Such a cute little coffee shop! We entered through the back and came in to an adorable set up, very homey, and very welcoming. They sold some local handmade goods that I enjoyed looking at. Their prices were super fair, cheaper than a chain. The espresso shots were delicious and they had some really great flavor options. They also had a "pay it forward" board which was super cute. Definitely a sweet little small town coffee shop, I will always recommend places like this! read more

I had the most amazing lavender latte here. The woman rang it up weird. She rang it up as a vanilla latte and to add lavender syrup. I guess when the guy got it, it just showed a vanilla latte. So that's what I got. I said it was supposed to be a lavender latte and he quickly fixed it, no problem. It was seriously the most potent and delicious lavender latte I've ever had. Wonderful hometown coffeeshop. Great mix of local retirees, travelers, and students. Had an Iced Hazelnut Cafe Americano. Deliciousness. Just what I needed first thing in the morning. Stopped by here hoping for some nice coffee and a sandwich on our way out of town. I hate to leave a negative review but we had an awful experience, unfortunately. I requested a BLT and was given the chicken caesar BLT wrap. When confronting staff with the menu and my choice, they stated they don't have a regular BLT. I showed them their own online menu to which they then responded that we should've been more "clear." We did not order a chicken caesar BLT wrap. I made this clear again and asked for it to be remade as a plain BLT and when i received my remade sandwich it was a chicken caesar BLT on sandwich bread. To say i was disappointed is an understatement. In addition to all of that, the staff was complaining and talking about me the entire time i was standing there. Stating that they did everything right and we should've been more clear. I'm not sure how we could've been clearer when we ordered a BLT.. which again, is on the menu. The service was just not there. Then, my partner ordered a bagel with cream cheese. They forgot the cream cheese. The coffees taste like very sweet versions of Dunkin. Not what you want when you specifically go out of your way to an independently owned coffee shop. read more

Adorable coffee and sandwich shop. Ordered lunch for 4 with 4 ice waters it's over 90 degrees today. The cost was over $60. Gave our name and sat down. When my name was called there was plastic bag containing our lunches, we were obviously eating in. We had to ask for the waters twice. The all the sandwiches and potato salad were VERY salty and the bread on the turkey club was incredibly hard. The chicken Waldorf salad was fresh and the apple cinnamon dressing was delicious. Whilst this is my favorite hangout spot in Kilmarnock, it's also where I see most of my money going. If you want fancy coffees, they've got you - but at a price. Regardless, if you haven't popped your head in, I urge you too. The menu has a wide variety, but with almond milk coming in at an additional charge of 0.75c, and sugar free syrup costing 0.55c - my 4.50 medium matcha latte was starting to add up! Two seasonal special coffees cost me just under $12 with tax... regardless - this is the closest thing to a Starbucks around here, and if you're a fan of Peet's coffee, then this is the place for you. They are always rolling out samples to see what customers think! Gotta love a freebie! There's plenty of seating, inside and out, plus the parking lot has enough space out back if you can't find any on street parking on the main road. Very easily accessible, equipped with a ramp for wheelchair access The coffeehouse oozes modern farmhouse chic from the minute you walk in, you feel like you could be inside a Magnolia cover shoot - it's clean, bright, the white, the deep blue feature wall vs the wooden tables, the white washed brick and the galvanized communal table seats with tear drop lighting... I could go on, it's very easy on the eyes and feels very "homey". If in need for some interior design inspiration, grab a coffee and take some notes! read more

Charming and quaint atmosphere...great place to hang and read the paper or your favorite magazine. They serve PEETs - so....what more is there to say? quality coffee beverages of all kinds...my fav...Coconut Black Tie. Did I mention the service? Whoever trains the staff here does a great job. I was here in September, during a camping trip in Kure Beach. My daughter and I were out doing errands and it was definitely Mocha Time! We were enchanted by the statue out front, and the interior is cute. It's really quite large, with numerous tables in two rooms. My iced mocha was perfection and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed her drink (I don't recall what is was). We had fun reading all the signs and browsing the items for sale, while we waited while our drinks were made. The place was sparkling clean and the service was friendly and swift. I feel like if we lived close by, this would be a regular spot for us to get our coffee on. She had no idea and the man making the beverages looked at the menu on the wall and shrugged his shoulders, saying something about cold teas,. The signage is unclear not only to customers but the staff too! I understand the knitting group uses the lounge area often, but their voice volume overwhelms the calmness of what could otherwise be a relaxing experience. The cashier who took our order must have been having a rough afternoon. We've been here several times in the last 4 years since moving up here from Georgia and were excited to bring family here when they came to visit. The person who took our order looked absolutely miserable when we walked up to the register and when we asked about sizes she snapped "For what?!" then pointed at the cups and again snapped "small, medium, and large" before glaring at us waiting on our order. This little coffee shop was so cute! We stumbled upon it while shopping and it was much needed! They sell Pete's coffee so it reminded me a lot of the capital one cafe which I love! Two separate seating areas; one is a laptop-free zone and comfortable tables, the other is larger and features comfortable lounge chairs. As you enter, the coffee and offerings are to the left. Your first interaction with staff tells you immediately that you are in an upscale operation, as the Barrister carefully takes your order and repeats the order to be certain there are not mistakes. You will also find many delightful items such as cookies, bagels, croissants, and did I mention cookies? The prices are fair, the food is great and the coffee is spectacular. Go for it! Perfect peaceful coffee shop atmosphere, wonderful service, delish gluten free option (blueberry muffin) and a smooth decaf americano. I love that they have non-dairy options as well. I wanted something savory though, so it will be the bees knees if they ever get a gluten free version of their flatbread egg sandwich. Here, expect friendly service with a smile. Also, they got both my mom's and my order correct even with our substitutions. This would be a great place to meet a friend for coffee or even do some work on your laptop. Voted best coffeehouse in Best of Virginia Magazine 2021 (Eastern VA) so when on vacation in the Northern Neck, had to check it out. My mom and I loved it, very good Peet's Coffee, beautiful outdoor area and very clean inside. We also shared the tomato mozzarella panini and wow, it was delicious. Whenever I visit my family down here I always stop in. They make a great cappuccino and their cold brew/iced coffee is very good. While I am in school it's nice to be able to sit here and use the wifi to do homework while enjoying my coffee. The staff is always very friendly and it's very clean. Stumbled on this coffeehouse while driving in the area. Mr Patterson has done everything right! Peet's coffee is a secret outside of the west coast but may well be the best commercial brand out there. Then to add Grater's ice cream is just plain genius. The space is welcoming, the service good and the pastries sumptuous! I wish I had something like this in Richmond. read more
