Quaint and no-frills, but great location, good price, and it gets the job done. Check-in is super easy, you can arrive after-hours if you must. It is billed as a B&B, so we sampled the options one of the mornings during our stay. Coffee and water, mandarins, and store bought coffee cakes were out, and the proprietor, who was super kind during the stay, made some scrambled eggs, which were really delicious. He had some bread and cinnamon raisin bread out, too, which we toasted. The room was decently sized and fairly clean, though there were some ants. One oddity is the bathroom situation. Our room had a private bathroom, which was a deal breaker for us. You can request that when you book. Most rooms share bathrooms - there are a few in the halls. The walls are pretty thin, and there was a definite clomper present during our visit, so we heard them a-clompin' from time to time. Overall, though, it didn't detract for us. The third floor has a nice little lounge and TV room if you need to stay indoors awhile, plus there are porches out front and on the second floor. Bonus points because at the entrance they sell "ping pong pals," which are ping pong balls with mini sunglasses. That's the stuff bonus points were made for. Extra bonus points for the single best selling point about this place - the location. They are a five minute walk from Ocean Grove's Main Street with its nice coffeeshops, bakeries, delis, shops, etc; less than five minutes walking gets you to the beach; and about 5-10 minutes across the bridge gets you to Asbury's main dining/night life area. That makes for an incredibly convenient stay. We were satisfied. read more

Unfussy and unpretentious, with plenty of comfort and charm. It's the bed-and-breakfast experience you remember before it became needlessly bougie. We always stay at the Ocean Park Inn when visiting Ocean Grove/Asbury Park (which is as often as we can). It's well located, immaculate, affordably priced, comfortable, and friendly. There are multiple outdoor and indoor areas for socializing and/or spreading out. Access to the shared hallway bathrooms is never a problem, and they're always clean. Be sure to keep an eye out for the delightful art, books, and other creations by Dominick's family throughout the inn. read more

The room was comfy, cozy and most importantly it was clean. Only had one harmless lightning bug in our room which was fine. The breakfast was delicious. The bathrooms and shower were very clean. The location is perfect for walking to the beach, around Ocean Grove and or to Asbury Park. Only issue we had was the Wi-Fi. Didn't connect and wasn't able to use it for a lot of things. This bed and breakfast is a real find. It is only two blocks from the beach, and a few blocks from the main drag of Ocean Grove. It is also a short walk across the footbridge to Asbury Park, with its vibrant restaurant scene. (Try Talula's for the best pizza around, or Reyla for an interesting take on middle eastern food.) The whole place is clean and homey. There is a lovely porch on the main floor, and a modest one upstairs. There is nice artwork on the walls and some of the furniture reflects the Victorian period when the place was built. There is a refrigerator where guests can store food and drinks. The WiFi worked fine for me. Each bedroom has a sink; the shared bathrooms with toilets and showers are in the hall. (In my opinion this beats shared bathrooms that are between adjoining rooms, and require you to trust your neighbor to unlock the door on your side when they're finished. If you've ever been on the wrong end of this arrangement, you'll know what I'm talking about.) Our bed was quite comfortable and the individual air conditioner worked great. The breakfast is just right: a cooked egg dish, bread for toast, individual coffee cakes, yogurt fruit, juice and coffee/tea. We will certainly be returning to the Ocean Park Inn. read more

Location, location, location. This inn puts you about 3 walkable blocks from the boardwalk/beach. There are other places to walk to such as Main Street. I went from a Wednesday- Thursday and there was amble street parking. This inn is a no frills, bare minimum place. The person working was really nice. The owner allowed us to check in an hour early which was great. There wasn't much to eat for breakfast, I grabbed a pre made/packaged coffee cake and my girlfriend said the coffee wasn't good. In terms of noise, it was super quiet inside and outside. The most unfortunate part was the visible dust/dirt on the blinds. Also, the floor didn't feel clean when we arrived. We definitely won't be returning because cleanliness is very important to us and we need at least a few frills. I'd certainly recommend this place for anyone into no frills. read more

The woman who primarily runs Ocean Park is utterly adorable and such a sweetheart. She makes breakfast in the mornings, and these are beyond the standard continental. Each morning in the kitchen you will be greeted by an array of fresh baked goods, cereal and topping options, coffee tea and orange juice, fruit, etc., along with whatever was cooked up for the day--anything from pancakes to muffin tin scrambles to breakfast meats and more. The third floor also has a common area, complete with sofas and fridge. My friend and I roomed on the second floor in a relatively small, but comfortable, room. Everyone on the floor shared the bathroom and toilet at the end of the hall, but we also had a sink in our room. While there was no tv, we certainly were not there to stare at a screen and we had access to wifi anyhow. Instead, we spent much of our time outside of course, even on the rainy Sunday when we decided to read on the front porch, occasionally refilling our coffee mugs, for several hours in the morning. The wicker furniture and open porch are not to be overlooked. We also sat in the fun swing chairs on the second floor balcony one day, which gave us a cool view of all the roofs and a little bit of the ocean. Speaking of the ocean, you can buy beach tags at discount here and it's a short walk to the sand. When you come back, there are some decent outdoor showers at the back of the house. Wonderful place to stay in Ocean Grove! Our room was spacious, well appointed and had it's own bathroom. The common areas were comfortable - big front porch to enjoy your breakfast a 3rd floor porch which I imagine would be excellent for reading a book and a common room on the 3rd floor for gathering. Excellent coffee and the Dominicks ( father and son) were gracious hosts. Thank you for hosting us for a wonderful trip to my home away from home, Ocean Grove. read more

I highly recommend this b&b to anyone planning to stay in the area. Julio and Eileen were amazing hosts. They were more than willing to help with anything we needed and were very friendly. It's also worth mentioning Julio whipped up a delicious breakfast each morning which was a nice treat :) The room was pretty small, bare bones and clean -- exactly what I expected for the price. Our room had A/C, the bed was comfortable, and there was also a sink in our room which was convenient considering we were using a shared bathroom on the floor. We stayed here the other night for a one night stay and honestly, it was the worst experience I ever had at a b&b. Earlier this week, I called the manager and said that my husband had an ankle injury & we no longer could make it down. He was rude and short with me on the phone. "Well I cant refund you unless I can fill the spot so you'd lose your money, we have a one week in advance cancellation policy" or something along those lines. It was really off putting. So we went down anyway because my husband was running the spring lake 5 mile on Saturday morning. We had one of the smaller rooms and it literally felt like a closet but it cost $200. I think a prison cell would've been more comfortable. There is NO bathroom in the room. Just a tiny sink. It has NO AC, just a rickety old wall unit that is incredibly loud when you turn it on. There is a fan, but it's also loud. I got 2, maybe 3, hours of sleep because the bed was literally like sleeping on a rock. So incredibly uncomfortable!! Granted I am 30 weeks pregnant, but I still have extreme neck and back pain two days after leaving. They even have the nerve to charge you for water bottles and bagged chip snacks. Absolutely ridiculous!! I've been to b&b's that have complimentary tea, coffee and beverages for the guests. Not to mention snacks. We told the manager we were sad to miss breakfast because we had to leave at 7:15 for the race and he was basically like "ok leave your key here." He could've offered us something to go, I felt, for the $$ we spent on the horrendous accommodations. Also, we noticed some stray hairs by the sink when we went to use the shared hallway bathroom. So gross. Would never come back here again. Staying at this place ruined my weekend to be honest. I am surprised to see they have 5 star reviews. I hope they can improve their accommodations and get better management. read more

This was my first to me here and let me say that I was impressed. The first thing you notice upon entering is how beautifully the room is decorated and how clean it is. Seriously, I didn't see a speck of dust anywhere. We stayed in a room on the 2nd floor. The only drawback was that we did not have a bathroom. We had to use the shared bathroom. I was hesitant at firsy, but after my initial trepidation, I was fine with it mainly because of how clean the entire hotel is. The owners and passionate and caring and it is evident in every aspect of your stay. We enjoyed getting to know them and talking with them. They even had breakfast ready early for us because they knew we had to work an event and leave early. Each morning, they served a Continental style breakfast with one homemade hot dish. The creme brulee french toast was spectacular. The room itself was very nice. We did not have a t.v. but we didn't mind. We enjoyed the quiet time. The bed was firm and extra pillows were immediate delivered to purchase room upon our request. There was a small sink in the room which was good for hand/face washing and brushing teeth. The room was also decorated very nicely and you could see the caring touches of the owners displayed through the decor. I would definitely stay here again. Please don't let the shared bathroom thing affect your decision to stay here. read more

Ocean Park Inn - Ocean Grove, NY This is my 3rd visit to Ocean Park Inn and we just love it. The B&B is warm, friendly, great food and the owners are the absolute best. They are very attentive and you can tell they love what they do. Chris, a wonderful Hostess runs it mid-week and then Eileen and Julio come in for the weekends. I traveled with my mom who is older, frail and blind.. They have a perfect first floor suite with two double beds, private bath and A/C. The food is yummy. Great location - two blocks from beach... I highly recommend OPI- I have stayed in many B&B's... You can always find nice places to stay, but the people make it a true vacation. Thank you for giving us a wonderful vacation. This was my family's first time at Ocean Grove and we couldn't have found a better spot, particularly for the price. It's only two blocks from the beach. Our room was nice & clean with a tasty breakfast and good coffee. It's also 10 minutes tops walking to Asbury Park, which opens up a slew of great restaurants to eat at and a fun boardwalk to walk around. OG also has a cute downtown with enough there that one doesn't really need to go outside the town. We got the deal of buy 3 nights get the 4th free and that made a real summer treat on my wallet. My husband and I just enjoyed a wonderful weekend at Ocean Park Inn. For $135 per night on a weekend in August at the shore, we figured we'd have a "just okay" experience. Boy, were we wrong! This bed and breakfast is a beautiful Victorian-style home with updated fixtures. The shared bathrooms were very clean, with no difficult plumbing. The bedroom and common areas were very clean as well, and comfortably air-conditioned. The outdoor showers for post-beach rinses are well-constructed and offer privacy. The full breakfast included in the room rate was delicious and filling. It's a very short walk from the beach and the Great Auditorium, and a comfortable walk from Asbury Park. Eileen and Julio are so hospitable and helpful -- we hope to come back again soon! read more

Really wish there was an option for four and a half stars. Very nice family run business. Cheery laid back and accommodating. Full breakfast. They sell discounted beach tags there which is very nice. Bathrooms are updated and clean one on each side of the hallway. Stayed in room 19 2 twin beds. Convenient outdoor back showers. Bed mattress very hard moved like cardboard in one piece. I made a trip down to Ocean City for the first time this past weekend. Wanted to just stay over one night. This inn looked lovely, had a vacancy sign, and a parking spot in front, so we popped in. Eileen was super-friendly from the moment we met her and made us a great deal on two rooms. She was so warm and sweet. The inn is just lovely: lots of neat antiques in the parlor and the rooms are pretty. Small but completely adequate with ceiling fans and AC. Just perfect. She gave us a dinner recommendation, too. We spent the evening on the Asbury Park boardwalk, which is an easy 10-minute walk. There is a lovely park right across from the OPI, and it is a quick 3 block walk from the beach. You can also get a discounted beach pass from Eileen ($5, instead of $8). Delicious pancakes for breakfast with lots of fresh fruit, nice hot and good coffee, plus a large selection of teas. What a great find...will def be back :) read more
