I enjoyed the inside and the seats but I just don't think I can get coffee from here if it's flavored like this.

This means I'm expecting fish & chips with coleslaw. What they deliver instead is fish & coleslaw. Sometimes I'm glad for the lighter meal but sometimes I really am craving some fries so it's annoying. I think I tried to talk to a waitress about it once but the conversation didn't go anywhere. I don't know if I'll order it a third time but I might be tempted to just because I'm curious to see what will arrive next time I ask for "fish & chips with coleslaw." We haven't explored their arcade yet. They used to also have a casino/card room but it closed in about 2025.

Honestly I hate leaving bad reviews because I understand we're all human and mistakes happen. However, I was appalled with my waitresses customer service. When our waitress brought our food out I took a bite out of my omelette and saw a VERY long black hair cooked in with my omelette - YUCK (not wanting to complain because we had already waited 35 minutes outside in line, another 17 minutes at our booth for our sodas and when we finally got our sodas they were flat and tasted horrible! Naturally we told our waitress the sodas were flat and we would like either another one or a different kind if that one was out...she proceeded to roll her eyes, grab the sodas and walk away without saying anything....when she returned I told her about the black hair in my food which she then grabbed my plat and scoffed saying of course and walked away. I could not believe her attitude. After waiting another 11 minutes she returned with another omelette and said here ya go and asked if there was anything else I needed. Old European Waffle Cakes restaurant has a genuinely home-like feel to it. The menu contains interspersed stories, some very personal and touching, about certain items. And then a separate and smaller detailed menu with pictures of the entrees has the background stories of members of the staff. A very welcoming effect. The food was surprisingly good and generous. In our party we had about ten people and we all shared in their warm homemade grain bread with sunflower seeds and a side of fresh raspberry jam. It was fantastic! For my entree I ordered the Danish abelskeivers stuffed with sausage and havarti and served with a side of apple sauce for dipping. These little balls of pancakes were cooked perfectly outside and the doughy part inside was moist. The meat and cheese added to its explosive flavor. They were extremely delicious! I just wanted to savor every single last morsel. Also shared in the German potato pancakes, which were in themselves a great treat! The orange juice was freshly squeezed and the hit of the table. The service was top notch we were given a lot of attention despite the very busy atmosphere. This is definitely a place to seek out if ever in this part of Washington state. read more

The food is decent to good, and the portions are alright as well. Basically, it feels as if they rely very heavily on atmosphere and a few very unique dishes, and everything else is slightly-overpriced average breakfast fare. You'll be walking away full and happy, but you'd get a bit more of a delicious bang for your buck from the likes of the Breakfast Club instead. They are always overcrowded, so expect a 30 minute wait if you're trying to seat more than 2 or 3 people after about 11 AM. That said, one of the particularly stand-out dishes is their Aebleskivers. Basically any of the flavor and/or topping combinations they have for them are outstanding, and if you're a resident of the area and looking for something new for breakfast out on the town, I'd recommend giving it a shot at least once. read more

Dishwashers get paid the same as cooks. Disgusting how the manager treats his employees, not to mention the average cost for each customer is $18.00 in a college town for food that is rather Denny's like. My daughters both enjoyed their meals. We paid the bill with a credit card and were told that no gratuity could be charged. Of course I wanted to compensate the weight staff for service. Fortunately, I had cash to leave a nice tip. Afterwards, we took the opportunity to take pictures with the beautiful backdrop of the golf course and university below .
