I ordered a Bow Burger with a Clam Chowder for the side The price was $25.99 The burger was slightly undercooked to my liking since I ordered it well done but it came out with pink in the center. The bun was sourced from the BreadFarm down the street. The bun was very tough to chew though, which most likely means it was a day old or maybe longer. The soup was made in house and tasted good. The Old Edison is probably one of the most iconic bars in Northwest Washington, if not the entire state. It's not quite a dive bar, but not the fanciest place ever. Their food isn't high end, but it's still delish. And if you're looking for a place to catch some live music on the weekends, but still get home by sunset, well this is the spot for you. My favorite time to come here is on a Sunday evening with my dude. We like to get there early, play a game or two of shuffleboard, enjoy one of their delish burgers and iconic onion rings, some beers, and then settle back to listen to what is almost always an amazing band. I will also die on this hill - they make THE BEST pickle fries of anywhere. Go ahead, try them. We got the Bow burger and the Captain's plate. While it seems a little spendy (doesn't everything these days?), I think you get what you pay for. The burger is stellar and local, and you can't go wrong with fried seafood. We ordered 4 oyster shooters, a cup of clam chowder, and 1 Big E Cheeseburger with an extra patty cut in half for two. The burger came with fries. However, we were never brought the clam chowder and thus didn't pay for it. Therefore, our total was $27. The oysters were not as good or as big as the ones we got at Gentlemen Gene's Pub but we're still pretty good. The burger was very juicy and flavorful. The beef and cheese were local. Edison is a farming community with plenty of cows and a butcher shop is near the restaurant. So, this is probably some of the freshest meat you can get. The ambience was great and they even had 2 shuffleboards to play! This place would have been 5 stars but how can you give a perfect review when the host didn't bring all of the things that were ordered yet brought the bill for the missing item at the end of the meal. And, they weren't even busy as we were the last people in the restaurant when we left. We would have loved to have tried the chowder. But, we left it up to fate as to whether we would get to try it or not. As fate would have it our hostess didn't remember. Maybe your experience will be better. read more

Coming back from oyster dome hike - we were ravished and searching for a Dinner place with reasonable price! This is a gem of a pub, plus on top of that food is amazing. Food is amazing! My second time visiting and it is absolutely the best food around. I wish I would have ran across this hidden gem years ago. I'm getting ready to relocate from WA State however, when I'm in the area again, The Old Edison will definitely be included on the itinerary! The atmosphere is older and it seems as though only locals attend. I'm never intimidated by the atmosphere of a place so I was unbothered (no one gave me a reason to be bothered either) The staff was friendly and welcoming and service was fast. The food is undoubtedly fresh! Best sweet potato fries I've ever eaten...I'm from the south and I'm a food junkie, so that statement is huge coming from me! I encourage you to go visit! This is my first dining review ever, but it had to be done. We stopped into this little place on a whim and were delighted with the service and food! The server was helpful and friendly, and the food was fabulous! One of us had the oyster burger and loved every bite. I had the French Dip with onion rings and couldn't finish! Excellent dive bar. Clientele ranges from bikers to senior citizens and all between. Edison is a very small town. Very small. With that in mind, free parking can be found in the limited parking lot or on the sides of the narrow streets. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Indoors, one will find a full bar, mismatched tables and chairs, unique wall-hangings, a stage area for live music, a well-maintained shuffleboard and mounted TV's. Free Wi-Wi is available. A large outdoor seating area is located in the back. Edison offers a nice selection of local craft beer as well as the standard domestic beer. If you like spirits, Edison has a nice variety of infused vodka and tequilas. Food items are a more upscale than the standard dive bar offerings. My wife and I each slurped on a Manny's for $4.75 each. We shared a cup of Clam Chowder (Friday's only) for $4.50. I enjoyed the chowder, my wife didn't care for it. We also shared the Big E Cheeseburger for $11:50: cheese, tomato, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles. We chose the wedge cut fries (Jo Jo's) for $1 up-charge. We both devoured this tasty burger and every last fry. Delicious. Our server was friendly, welcoming and efficient. My wife and I enjoyed playing on the shuffleboard on our way out. Was in Edison and decided to go to the Mariposa for lunch. Closed. By accident we fell into the "Old Edison" bar. A real CLASSIC old bar in downtown Edison. We were in there early but felt more than welcome to find a place to sit. Our server was friendly and very attentive. Brought us water without asking. We sat outside in their "courtyard". We both love oysters and went with the Oyster Burger. OMG. Perfectly cooked. Stout and juicy oysters. Lightly breaded. Served ala' plenty on a freshly warmed bun. Accompanied by homemade tartar sauce, fresh lettuce, a tomato and a slice of lemon. More oysters than you could shake a stick at. Pure heaven. Plenty of local beers on tap to choose from as well. Dive bar with delicious foods. The lamb served here is reputed to be wonderful but my friend and I chose the pulled pork. This sandwich did not disappoint. This local meat is slow roasted with a smoke flavor aimed to please. The homemade coleslaw is tasty and fresh. We each paid extra to have our pulled pork served on a BreadFarm roll ($2.00). I ordered a fresh homemade creamy artichoke soup. It was incredible. I am dreaming of it and may make the trek back Thursday to get more! My friend got a side of slaw (slaw comes on the sandwich too. It has been a long time since I've been here, but memory served me right and this was a nice place for dinner. Our waitress was super energetic and friendly. We had drinks to start with an app of onion rings- the portion was huge and they were really tasty!! I was also appreciative of how quickly the order came out. They have quite a list of local beers and cider on tap. I had the passion fruit cider- balanced, fruity, tart and a hint of sweetness. For me, dinner was the "Big E" salad with chicken and house balsamic dressing. It came with Breadfarm garlic bread. It is always a bonus when a local business supports another local business! Wow! I love this little old saloon in "downtown" Edison. I went with four people and we each had something different. I had the beef stew and a cheeseburger. The stew was completely out-of-this-world-delicious and the cheeseburger was great, too. The Old Edison has a large selection of beers - any local, and fresh home-made food. We have been to the Edison many times and usually have had the bow burger. The food and beer selection have always been outstanding. Last visit we had the lamb wrap and it was exceptional. Today the bow burger was definitely not the same. The beef was of poor quality and not cooked well at all. I'm disappointed. I had been meaning to try this place for a while and I am so glad I finally did. Started off with a cup of Clam Chowder...Good Chowder, not the best I have ever had but a solid cup of Chowder nonetheless...Then I had the Oyster Dinner...sadly they don't do Fresh Cut Fries and I almost took a star away because of this but I subbed a Salad and not only were the Greens super fresh but the Ranch Dressing was Home-made and fantastic...The Cole Slaw was also Home-made super fresh and like seriously delicious...The Oysters were fried to absolute perfection...superb...sublime...on the side was an excellent Home-made Cocktail Sauce...I'm not a Tartar Sauce fan but judging from everything else I'd wager it was great! Had a Pint of Guinness with the meal which I feel for some reason pairs wonderfully with Oysters...It was a professionally poured Pint with just a fingers thickness of foam on top... I went in on the Sunday before Memorial Day after spending time walking the beach at Bay View State Park. The town of Edison was fairly busy but I easily found parking directly in front of The Old Edison. They were busy, but still friendly staff that stay on top of serving customers. Wonderful selection of infused vodka, tequila and rum. I chose a orange infused vodka for my Lemon Drop. So good, so very good. For my meal the oyster dinner. OMG, the oysters are to die for. So very fresh, so well prepared, so damn good. Quite possibly my favorite restaurant in Skagit county. The offer an extensive menu so if oysters aren't your thing, there are plenty of other options. Staff cleaned every table after customer left. Bathroom was clean, albeit small. There's a large area outside at the back of The Old Edison if you want to eat outside. read more

The day after: Sorry to have to add this but my Mom and husband both ate the Captain's plate last night and have had diarrhea all night. It hasn't stopped yet. The food was good, I had chicken Swiss burger with a side salad. The service was verrrry slow and poor. We waited approximately 10 minutes for the waitress to take our drink orders. We had to get up and get our own menu. The waitress was friendly, but took forever to wait on us, didn't check on us after bringing our food, didn't offer to get us another beverage, and forgot to split our bill as she offered. So if you come be prepared to wait and get your own menu, and to assert yourself for service! If the place were busy, I'd feel differently.
