Stopped by for a bite to eat on a random Thursday evening before the Christmas holiday got into full swing and was very happy to finally have a chance to try the place out. Just come on in and have a seat. We chose the upper seating on the left but a couple tables on the lower right side had folks so they were enjoying themselves. It was light traffic. Didn't know if it was because they recently reopened or because it was early in the middle of the week. Either way, your lose for not being there! The hostess/waitress/bartender did an exceptional job and was very pleasant the entire time we were there. I can't pass up meatloaf on a menu so I had my favorite dish and they did a great job with it. And there was PLENTY to eat from it. Side of mashed potatoes and gravy on everything just hit the spot and screamed "comfort food" on a cool December night. I have to say those green beans were tasty and how often do you say that? All of it was accompanied by a beer from the tap and I just felt like I was home for the holidays! read more

I love this place. It has a warm, comfortable interior and a generally older crowd of regulars who contribute to the comfy atmosphere. There's big screen TVs behind the bar if you like sports. They do an excellent half pound burger that's far better than the ones sold a few blocks away. One interesting twist is you can get it topped with pimento and cheese topping that is deee-lish! Earlier today I got the Italian Panini. I've had 5 or 6 of them at Donna's and they were all outstanding! It's got ham, turkey, salami, pepperoni and provolone cheese. I had mine with fries on the side - they are not to be missed. I don't know what it is about them, but they have something on them that makes Donna's fries extra good. Donna's onion rings are excellent, too. So I had the sandwich with fries and sweet tea and the bill came to just under $19. Bacon cheeseburger with lettuce wrap and coleslaw. Burger was cooked to order, had a nice char while still having a pink center. Top notch. I found the coleslaw rather bland. Needs a bit of salt, pepper and perhaps a nice dollop of horseradish. Full bar, multiple on beers on tap. TVs with sports. Decent background music quiet enough to hear, yet still have a conversation. Great service while we sat out on the patio. Nothing special about the decor inside. Fried chicken and hush puppies were over cooked. Crab dip was mostly cream cheese with Old Bay - not much crab. Overall, it was unimpressive. There are so many better options nearby. read more

Overall this place seems like more of a drinking establishment that also has very expensive food. My dad has lived out here for 10 years, goes out for dinner at least once a week, and has never been. I guess I know why! Few notes: - I got the shrimp po boy based on another yelp review and liked it (but it was $19) - chix salad sandwich looked worse than homemade -- on untoasted wheat -- yikes - $6 hot dog for kid was the saddest looking thing ever - on the bright side we accidentally left something here and our server helped us find it -- thanks! My crab cake sandwich was delicious and I paired it with sweet potato fries which were also dynamite! Chris had rockfish bites and fries and he was really impressed. Service was friendly, accurate and fast! We came at lunch time, it had a quiet background music, muted tv's showing sports and cozy booths and bar seating. Great little restaurant! The only thing that prevents me from giving it 5 stars is that my hamburgers are always over cooked. I always ask for medium and they always come well done. They're still delicious but if well done is the only option, maybe just state that on the menu. My husband raved about the chili and said it was one of the best he's ever had. He loved that is was super meaty! The staff is very efficient and attentive even when they're busy. They have a fairly extensive menu so chances are you're going to find something to enjoy! I got the pastrami sandwich combo for lunch. Very little meat on the sandwich. My coworker even commented when it was delivered to the table. The taste was enjoyable. My coworker got the black and blue burger and he enjoyed it. Good atmosphere and friendly attentive staff. I do think we were charged a couple dollars more than the menu listed the items for. He mentioned it to me after we left and I thought the same thing in the restaurant when we tabbed out. read more

We have been to Donnas before with happy results, but their Valentines shared dinner for two was beyond outstanding. We had mussels with garlic toast as an appetizer, followed by a 36 oz smoked tomahawk steak alongside two enormous Dungeness crab claws, garlic mashed potatoes, and asparagus. Everything was seasoned and prepared to perfection and served piping hot. Our booth was decorated with a Valentines Day theme that was very charming. The waitstaff was efficient and friendly and checked on us now and then to make sure we were satisfied. We took our limoncello cake and cheesecake desserts home and they made for a delicious and special breakfast treat. We had a very special evening enjoying our meal there, and we will be back for it next year, G_d willing. Thanks to everyone there that made this such a memorable Valentines meal. read more

Walked in, no one greeted us, no sign to say "Seat Yourself" or "Please Wait to be Seated" so we sat ourselves. Server was friendly and did the best she could. Took our drink order, my drink however was never made nor did the bartender advise the server he couldn't make it. I watched the bartender make other drinks for our table, talk to patrons seated at the bar, answer the phone and never start my drink. I finally had to advise the server if the bartender can't make the drink I chose I can pick another one. I choose another drink and it finally came out. Food orders were taken and after 1 hour, appetizers came out, an hour later our server asked if we just wanted whatever was ready to come out? Yes, we all replied! In total we waited 2 hours for main entrées that came out cold. After 2 hours we were told one of the daily specials were sold out. As food was coming out one guest was advised by Donna (owner) that his burger order they had run out, she offered him ribs, that came out over cooked and drenched with bbq sauce. Another guest ordered a medium well burger and it came out overcooked and hard. Donna came to our table and instead of comping us she offered us desserts as if our meals were to our satisfaction. When then find out the reason for the delay was she had to call in a cook. The experience was awful and I don't recommend this place to anyone. She's in dire need of help from both the management to staff levels. It's clear she's in business for the money and customer service is not of her concern. read more
