    Ohana Poke - Exterior

It was okay. My fiancé and I decided to drop in to Ohana Poke during our trip to Billings. After reading all the great reviews, we were excited to see what the hype was about. Truthfully, I'm still not quite sure. Let's start with food. I ordered a BYO small bowl with: + 1/2 white rice, 1/2 sushi rice + Edamame, Green Onions, Avocado & Krab Salad + 1/2 Hawaiian Poke, 1/2 Spicy Tuna Poke + Spicy Mayo + Pickled Ginger & Furikake The serving size was perfect. A small bowl was more than enough to satisfy my hunger after driving for a few hours. The mixins and toppings were good too. Fresh ingredients all around. My biggest bone to pick with the food itself was the poke. Now, I try not to be biased because I was born & raised in Hawai'i and there's no where in the world that can compare when it comes to poke. But what we had at Ohana Poke lacked good flavor. I'm not sure what's supposed to be in the Hawaiian Poke but it tasted like plain ahi cubes to me, there was nothing special about it. The Spicy Tuna Poke really threw me for a loop. Traditionally, spicy tuna poke is made with a spicy mayo. What we had here was just straight up spicy - and I love spicy food! My fiancé could barely finish his food because of the heat. Like I said, I love spicy. But the flavor I was looking for just wasn't there. I ended up asking for a side of spicy mayo to drench my poke in - that's where all the flavor I had came from. The overall vibe of the restaurant was cute and welcoming. It's definitely somewhere I would have lunch with a friend, if all else was ideal. The service was a little different. The young lady who helped us did not seem like she wanted to be there and she sure as heck didn't want to be serving us. I hate walking into a restaurant and feeling like I'm inconveniencing the staff by ordering. We did stroll in about 30-40 minutes to closing but I don't think that's an excuse. Would I recommend Ohana Poke to a friend? Maybe with caution. It's not in my list of "must-haves" on our next trip to Billings.

Stopped in for lunch on a recommendation from a friend , got a large bowl with the spicy ahi tuna . Will eat here again. Stopped In again this Friday after my workout for a healthy lunch . Got a small bowl this time I had the Hawaiian Poke , on the cold sushi rice , with cucumber, green onion, jalapeños, house pico, pickled ginger , sesame seeds , house sauce ,spicy mayo , masago , furikake

I like it. With a decent variety of proteins, raw and cooked, Ohana Poke does a good job in preparing the bowls while you wait and watch. With so many people working behind the counter when I stopped in, it looked chaotic. That might work itself out the longer it's opened and as the process smooths out. Like all Poke places, it's simple: decide what size, pick a base, pick a protein, then toppings, and sauce. Of the seven or so proteins, only three are noted as raw. There is something for everyone. With the variety of toppings, the final, fresh, ready-to-eat meal can be as complicated or as simple as you want. I opted for spinach as the base in lieu of either the brown or white rice. That choice made for a light meal, although there was quite a bit of liquid from the sauce and toppings - and that's where the rice would be an advantage. Well, that, and making it a more substantial meal. The inside is nice enough, with a light, open concept that doesn't seem to encourage lingering for some reason. That probably doesn't matter as with such a lighter meal, you might have the energy to get back outside instead of wanting to take a nap. It's all good.

Stopped in here for lunch for the first time and what a great place! Everything tasted freshly cut/made that same day! The prices are very reasonable for what you receive and even if the line is long it goes quickly and is worth the wait. Perfect for a quick stop during work for lunch or come back for the casual atmosphere with a friend! Will definitely be back here again!

My boyfriend and I were craving some poke, so we decided to stop by and try this place out. First thing I noticed when I walked in was how nicely decorated the store was! The atmosphere felt relaxing and seemed like a great place to hang out with some friends. I ordered a large poke bowl, which costed around $14. Right away, I noticed that there wasn't a lot of fish in my bowl, even though the fish should be the star of any poke bowl. There was also a lot more rice added than what I was expecting. It seemed like the bowl was made up of 70% rice, 20% mix-ins, and 10% fish. The ratio was disappointing to me. Overall, the poke bowl tasted decent but was quite expensive.

    Small ahi tuna raw bowl!

Great new addition to Billings! I think they still have some adjusting to do as they are new but overall would recommend! Good value for the bowl with fresh tuna shipped in from Hawaii! They charge the same for the bowls even if you want the fresh tuna or salmon, or the cooked tofu. That's where I think it's a bit of a bad value-they could charge differently for the tofu or chicken, etc. I got a fresh raw ahi tuna bowl with rice, black beans, edamame, spinach and sauces- probably some other toppings I can't recall because they have so many options! They charge extra for avocado (of course), seaweed, and one Other topping. The bowl was a perfect combo of warm and cold, nourishing and filling! The small was definitely a good amount and a great lunch option! The interior is nice and clean, it seems like More of a lunch place than dinner though. The interior is kind of "cold." The menu is a good mix of cooked and raw options-but again, the price doesn't change so I will find myself getting the most bang for my buck by going with raw fresh fish over the tofu- which I would also like to try at some point!

Super pumped for a place like this in Billings. We grabbed a couple bowls to-go and really enjoyed them. We both loved how fresh everything was and we were very pleased with the portion size. We will definitely be coming back. If there was one thing I would have liked, would have been some signature dishes for starting points. My wife had no idea where to begin or what would be good as flavor combinations. She was looking at other company's websites to get an idea of where to start here. Looking forward to trying it again.

Really yummy, poke was fresh and the fixings were on point. Had the small spicy poke bowl which is more than enough for a meal.

Not a good quality and good quantity poke place. Mostly rice and other stuff you eat with small amount of poke.
