pleasure to talk to. To eat I ordered the classic breakfast and to drink I had the vanilla maca. I didn't love the vanilla maca, and I only blame myself for that. I have never had maca so I didn't know what to expect but the drink basically tasted like a chocolate protein shake. Which isn't bad but I wanted like more of a latte so that was on me. My meal however? Loved it. Everything was so flavorful and hit the spot exactly with what I wanted. I also really appreciate a salad with breakfast since this helps lower your glucose spike and so when a restaurant offers this I know they know true wellness!!! My girlfriends both ordered the avocado toast and loved it. One ordered the cherry vanilla limeade and enjoyed it as well, but as an avid cherry hater I didn't try it...but if you like cherry she recommends it! I would come back to Austin just to eat here again. So good. So jealous this isn't back home... did I mention that already??!!

I wanted to like this restaurant, but they made it hard to do. We started off with the guacamole…read more The pomegranate seeds on top were a nice touch, but man, this was flavorless. It was painfully boring. We had our 6-year-old, who is head of the Picky Eaters Society, so we ordered bread with butter. This 6-year-old, who eats bread on the daily, took one bite and wouldn't eat any more. We even get gluten-free bread regularly, and he eats it. The bread was fine, but don't expect flavor. By some miracle, they even made butter tasteless. I considered calling the Vatican to see if this was some holy, divine miracle, but my wife suggested maybe the main course would be better. We settled on the pesto pasta with chicken added for an additional fee. The pasta was good. Great texture, good flavor, and the combination of ingredients was good, but it's nothing original. It's pesto pasta. It's a classic. I appreciate the pomegranate seeds on the guacamole because it's original, it's clever, and it's different. We also ordered a special soda drink for our son, and it had a small black bug on top. I had them take it back and replace it. I kind of expected a "Listen, we apologize for the bug. Here's half off dinner," or something, but nothing. Service was fine, and it's a decent atmosphere. If you're looking for a place to sit and talk it's a great place, but if you want food or a drink go somewhere else.
