Mild chicken wings that should have been extra crispy and Steak and Cheese sub with jalapenos that didn't have jalapenos
    David T.

This restaurant came highly recommended and I could see how they would normaly get 4- 41/2 stars but today there was only one waitress during lunch and she was doing what she could, but we waited more than 5 minutes before our drink order was taken and 2 of the 3 were wrong. We ordered extra crispy wings with ranch and bleu cheese...they were not crispy and no sauces. We also ordered 3 steak and cheese subs, 2 with jalapenos....only 1 had the peppers. We had to ask for tableware. Top it off?...we got the wrong check! We Will go back a second time to see if they've gotten any better after Coronavirus ,will keep you updated

This was the second time we've been to KC's, but this time was a disappointment. The first time we went, we had crabs, which were really good. They were a good size and were fresh. The second time, we had a fried shrimp dinner and we wished we would have just stayed home. The drinks were good, but the food was not. Now, this could be attributed to the fact that we got there around closing time. We were told that we could only order fried foods, so we got shrimp and french fries. We thought that was simple enough, but evidently quality falls closer to closing. The french fries were saturated in oil, flavorless and not well cooked. The shrimp weren't bad, but they didn't have much flavor either. For $18, I expected more shrimp as well. Maybe we'll try this place again to break the tie...and definitely earlier in the day.

This was a great place to stop in and grab a bite. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful since we'd never eaten there before. The food is higher quality for the price. You can tell they use fresh seafood.

MR burger came 30 min later WD; ask who's in the kitchen. Chicken wings with hot sauce and ranch dressing get 5* for flavor. Order them.

The food was very good. Seafood excellent. Hot wings were hot. Will come back again. I will try something different.

Great service. Great food. Had fresh raw oysters. I'm from New York State so that is hard to find. Will go back when on town again.

Excellent peeled shrimp. They could work a little on the cleanliness, but overall a good place. We'll be back.

It is popular, for all the right reasons, so take that into your planning. We were seated quickly because we arrived before 5:30! By the time we left there weren't many open seats. The waiter was great, well timed and very competent. Inside it was cozy and ready for the Christmas holiday's. Something possessed me so I ordered a margarita. Pretty good! I have crazy margarita standards and this one hit the mark. We also started with hushpuppies. Since I used to have a summer job where ALL I did was make hushpuppies at a fish fry shack, I can personally rate hushpuppies and these were outstanding. I'm a sucker for crabcakes. So, of course, I had to have a crabcake sandwich. I didn't want to go all in on the meal and the sandwich seemed the perfect fit for me. And it was! Just the way I like them and wouldn't have it any other way. I went with mashed potatoes gravy as one side. It was very good and will be my new staple. I wanted a good vegetable that I could identify, but the only option that appealed to me was the cucumber salad. I don't remember the last time I ordered that. After the edition, I should order it more! The reason this has been a successful family run business for the last 80 years is because it is reliable, tastes great, and would be the poster child of a place that excels at "comfort food". And I write that with pride.

Great service. Shimp is very good all seafood is highly recommended. French fries above average.read more

Modern but still captured the old coastal feel. It was super musty and smelled like it. There was a dehumidifier but it was so small, in two nights we actually had to dump the water bucket 4 times. And if we left all day, we came back to a damp room. I'm not sure what causes that - we live in a super humid area and don't have the same issue, but maybe a larger humidifier would help. The breakfasts were fantastic - you can order anything off their restaurant menu. I didn't have anything bad, everything was super fresh and came in huge portions. I do wish they had an espresso machine but the coffee was okay. Check out was also a breeze. This isn't a luxury location, my main complaint was the price for it feels steep, but it's one of the only spots in the area which is probably why they can charge so much. Overall, a great stay and I would definitely come back here if I was in the area again.

My wife's house salad was very tasty but had several pieces of wilted greens that she picked out. I started with the French onion soup, which was very salty. Almost too salty to eat. My wife had the salmon and I had the Shrimp in the sambuca sauce. The salmon was cooked good and very flavorful, the asparagus was cooked perfectly and good tasting. The shrimp were cooked well but the dish itself was lacking flavor. I was surprised at the absence of the sauce. It barely covered the pasta. The waitress did offer to add more sauce to it, and actually brought out some more sauce with a little more sambuca in it. It did improve the dish, but not one of my favorites. So 5 stars on the salmon dish. 3 stars on the salad. 1 star on the French onion soup, and 3 stars on the shrimp sambuca sauce dish. I have had the French onion soup before and it was good, so this was just a bad night. We will still go there because they usually are very good, and everyone can have an off night. The waitress told the chef about the sambuca sauce and she said he agreed with me and tweek the sauce.

One star for customer service, not taste 1 Star…read more I booked this spot for my birthday dinner with my boyfriend, and it was memorable for all the wrong reasons. A server showed up drunk and was sent home, a chef was fired, and that left only the owner cooking and one server on the floor. After seating three tables (including us), they closed to new diners but kept taking care of takeout. Our server ignored tables, let drinks sit empty, and spent the night chatting with takeout customers. We waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for sushi, had to ask for our uncooked rolls, then waited another 20 minutes for the cooked ones -- which we could see sitting on the counter untouched. Takeout was clearly the priority, not guests dining in. When we requested a discount given the situation, we were flatly refused. For the record: the sushi itself was fine. This 1-star rating is strictly about the disastrous service, extreme wait times, takeout being prioritized over dine-in, and the refusal to make things right after ruining a birthday dinner. Sadly, this wasn't a one-off. On Valentine's Day, with a full staff, we still waited over two hours for food while takeout orders rolled out smoothly. Whether packed or nearly empty, dine-in customers are treated as second-class here. We won't be back. Trust me it's worth the drive to Gloucester for great sushi and customer service at Bangkok or Hana Sushi.

We ordered one sushi roll and cashew chicken for a total of $48. The amount of chicken looked like it was less than half of a chicken breast. We had to make other food to supplement the chicken dish.
