A quick get away with a friend. It was like a home away from home. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit on the first floor. We were able to spread out and gave comfort. Located at the back of the property we had a great view of Bob's Barkers home. The Mountain View was beautiful. We were very closet to 2 pools on the property. Choosing Lyft as our transportation was both convenient and easy to do. The unit provided a private bathroom per room. Kitchen had the basic of needs to complete our morning and evening meal preparation. We enjoyed the pool and bike riding around the area. We even worked out at the gym on the property. Overall the property was clean and comfortable. Staff was helpful when needed.

Cheap murphy bed being sold as a standard queen bed.

My wife reserved a suite here on a Saturday night. She got a confirmation notice for a standard queen suite. The cost was about $225. They have a 4:00pm check-in time. Our room wasn't ready until 5:15. This was inconvenient, but whatever. When we got to the room, we were confused because we didn't see a queen bed. It was a small room with a small kitchenette. Then I noticed a big cabinet against a wall. I pulled on it and discovered it was a murphy bed. There was no standard queen bed in the room. The bed was only several inches off of the floor with a very thin mattress. I am 66 years old and don't get up and down from the ground as easy as I used to. I went to the front desk and told them this was not going to work for me. They informed me that all queen suites had murphy beds. The mattress in my motor home is much better than this mattress. We were in the room for about 15 minutes. I asked for a refund and was told that since it was booked through a 3rd party site their was nothing they could do. I double-checked their website, and it does not say suites had murphy beds. If it did, we would have never booked the room. There are pictures of standard queen size beds on it. It does also shows a picture of a folded up murphy bed but no mention of it being in all queen suites. We left there and found another room, and booked it. Don't try to pass off a murphy bed with a cheap, thin mattress as a queen suite. That's dishonest.

I always enjoy my relaxing trips to this property. If you like to swim then the 9 pools will suit you well.

Stayed here for a week while on vacation in Palm Springs. Resort is beautiful! So much to do here- 9 pools, 8 jacuzzis, tennis courts, bocce ball & pickle ball! There are also 2 complimentary bikes in each unit, electric bbq grill in each unit, washer, dryer & a garage! The resort is pretty big, so you'll get plenty of exercise by walking or riding your bike the whole loop. The "cons" - that you're not allowed to set the thermostat to lower than 72 degrees, otherwise you'll be held financially responsible if the a/c "freezes and need repair". 72 was comfortable, but I run hot, so I like being in an igloo. There isn't a lot of privacy in the back patio. The cement walls are waist high and has an opening so anyone can walk into your patio.

Our "villa" was infested with roaches. This was our 3rd time staying here and the other visits were great, but this last experience over Memorial Day weekend was terrible. When we first checked in I found a huge dead bug under the sink but didn't think much of it. Two days later I'm putting my 2 year old to bed and a huge roach comes running across the bed. I killed it with a childrens book and then put my flashlight on to search the bedroom. There were FOUR dead roaches in the bedroom alone, and another dead one in the living room. Next morning my husband is standing in the kitchen and felt a tickle on his foot. He looked down to see a roach on his foot and another huge roach crawling by the wall. When we checked out that morning I told the front desk what happened and the woman's response was "I'm sorry, we will tell maintenance to spray the room." No offer to make things better, no shock or profuse apology, which makes me think they know there's rooms with roach problems and they rented them out anyway. On top of this the walls are so thin. We were kept awake by the people above us and the people staying right next to us were really rude and loud and yelled late at night. Here are some fun pics of the roaches in our room

Let me start off by saying this is a beautiful resort! Cons: Condo wasn't ready, we got there at 4:30pm and didn't get checked in until 6pm. One lady complained about waiting 2 hours. They do not give you new towels, so bring your own laundry detergent to wash them. The electric grill they provide only heats up to 200 degrees, so it took forever to cook our food for the 4th of July. Pros: Plenty of pools & spas to choose from. They give you an option to use the complementary bikes located in the car garage. Which we end up not using. The temperature in the condos are set to 72 degrees which was good for me and family. If your looking for a lower temperature good luck because you can not change it. It's cool to plenty of eating spots and grocery stores. We went to the Morongo Casino which is about a 15-20 drive. The front staff called us to check to see how our stay was going, very nice of them. Overall I had lots of fun & will booked a trip here again.

Plus they provided a closed, personal garage, and 2 bikes as well. 8 pools, tennis courts, nice seating areas. We had paid the extra $40 or so to get a room on the second floor and to our surprise, the double queen room came with a nice natural spring tub and was very spacious. Everything was really nice including the staff and service when we ordered food and drinks near the poolside. The skyline is beautiful and to be there on July 4th, we could see the fireworks in various parts of the sky. There is plenty of parking but it is a little odd of a location as it is mainly in a residential neighborhood with a few options for food. I have made similar requests at other Bonvoy properties before and have almost always been severely disappointed. That was not the case here. Our rooms were ready when we arrived at noon, and we even received an upgrade due to our Bonvoy status. The front desk manager was so professional and kind! I was blown away when we arrived in our room and they had left the sweetest gifts for our son since it was his first trip. Touches like this are what make the Ritz Carlton brand legendary. I was a little scared when I read that most of the recent reviews were negative. I was thinking "oh no! What did I get us into." This place is a blast from the past. The decor is that of a mid century modern and is a really cozy quadrangle set up. The interior feels homey and the property is set up like an air bnb with shared amenities. They play 1950s music all day on speakers throughout the complex, it creates that vintage feel but can get repetitive after a few days. Lounge with tables, board games, travel brochures, couches, fire place, coffee and tea, and industrial kitchen for use during your stay. (Old reviews mention happy hour, breakfast, snacks, etc. these are no longer offered but why not just bring your own?) Each room has microwave and mini fridge. Outdoor gas fire pit for use. The pool is small but has a deep end 8ft which is nice. There are pool noodles and some tubes to use. The hot tub is spacious and powerful jets. We stayed in the Hawaiian surf room, loved the theme it was so cute and felt like a tropical getaway. The shower is small but functional. Good AC unit with a remote control and ceiling fan. Surfboard coffee table and wicker love seat add to the tropical feel. Overall this was a nice private getaway. You can be left alone to relax! If you need anything you can text the hotel and someone replies super quick in my experience. The hotel feels very secure with codes needed to enter the complex and security cameras at the entrance and surrounding the complex. (Probably for management to check and make sure everything is running smoothly). I would stay here again in a heartbeat and I have stayed at a few different boutique hotels in the area. This would be a top choice! Please realize this is an older complex and it does show some wear and tear but come on the building is probably 100 years old or somewhere close to that. If you are expecting a sterile, high end, resort feel for your stay this is not your place... but otherwise this is a great choice! I couldn't help but feel bad for the owners with all of the really bad reviews on here because that was truly not my experience. I left off one star because there are definitely areas of improvement that could be made but not enough to ruin my experience.

All rooms are a maximum of two people with a hot tub, refrigerator with water, microwave, and coffee maker, air conditioning, and DVD player. If you'd like, bring a DVD and popcorn to enjoy during your stay. The bed was pretty comfortable. There were more than enough pillows which I'm guilty of using more than one pillow while I sleep. I love how the comforter was linen on the outside, but cozy and warm on the inside. The Crooners room has two sinks, but I only used one. There is happy hour everyday at 5pm by the pool or communal area with snacks and beer or wine. During my stay there were chips and salsa and the following day was veggies with dip, with of course a drink of choice. Really nice touch added to my stay. It's been a while since I have stayed in a bed and breakfast and I love the homeyness here. Breakfast is served in the communal dining area with hand sanitizer provided. The three-course breakfast starts with a fruit smoothie, a fruit parfait and a hot breakfast. For breakfast they served blueberry pancakes with sausage and the following day it was quiche with artichoke hearts and potatoes. I loved the service here so much. You sit at a table and they serve the food to you. The pool is open 24 hours will pool floaties available to use as well. Another thing I like about this place is that because there aren't many people (max 40 people at a time) it is highly likely you will get the pool to yourself. When I checked out and left the property I told my husband I would enjoy staying here again. I really enjoyed my stay here and highly recommend you stay here too.

The property is spread out, so they have golf carts running around to shuttle you between buildings, which is a nice touch if you don't feel like walking. I stayed in a king room and it was clean and comfortable with a nice patio. Friends of ours were in one of the villas and those were really nice, way more space if you're traveling with a group. She then hassled us about not being allowed to bring anything into the pool area, despite numerous other guests visibly having full trays of outside food and drinks. The tone and manner in which we were approached were completely unnecessary and made us feel singled out. On another occasion, Elena refused to give us six towels for our family of four, insisting that we were only permitted one towel per person. At a resort charging this much per night, having to argue over two additional pool towels is absurd - especially considering the dozens of t towels left strewn about as the pool was not attended to by cleaning staff. We were told they may not have enough towels for every guest which again is absurd. My children were also repeatedly questioned about wristbands, despite the front desk specifically telling us that they did not need to wear them. Having staff routinely stop or question your children after being given conflicting instructions by the hotel itself is frustrating and detracts from what should be a relaxing family vacation. At checkout, I was standing in line waiting my turn when a woman behind me apparently became tired of waiting and sent her child ahead to ask an employee for assistance. Rather than directing them back to the line, the employee proceeded to help them while I continued waiting. It may seem minor, but it was representative of the lack of attentiveness and professionalism we experienced throughout our stay. My sister also stayed at the hotel and was charged parking for two vehicles although she only had one. She has had to follow up with them many times regarding the charge despite being assured that the additional charge was corrected. Beyond the service issues, there were several problems with the resort itself. The lazy river is much smaller than it appears in photos, and there were nowhere near enough floats available for the number of guests using it. The rooms also had surprisingly poor soundproofing, such that I was able to clearly hear the guests next door showering. Pest control is an issue as there was an incredible number of tiny flies that repeatedly flew around us. The food was probably the worst value of the entire stay. The quality simply does not match the prices being charged. A $27 chicken Caesar salad served with packets of Ken's dressing and a sad, unimpressive piece of chicken was honestly ridiculous. $25 for a simple 12-inch pizza was also excessive. I expect resort pricing, but resort pricing should still come with resort-quality food. The entertainment and activities could also be substantially improved. For a property marketed so heavily toward families and as a destination resort, there simply was not enough going on. The activities that did occur were also a disappointment. For example, the DIY squishy activity was just coloring on foam pieces with dry-erase markers. The slime making was fun but was only offered once at an off-time for most guests. The rooms themselves were the strongest part of the property. They are modern, attractive, very spacious, and well designed for families. However, I would not recommend paying the premium for a one-bedroom villa. We found that the king pool-view room offered essentially the same usable space for our purposes, with the main difference being the villa's additional half bath and a sink area. I would save the money and book the king pool-view room instead. We were also very pleased with the servers attending to our area of the pool across the three days we spent there. Brittany was one of these servers but unfortunately I don't recall the names of the other two who were also very attentive. Overall, this was disappointing because the Grand Hyatt Indian Wells has the bones of a great family resort. But at this price point, guests should receive polished, hospitable service and a premium experience. Instead, we repeatedly encountered petty restrictions, inconsistent information, underwhelming food at extremely inflated prices, and staff interactions that made the stay less enjoyable rather than more enjoyable. For what we paid, I expected significantly better.

The staff both office and housekeeping work hard to make sure everything is in the best condition and rooms are kept very clean and stocked as needed by their guests. All of this makes for a relaxing, social, and luxurious stay. Every staff member I met was friendly and focused on making guests comfortable. My week-long stay felt more like being hosted than just staying at a hotel. Staff were always around if needed but never intrusive, and any small requests were handled with care. The resort is in excellent condition. The grounds, pool deck, and common areas are always clean and well-maintained, showing that cleanliness is a daily priority. Both the pool and hot tub were spotless. My ground-level pool suite was spacious and well-decorated, making it perfect for a longer stay. Besides a comfortable bed, the room had a sofa, a desk, a chest of drawers, reliable Wi-Fi, and a large-screen TV. The layout made it easy to work, relax, or entertain without feeling cramped. A serene atmosphere makes it suitable for whatever you are looking for during your vacation. Being on the first floor, I did contend with overhead noise, as I could hear my neighbor walking around. However, I would choose a ground-floor, poolside room again for convenience. Breakfast and lunch are included in the room rate, and both offer plenty of options. Having fresh meals on-site made it easy to plan relaxed days by the pool or in my suite. The guest culture at Descanso is also special. During my week there, I found other guests to be fun and friendly. There's a nice balance: it's easy to have conversations, but there's no pressure to socialize. The clothing‑optional resort and compact layout foster a sense of ease and privacy, yet you are always just steps from your room, the pool, and the cantina, which keeps everything convenient. If you're thinking about staying here, I especially recommend Descanso if you value: * An upscale, men-only place with a friendly but calm atmosphere. * Large, comfortable rooms that feel like home, even for a week or longer. * Very clean pool and hot tub areas where you can easily spend most of your day. * Quality breakfast and lunch are included, making it much easier to plan your day. I will happily return to Descanso Resort and highly recommend it to gay men looking for a refined, relaxed Palm Springs getaway with great service, generous amenities, and a truly welcoming, social atmosphere.
